My perspective of American Conservatives are that they are incredibly idealistic in their fundamental beliefs. For example, those that are against welfare in America argue that people shouldn't be forced to pay taxes to help others. They argue that the poor are poor because they don't work hard enough, and most of the time it isn't simple (at all), so I'd argue that Liberals are more attached to the real world than Conservatives, certainly in the US at least.
Liberals like to tapdance around important issues with technicalities and euphemisms whereas REAL Conservatives address the issue head on. Tell me, what real change has Obama brought to the country?

99% of all these "Hollywood conservatives" have one thing suspiciously in common: they are born-again evangelicals Christians from the South. The other 1% are either libertarians or "Republican-lites" like Clint Eastwood, who admits voting for Clinton twice and isn't really much of a conservative.
