When I was little I wanted braces. I did not get them (dr didnt see a reason for it)- when i was 20 i was diagnosed with TMJ. if i had braces when i was young, it would have prevented this. Why didnt anyone listen to me? now i live a life of chronic pain. braces not only straighten teeth, but widen your palette. with a narrow palette, tmj is more likely to occur. sad story

I have to wear my rubber bands the same way to do :) except I didn't have a bad underbite, all my bottom teeth had to do was move a little forward then I would have an underbite. I have had my braces for almost 3 years but I should be getting them off this summer! Your teeth look great!

What a difference. :) I had my braces taken off early because they were ripping my mouth apart and I lost 20lbs during that time because they were so painful (couldn't even drink without shocks of it). So glad to see you made it through the process!

such healthy gums....;) my braces are a different kind that didnt require any elastics, which also meant i couldnt choose the colour i liked, only silver brackets to hold the wires in place. much more expensive than the common braces too.. but totally worth it! yay for bracefaces:)

I was born without two teeth (the ones on either side of my top two front teeth) so I sort of grew tiny fangs instead, and after like 5 years of work and two false teeth later I now have perfect teeth! It takes so long and it's so annoying but it's worth it in the end! I'm glad your teeth turned out so great! :D

@afrogurly you can actually have any chewy or hard candy you want. they say not to, but as long as you just suck on them and don't bite them it's totally fine! lol I did xD you can also have gum, but not bubble gum because it's too sticky! You can chew regular STICKS of gum :)

i feel the pain my dear! i've had braces for 4 years, went through 2 surgeries because of a tooth in the roof of my mouth (wtf) which they pulled all the way to its place, had another surgery for a bone graph and i got the expander for 1 year before all of this... over 16 000 $ in my mouth but in the end, it is sooooo worth it!
