The problem is probably largely in part the media. The dentist probably saves his money. White media glorifies guys who spend wisely and do good accounting (see Clark Howard, for instance, who has his own TV show for being a good saver). Conversely, what does the media tell black youth? It glorifies liquor, spinning rims, bling, and stupid shit like that treating them as pure consumers rather than potential business starters and entrepreneurs. I do not know about the career field, but the college financial aid system is favored toward black people. Take it from a college student who's grades (3.7) is higher than some of my black buddies(3.2). I still pay for the majority of my school while my buddies have more than half of theirs paid by scholarships. The college financial aid system loves the minority. If your a minority, go to college. Work hard and you will not have to pay a dime. Unfortunately, the same is not for me.
