If Bristol is the real mother, she might be taking responsibility for the birth for a couple of reasons:

1. looks bad for her kid to have 2 babies out of wedlock.

2.  Levi is the father of only one of the babies, and she is trying to shield her daughter from the criticism that would follow.

3. Bristol drinks like a fish -- it may have damaged the baby = criminal charges against the daughter.

She didn't give birth to TRIG in a hospital. She "gave birth" to the baby in a small Wasilla clinic AFTER the first signs of PREMATURE labor appeared (fluid leakage) while she was giving a speech in Texas. Instead of going to one of the many fine hospitals there, she flies 8 HOURS back to Anchorage, and instead of going to a well equipped hospital THERE, drives ANOTHER 45 minutes back to this small Wasillia clinic to give birth! Sounds fishy to me. Sounds like Bristol was already there.
