TehRealT11: Lync is the proper spelling. I was not able to find much about it either, but it is out of production. I did not search for days, however. Try "Lync 4" and "keytar" and you will get some hits. Not many, just tried.

Send me your email address, and I will send you the only photo I have, Donald Fagen with the Lync LN-4 on the cover of some magazine. Perhaps you can find the article. I believe there was another model, the 100, which was the last the company produced.  Love that sound...

What synthesizers were used in this song? Did Donald Fagen perhaps use Fairlight CMI at the time?

The accents may be, and probably are, a Lync 4 as used by Fagen on the Kmakiriad album and subsequent tours. Totally cool sound. Don't know if there is a new version, hard or soft.  I think that company went bust years ago, but I am just trolling my memories. If you search and find out some concrete info, I would be most interested, and I will supply you with my email address, but not on a page...

It was a synth designed as a "Keytar" type of deal. Slung over the shoulder like a guitar; right hand on the keys, left on the controllers. This one had a great sound. Sadly, it died out, but I am happy it made it onto Fageen's recordings. Sort of adds to the mystique.
