what are the one or two small wires on the left side of the hoist way?

@Balarick They are position wires. There is a magnetic metal plate on them at each floor and there maybe two or 3 on each landing so when the metal plate passes the reader it knows that is to slow down the second plate is to level and the 3rd is to completely stop. It maybe an infa-red reader but this looks like a computerised one.

Wow! Now that's come out MUCH better than I thought it would. Looks quite a small lift from the car roof. Very nice vid, but take care HH!

That's quite some distance without any stops. Is there another lift serving that part of the building?

@TarzanAndConz i would think so. people wouldn't walk up or down that many steps.
