I use to take Wellbutrin too but I never had a reaction as bad as yours, it didn't seem to really work to treat my depresstion , but I did start being real forgetful about stuff. I stopped useing Wellbutrin a few years ago. I use weed now to treat my depresstion , I vaporize every night before bed and the next day I feel good and not sad. It may not be for you but I though I showed share this with you. It works great for me, I can't ever think of going back to prescription drugs again!
try amnitripthyline you take it in the night time it knocks you out done me for 3 years straight.. only one i took that i didnt have to come up on it worked straight away
Im so glad I came across your video. This may give me my life back.--I took Wellbutrin for 1yr and half. Worked like a miracle. Slowly I started getting dizzy spells, spinning, concentration issues, (bad ones) then constant fog in my head. (I have M.S. but my Neurologist seems the culprit is Wellbutrin--then my Phsych. says."stay on it & do smaller doses" ) Im going to get off it and see if this works for me. Wish me luck!
i take it for anxiety. im on 100mg once a day. my body is very sensitive to ssri's , yeah i know the fuzzy feeling. had last nite at work with a full bar. i just walk away go to the cooler and im ok. it weighs out to be better then worse. i take it at bed time instead of wake up cause it seems to work better
Placebo has SAME effects as antidepressants. Pharmaceutical companies just pay FDA and Psychiatrists to cover the negative results and publish the results they want.
Oh yeah paxil withdrawl is fucked up to........ i just forgot to fill in my prescription and had to go thru the weekend without it.........holy fucking shit paxil withdrawl is HELL its the worst withdrawl outta any antiD i tryeed
What was your initial dosage when you started it? Was it XL or SR? Have you been diagnosed with GAD/Panic Disorder before? Bupropion (wellbutrin) can often act as a trigger for those. Hence depersonalization/derealization (generally described as bad trip).
Don't despair though, about it being the 7th med you tried. I've tried even more :-) Bupropion was my 9th (!) and almost solved it for me. Right now I am taking unconventional antidep. mix - Amitryptilline, Baclofen and, periodically Bupropion
maybe i heard you wrong on the other video but did u say u were taking wellbutrin twice a day? what was your dose/mg's? Reason I ask is because I took 150 for 2 months then doc up'd to 300 mg. But I only take it in morning because its a stimulant. I think u had issues because u took it twice a day. To counteract the insomnia at night, you need a suppressor to turn down the wellbutrin's stimulation. My doc prescribed risperidone, I didnt like it so I take ativan OR ambien to sleep.
Im worried.... My condition is worst but it went up 1st and now its went down.... i feel horrible i cant go anywhere. My heart beats weird sometimes im nervous and thoughts running threw my head could not focus on a dam thing... i felt like i was going nuts.... this happend on 12/17/10..... today im just weird idk what to do...i had high hopes for wellbutrin
@johnsondkf how many mgs did you take per day? i barely started with 150 today and i feel good. i am a caffeine addict; i drink energy drinks but i'm cutting down now because of wellbutrin. i drank tea instead.
Wellbutrin is SPEED. My ex became addicted. Anyone here unable to withdraw from this crap. Why do u think it keeps you up, makes you not eat and increases your sex drive. ITS SPEED folks, legalized speed
@sosadone1 That's not true. Speed is meth amphetamine, dextro amphetamine, or amphetamine. It's a stimulant. It makes your heart rate increase, and it makes your blood pressure increase. It will decrease all blood-flow to your extremities. Wellbutrin does not have this effect on your body whatsoever. It effects serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake between synapses. Just because something has a similar reaction to speed does not mean its speed. Don't ruin it for others b/c of ur hubby
@Darpinion YES it does speed up your heart rate and it works on norepinephrine and dopeimine you need to do some more research pal. My resting heart rate was like 100 per min.
@sosadone1 I have been on and off of it for 6 years. I found it to be incredibly safe with no longterm effects. Sometimes I forget to take it and it drags on for weeks...guess I don't need it those days. Most people do not find it addictive though. It is aminoketone, not exactly an amphetamine. So I guess your ex's experience shows how different our physiologies are.
However, when this drug is injected - it does act very differently. Some likened it to a cocaine high. It also damages veins...
it didnt work for me at all!! :( i had so much anxiety about the side effects that i didnt wanna take it anymore! it made me more emotional than i usually am and it wasnt good for me because i work long hours at a retail store and i have to keep myself composed most of the time..soo yea. i ended up switching to a generic form of ritalin instead thats helped my work ethic AND my mood! :)
you probably took too much of that medicine. what wellbutrin does is it gives you this drug called dopamine, and the more you take, the faster your heart races. the faster your heart races, the more unfocused you get. For instance if you are running a couple of miles, at the end you start to feel a little light headed and dizzy. in smaller amounts of wellbutrin it should help you focus. but it sounds like you are taking too much, because the same thing happened to me.
i haven't started taking mine yet, but if i start to feel this way i'll get back to you...my doctor gave me a one-a-day wellbutrin so idk if its the same one you had...i'll keep this in mind though..
you're cute. anywayz I took Wellbutrin for about 6 months, by itself, it was the only anti-depressant i've ever taken, and I had the same reaction. At first it was awesome but after awhile I became forgetful, fuzzy, and eventually loss of motivation to goto class while finals were approaching! but being on wellbutrin i didn't much care lol. It really worried me and eventually I stopped taking it because i feared that it may be having some long term effect on my brain.
Try a mood stabilizer. You don't have to have bipolar for it to work. Lithium or lamictal has the strongest antidepressant action of the mood stabilizers.
I've tried a long list of meds too, and haven't found anything that works yet. Wellbutrin made me on edge and sensitive to noise & light. After being presented with retrying Effexor I gave up with psych meds. I even had a brain scan to see if anything physical was wrong. The tiredness would never go away so I did some sleep studies and even tried a CPAP machine, which kept me awake. Not sure what to do now. I subscribed to see if something works for you that I can try!
Did you have physical agitation as well? Sometimes just lowering the dose helps. Its exasperating, but don't give up.
I went through horrible side effects for a couple of months when i first started paroxetine (paxil). They eventually went away and now i wouldn't trade the stuff because it truly helps with my social anxiety and dysthymia.
Dude, maybe your depression is not actually "plain depression" but a bipolar mood disorder. And perhaps the Wellbutrin sent you into mania (you can have trouble focusing with mania too). See a good psychiatrist and get a thorough evaluation.
Read Lizzie Simon's book, Detour: My Bipolar Road Trip in 4-D. On pp. 14-21, she talks about what an antidepressant med did to her.
are you taking it alone or in combo with an ssri?
