@SuperSugarbear99 I haven't played one, although comparing mine with other reviews of their models I hear a consistency of tone. As far as playability goes its just matter of setup. For the price point the Dragon would a good choice in my opinion.
Good review! I have to say, Luna has some very unique designs! I have the Gypsy Spalt, and I enjoy playing it. Despite some damage there, good playing and nice guitar.
@MrCarl220 Thanks you. I really dig the dolphins, although the design omits the 19th fret on the high E, but it's worth the company of my seafaring friends... :D
I was thinking about buying a Luna Fauna Dragon/Phoenix from a local guitar shop. I've always thought they sound great and look awesome. I'm still newer to guitar though, do you think it would be a good buy?
@SaintMirage Well those guitars retail from $625.00 - $672.00 so it's really about you are willing or can pay for a guitar, and what you will be happy with at the end of the day. It's all about personal preference, although I would suggest looking around & playing other guitars and compare. I personally don't like paint or a high gloss finish on acoustics because it effects the tone. Bottom line: negotiate! Pay least as possible! It is only a good buy if you are happy with it -- good luck!
I bought a Michael Kelly acoustic bass from Musician's friend and when it came the bracing was hanging off the top. It was only packed in a cardboard box with no styrofoam or even bubble wrap, no protection at all. I sent it back and they sent me another one and the lower bout was smashed. I sent it back and got my money back and bought one at Guitar Center. I won't buy any more acoustic instruments from Musicians Friend. Real nice playing, by the way. Blessings
@cobutler1 Sorry to here that. I've been hearing similar stories about musicians friends lack of service. They're a subsidiary of guitar center so you would think there would be better quality control, although GC isn't much better -- still no excuse. I miss the locally owned mom & pop stores that WalGuitar put out of business.
Has anyone played the Luna fauna dragon? I was thinking about getting one
