you know what's funny? teens and young girls in their 20s are dressing like Vanessa's two friends when theyre in clubs, or even weddings, or EVEN To school, but people dont have the same viewpoint on it like Clair does in this. This whole generation and world is tainted, and im only 21 and see this for my generation. its pretty sad.
@DesertRoseCapri Not where I lived when I was their age. Wearing that to school would have gotten them sent straight home and it wasn't a school with uniforms. That kind of dress what just simply not appropriate. We were not even allowed to wear hats outside because it was school grounds and no hats on school grounds. @Destinyiluvdebate in the 80s and 90s that was a very good score...in fact that was the score you needed atleast in order to be considered by elite colleges including the Ivy League schools and similar caliber places.

BTW does anyone know whether during this time period the SAT was out of 1600 or 2400? I know now they're out of 2400 and that a few years ago they were out of 1600. But some of my teachers tell me that when they took it it was out of 2400 as well. Just curious!
@SKsquashbass12 definitely 1600. it switched over to 2400 when i was in high school, around 2008-9...i had to take them again because one of the colleges i applied to wanted the 2400 test and not the 1600.

This was another awesome episode. When the Cosby Show writers (Bill Cosby and the like) decided to create confrontations between Vanessa and Claire, the show became even more awesome. They had a good picture of teenage life.
Vanessa obviously needs to be reintroduced to Clair Huxtable if she thought her mom would approve of that and not say/yell something at her. Common sense isn't so common.
What this episode represents to me is: when you go against what your parents want for you, that tends to cause friction between you, and your folks. Especially if they've got dreams of you going to college to become a doctor, or a lawyer, or even a teacher. And you decide that you want to do something else, especially showbiz (since it's hard to break into, and there's no gaurantee that you'll make it)!!!
wow, i cant believe they wore them in front of their parents thinking they wouldnt have a problem with it. they say those that are booksmart lack common sense. priiiiime example lol.

What cracks me up about this is the other girls just look like teenagers trying to copy what they see on MTV. Vanessa on the other hand is working the moves a little too well. If that were my daughter I'd freak, although not as hilariously as Claire!
Cuz in previous episodes, Denise decided to go to Africa to study Pigmies, then Sandra, after all the money they spent sending her to Princeton, decided she wanted to forgo law school and open a "Wilderness Store" with Elvin. In Brooklyn of all places..LOL. And now Vanessa is prancing around half dressed singing about doing the Locomotion. I think poor Claire has just finally had enough of her kids crazyness..LOL

Now, im danish! And when i see this family i am thinking.. they are NOT as strict as u make them sound! The girls has to be 15 to wear make-up, i think that its a fair rule and that bigger breast thing is just stupid! i dont get why girls do that -.-
Now when i see at some girls today.. 12 year olds wearing make-up and belly rings tight jeans and shirts where there fake boobs are falling out of!

Claire needs to calm down, and let her kids do a few things that she doesn't like. We don't "own" our children.
Getting that angry- it only raises the blood pressure, releases too much cortisol in the system, messes with your adrenal cortex, and the parent gets sick.
My daughter - at age 16 - OMG, she was a piece of work! and I just had to breathe deep and let her do some trial and error

Whats the fuss about, all singing acts with young women have skimpy clothes, sexual moves and microtalents, Vanessa opened the market for this stuff. Its a good episode though, esp when Rudy says "I thought they were hot!" and Claire goes "Maybe you should go up to your room and cool off"

This was another awesome episode. When the Cosby Show writers (Bill Cosby and the like) decided to create confrontations between Vanessa and Claire, the show became even more awesome. They had a good picture of teenage life.

What this episode represents to me is: when you go against what your parents want for you, that tends to cause friction between you, and your folks. Especially if they've got dreams of you going to college to become a doctor, or a lawyer, or even a teacher. And you decide that you want to do something else, especially showbiz (since it's hard to break into, and there's no gaurantee that you'll make it)!!!

I don't see anything wrong with what the girls did it's their life probably because they're under eighteen but there's nothig wrong in wanting to be famous and rich or succes ful .this was a bit too conservative now ,I agreethe tissues were stupid but the reaction wasn't realistic at all people that was too much this is only a program tv episode but it's wasn't realistic in case you don't know how kids today dress and behave under fourteen itself

Cuz in previous episodes, Denise decided to go to Africa to study Pigmies, then Sandra, after all the money they spent sending her to Princeton, decided she wanted to forgo law school and open a "Wilderness Store" with Elvin. In Brooklyn of all places..LOL. And now Vanessa is prancing around half dressed singing about doing the Locomotion. I think poor Claire has just finally had enough of her kids crazyness..LOL

Also, technically the only outfit that's outrageous is Vanessa's. The other two, despite the low backs, are ok. I see girls wearing stuff like that all the time, and they think it's cute. Personally I wouldn't wear it, but I don't see the big deal really.
