And actually I just watched the solo by slash and he does use the first three fingers on the first part and the 3rd and 4rth fingers on the second part (still using the second finger for b string note)
@chadgarber Honestly it doesn't matter so long as get the sound you want. I do it my way because I like encouraging people to use their fourth finger since the world has too many three fingered guitarists ;)
Sorry for all the question but it seems a lot easier for me to do the whole first phrase with my first three fingers and using my second finger for the b string and then to use my 3rd and 4th fingers for the second part the lick while still using the second finger on the b string note. Thoughts?
hey what kind of effects do you use?i know there is some delay and reverb but i what know if you use the overdrive from the amp or a pedal and what are your amps settings like treble, midlle, bass, gain.thanks man you rock!!
Good work!!! Very good videos, the best slash´s licks lessons on internet. Very easy to understand, don´t need tabs at all!!! (those ones who ask for tab must be very lazy and don´t deserve this blessing). The animations are ok, watch them is a little price to pay for : )
thx its impossible for me to learn solos off paper but ur videos i watch one time and know immediatley this has helped me im press many teachers and in audtitions thanks alot
thanks for the video,i have learn many licks from you man...you're a good teacher...and one other things that I respected you,you have a good fingering...i couldn't catch up with you...i'm just a bigginner...
Dude, you're awesome regardless of whether you're a beginner or not. You have the right attitude and with some practice you'll play these licks faster than me!
It's very flattering that you would like to learn a riff I wrote! Tabbing and doing these video lessons take a lot of time but when I get the chance l'll make a lesson video for it.
@mashflutter Your licks are awesome. I just watched the 6 videos and maybe you don't need to make a tab video but maybe you could simply write the tabs and put a download link where the people who watch the video could download it.
Absolutely great job, I'll surely learn those licks and try to see what I can do once I learned them all and can play them at the right speed.
Thanks for the time you put on your videos. Btw some parts are completely random and hilarious just like at 00:40.
Many many thanks! I have thought about adding tabs, however, I think that these lessons are simple and short enough that tabs are not really needed. But trust me, I have thought about it. Also I have no doubt that you will learn the licks at the right speed. Finally thank you so much for appreciating and understanding our random sense of humor!
this man is my idol...after Slash of course! what a savage lick that is, thanks for the lesson man, you seem like a really cool guy. if you get the chance I'm sure every Slash fan would appreciate your effort.
Thank you very much stratoshorty27! Yeah, I'm using reverb and delay very sparingly. You want the tone to really come from your fingers. Too many effects can sound cheesy.
You're totally welcome!! With a little practice your pinky finger can be strong too. It's really worth practicing and using because you'll become a more versatile guitarist.
Wow, this is one hell of a compliment. Thank you so much. And thanks again for listening to our original music!!!
Honestly, I really haven't thought about putting tabs together just yet. Doing the tabs correctly would take some time. If enough people ask I'll do it!
hi men, great lessons!!!!, they really helped me out dig slash's tone and technique. PLEASE do some new lessons fron the Paris 92 Solo, please. thanks and keep on rocking!!!! : )
Thanks for these. They were exactly what I was looking for. There seems to be a limit to how fast I can play each one, been playing for years but the hand isn't strong enough to do it..

There's another problem; the string I'm bending and finger go under the g string...I've noticed that when I bend, I use the first finger to cover the g and d strings to make them all flat.
Are these licks possible on a high action/cheap guitar?
I got a question though. I have a hard time getting a good sound when I hammer on with my 4th finger, any tips for strengthening a pinky finger and getting that down?
The best tip I can give you is to keep playing this lick. If you like it, you will continue to be motivated to practice it. There's no magic excercise to strengthen your pinky, you just have to keep using it.
hey i love this lick and you do it so well. I think in time i can do this lick but itt eels awkward because im doing some thinking while doing this lick since im not used to it. just out of curiosity how long did it take you to master this lick and the others for that matter?
Honestly, I'm not sure how long it took me to learn this lick. Playing anything new always feels awkward. But trust me, the more you practice it, the easier it will get.
Dude, really thanks a lot for those licks! Not only that they are ass-kickin', but also you explained them in a very cool way. Best wishes to your career! Maciej
Yeah, it shows! Btw - I assume that the music that plays in the cutscenes of these videos is by your band? Sounds pretty tight...Do you have a record?
Yes, the music in the cutscenes is indeed our original stuff. There are 4 full hi-res tracks available for FREE of our website! No ads, no e-mail addresses, none of that bullshit. Just download and enjoy;) A record will be forthcoming eventually;)
Thank you very much! Yes, it's a Gibson Les Paul standard. Settings will be difficult to discuss because I'm not actually using an amp at all. It's a VST Instrument called Guitar Rig 3 made by Native Instruments. Check it out, it's pretty sweet.
could that vst guitar rig thing be any more fricking confusing i googled it and i wasnt even planning on downloading it and i just got confused looking at all of it i think that its more fun to have a real amp and find your own sound through it but that sound you have there is pretty fucking nice and ive never seen that type of sunburst i think its nice
You make a good point. While there's nothing like jamming out on a really nice tube amp, I've come to rely on GR3 because my bandmate lives in NY and I live in LA. So it's really easy to lay down great sounding guitar tracks without all of the gear, cords, pedals, etc. and I can just e-mail them off. In fact, I haven't used a real amp for any of the music I've done for Mash and Flutter.
well i think if that gr3 thing was easier to use id try it out but i like tube amps more and just blasting it to when you walk out of the room you have to scream to talk to people cuz your ears are ringing
In my humble opinion, Slash's best guitar tone was on the first Snakepit album, 'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere.' His tone was just killer on that record (also a very underrated rock record too.)

His tone on Ain't Life Grand to the last two VR records have done nothing for me unfortunately. His tone nowadays just lacks the attitude and aggression it used to have.
