I still use this phone i have rooted it and put AOSP Android 2.3 on it and it works great but nower days it is let down by the cpu but you can overclock it

They have outperformed and outsold every competitor they have faced. the IPHONE HD will be here soon. It will once again destroy everything that comes against it. @CaliNiggas Half a year later, I'm sending you a comment and the iPhone 4 has since come out but so has half a dozen really good Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD as well as Windows 7 Mobile. Also Android now holds a larger percentage of the market than iPhone and has since gained large popularity and momentum. The iPhone is losing its grip and is no longer such a huge force as it once was. ^^

Well, neither. If you had to pick one, i think that i would pick the hero. However! I can handle only 2g speeds, but they may be too slow for others. Iphone is a very fast phone, and it does have a lot of benefits, but android is much better. So if i was you, i would get the nexus one. If it is the hero or iphone, hero. Good luck man.

oh yeah i bought it in November and it's the best phone eva! i totally recommend it it's like part blackberry nd part iphone lol...once in awhile it freezes up on my though...i dunno y maybe cuz i dropped it a couple times or cuz i downloaded too many songs...but overall it's really a great phone i love it to death :)

I have this phone switched from the iPhone 3g , I can customize every thing !!! , if I don't like some thing I just download another one and make it my default !!! it gives you more freedom , and that is what I hated about my iphone that apple over restricted it .

I have been using sense UI on my HTC magic witch has the same specs as the hero. I really love the whole idea of Hero but the lag is a killer using 3g is much slower than on my iPhone, lack of landscape mode in other apps then browser (example sms) not as much options with the HTC mail app compared to the the gmail app. I also think that the impossibility to use the SD card for app storage is a also downer as their isn't even 1g of internal. they really have to up those specs.

hey jon 1. this phone is due out on october for sprint. 2. there is an updated software where they show that the lagginess is gone..so HTC is polishing it as we speak. by the time it gets to sprint somewhere between october 11-21..it should be as good as the pre if not better.

yes the hero is better. the hardware itself is better and the htc sense just needs more optimization.

the g1 is soon to become obsolete. i love my g1,but with android phones coming out with better hardware and specs its just hard to not want to ditch my g1..

The App Store is horrible. I mean I spend a lot of money there because I need Apps but it really is a horrible idea, I'm all for Apple and I love my iPhone but Palm has the right idea. It's all about WEB APPS! I mean back in the day of the original iPhone that's all there was and it sold like crazy. And all in all it's much better because you can multi-task and the developers can charge a subscription rather than a one time fee. That's just my thoughts :)
