  • God bless you doctors standing up to be heard. This is a Democracy and where is freedom of speech ammendment? I am sorry that you have a logical valid opinion on healthcare reform and your voice is squashed. Keep up the good fight- your hearts are appreciated and your opinion matters!

  • Basically what im trying to say is that your level of care isnt dependant on how deep your pockets are. good luck USA

  • Im an Australian and we have a socialised health system. Sure its not perfect but i can tell you one thing, you never get turned away for not having health insurance. You never get booted out of hospital on the day of major surgery because your insurance company decides not to accept your claim. And ya know what..you can still have private heath insurance if you can afford it..its optional .. not a must to get heathcare in our country..i hope you get the bill passed..only greed will stop it

  • Great lesson on civil disobedience! These womyn ROCK!!!!

  • Blue Cross has just announced that it's immediately raising premiums charged to hundreds of thousands of individual customers by as much as 39% -- even though their parent company's profits soared to a record $4.7 billion last year.

Even worse, the insurer has so far refused to explain why they're increasing their rates, and warned that they might do so again this year without warning

  • "Trespassing" is one of those bullshit charges the BPD uses for anyone they don't like. Just like "Disorderly Conduct" with the NYPD. HAHA

    Nice civil disobedience, doctor!

  • Thanks for filming the arrest of these dimwits. Great video showing how clueless these women are. Great ending.

  • Hr676 Universal HC for all people we r having a slient genocied in USA and the United Nations looks the other way so should we with donations

  • "Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; it's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

  • Yes, Churchill was a master propagandist. FAIL!

  • Incorporate and then they will listen to you. Only corporations can speak whenever and wherever they want to make politicians do what they want.

  • vote 4 only 100 % constitutionalist that know it and will pertect it and the amendments

  • PART ONE

UNIVERSAL SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE ... EVERYONE COVERED AT HALF THE COST

OBAMA a corporate toady, a weak, cowardly bribe taking thief, betraying the citizens

SCOFF at his fatuous, inane, and pompous platitudes; the dimwit appears to believe his own drivel

  • PART TWO

ELECTORAL STRATEGY ... inflict collective electoral punishment on the ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ... don't differentiate, don't vote for ANY DEM, reduce them to a mere handful of obedient fearful politicians who grovel for public approval

  • exactly lortrek! Punish and destroy the Democratic Party. Do NOT vote or support them, there are MANY more of us then there are the teabaggers.

  • Who is "us", and what the hell do the teabaggers have to do with anything you just said?

  • get a life, crank.

  • HAHAHA. EPIC WIN.

  • Tgay, you are a whackjob. Why are you even on here? If you do not like Single Payer, go watch FOX News, the propaganda arm of the GOP and spew all of the right-wing crap you want and go blog with your Freeper brothers and sisters elsewhere.

If you were truly interested in Medicare for All, you would bother researching it, as anonymousb2b said below, not posting a very long list of substance-free, asinine rants....

  • ....And win? You haven't won anything, except and all expense paid trip to he funny farm if anyone ever exposes your identity, you right-wing nut!

    Anon: ignore this loser.

  • What do you do, go to single payer videos and flame people all day? Get a life, I agree with the person below.

  • PART THREE

BE AS HERACLES, in his fifth labor: CLEAN OUT THE AEGEAN STABLE

For the fifth labor, Eurystheus ordered Hercules to clean up King Augeas' stables. Hercules knew this job would mean getting dirty and smelly, but sometimes even a hero has to do these things. Then Eurystheus made Hercules' task even harder: he had to clean up after the cattle of Augeas in a single day. ... that single day is ELECTION DAY

  • thank you ladies.

  • Medicare is simply underfunded. If we stopped our stupid foreign adventures & cut back on our insanely bloated military budget we'd have plenty of money for a well-funded medicare system for EVERYBODY.

  • newsflash - medicare is insolvent

  • @CaptHeadcase

Insolvency means the inability to pay one's debts as they fall due. Usually used to refer to a business, insolvency refers to the inability of a company to pay off its debts.

Medicare has ceased paying it's debts? That is a news flash. What is your source?

Granted, Medicare is projected to become insolvent in several years time, that's why we need real reform now.

  • johnnorv

The Post Office manages to send a piece of paper from Miami to Alaska for less than $.50. Since reorganization into an independent organization, the USPS has become self-sufficient and has not directly received taxpayer-dollars since the early 1980s

The US Post Office was created under Benjamin Franklin (socialist?) in 1775. After 235 years of existence, it doesn't seem to be a failure to me, rather part of the heritage Americans can be proud of .

Go Dr. Flowers. Medicare for all!

  • @AnonymousB2B ageed

  • @onekinkstar wow look stupid for standing up for what is right? Are you American??? She is a brave woman doing the right thing! we all need to stick together and stand up for each other.

  • Oh, I'm an American alright, BUT that has nothing to do with her sounding like an idiot! People are telling her to leave their property! Then the police come and she STILL stands there arguing about BS that doesn't matter to them! Geez, the health care debate has nothing to do with the 'big business' that is a hotel, why should they have this hassle? She has a medical degree, and this is the BEST she can do? I am NOT impressed, and again, she doesn't speak for me.

  • @onekinkstar you missing the BIG picture here. The whoe thing about hotel property is BS they know this is an issue ppl need to be aware of. Have you listened to any of her speeches? It's sad to see some ppl will never wake up.

  • @onekinkstar you sound very angry and if you don't support Dr. Flowers then why did you bother to look at the vid and write comments. Now that is a waste of time. I'm not talking just to you about waking up. Look at our country as a whole and see how it is falling apart. Because we let it and don't stand up. I'm done.

  • @mlbourgeois126, you're the one with the accusations, jumping on me, so don't try to say I'm angry, because I'm cool.

It's best to look and listen to others, to help form your own opinions, so that's why I'm here. Not what I expected though, considering they have medical degrees! Out-of-touch with reality I guess.

WE do need to take a stand, and stop hoping for the best. Become more involved by using the crappy system to make it better. I encourage everyone to Vote 'em OUT!

  • @onekinkstar history is full of people "breaking the law": committing civil disobedience for change. I dont give a shit about this hotel's so-called "rights". Rights are for humans and all of our rights are being violated by not having government-run health care like EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED country.

  • The "hotel's rights" are actually that of the hotel owner, so don't look ignorant and say that "rights are for humans". Also, please tell me what "rights are being violated"? I am unfamiliar of any right to government-run health care.

  • the hotel is owned by a corporation, not a private individual: and corporations are considered persons in teh eyes of the law. And studies do show that Canadians support public health care.

Try reading and researching sometime; you are clearly unfamiliar with anything on this topic.

  • Even though socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried. The Left think you are wiser than the collective intelligence of millions of free market decision makers. Sorry -No Way. Some socialist ideas that have failed here. Post Office, Amtrack, social security, medicare(Broke), Fanny Mae(Broke), Freddy Mac(Broke), welfare, Bailing out GM&Chrysler, Gmac,

Some socialist ideas that work here??? Can't think of any. I think it's a good idea to say NO to more of these expensive failures!

  • john, you are a one trick pony:

generalizations about "the big, bad, Left".

    Yawn, you are boring.

  • You mean the insane radical left!

  • I wouldn't bother to credit the Left with being big and bad.

  • Physicians for a National Health Program have posted Dr Flowers' open letter to President Obama.

  • I hear that Dr Flowers is in a segment on Bill Moyers Journal on PBS this weekend, tonight (Friday Feb 5th) in Maryland. It's action like this that is getting attention in the media for expanding Medicare to all. Well done Drs. Flowers and Paris

  • an example of civil valor!

  • I appreciate your efforts and support your cause.

  • Standing up for a great cause. I applaud your efforts. I wish I were so brave...

  • Thank you Drs for getting out there---pleading for us---on an issue that is nie unto eugenics at this point! We will never forget your bravery! We love you--you are our heros.

  • Thank you Dr. Flowers and Dr. Paris !!!

How about a march o Washington for Medicare for all !!

I'm sure their are progressive people in Congress who would support this like Mr. Kucinich , Mr. Franken , Mr. Grayson ,,,,

  • Thank you, Dr. Flowers and Dr. Paris for civil disobedience with intelligence and class. Please keep up the good fight. Liamh2, it would be great if you mention (and tag) the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel in the first line... they clearly stated their political beliefs by requesting this arrest. I will never stay at this, or any other, Renaissance Hotel again.

  • This is terrific! Improved medicare for all.

  • Thanks DoobieDonna,

Counterpunch, under Feb 1st. Dr Paris gives an account of this event.

  • they are in private property there will be ramifications if your trespass and they did

  • See DEMOCRATZ dott ORG and sign a petition for the public option that actually appears single payer but will allow private insurance but will not cost anything to those who choose this single payer public option. Get as many people as you can to sign this eptition.

  • public option is NOT single payer. Public options is a SCAM

  • Keep stopping the public option, I'm sure at some point everyone will just say ahhh the heck with it, let's just have that single payer thingy.

  • The Democrats are the PROBLEM

  • Tee hee hee, we agree.

  • Btw, Dr. Paris wrote a great article called "Staying When They Tell You To Leave" over on Counterpunch (YouTube won't allow URLs).

  • goons with guns attacking ladies.

  • Also, there aren't any 'No Trespassing' signs visible. I didn't know one could trespass out side a hotel entrance. Is this a new thing? If business men are outside talking on their cell phones, do they insist they do that on the other side of the street?

  • ska. It seems you don't get it. Of course this was a media event. No thin veil. Of course it was their own camera, the Big Media isn't interested unless events like this are staged. Single Payer hasn't gotten the media coverage it deserves considering how many support it. You might interpret their responses as childish and irresponsible but that doesn't mean they were. Watch it again and see if you can understand what they are trying to convey to Obama and the rest of us.

  • ska: we do NOT get change by "sending letters" to bought-off politicians, history shows this. As I said below, if these drs were holding up 'Let's Go Ravens!" signs or an Orioles sign, the hotel people and police would not have cared and would have let them stay. Someone was probably getting hurt or victimized that the police COULD HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN helping instead of asting their time with this....

  • ...And you say that the police "showed incredible restraint"??? Please. Why, because they did not crack heads and start yelling? I hope you are not in any position of authority.

    Way to go Drs!!!

  • *** Sorry, ladies, but you didn't get it: You were trespassing on private property. - skaizun

No - YOU don't get it. The doctors were fully aware that they were trespassing on private property. It's called "civil disobedience", a tradition that's as American as apple pie. I encourage other Americans who are just as frustrated as the good doctors to follow their lead. We need more if it.

  • The Republicans NEED all that security so that they can stay insulated from the public. At the end of this video you can hear a policeman's horse's hoofs clomping, for crowd control. These doctors did what we should all be doing.

  • impeachykeen: you are right, but the Democrats are insulated too! It's both parties.

  • This is so sad watching nice people pleading to the beast to do the right thing. Obama ain't gonna listen anyway.

  • Thank you! More of us should be joining you!

  • Thanks for standing up for all of us!!!

  • The Good Doctors should have rented a hotel room! I don't know how much this would have changed the Driveway being "private property", but "renting" the property could have been considered their "temporary home." Therefore, making it their property to demonstrate their political views? Am I wrong???

  • Brava, ladies...

  • Why is it so hard to do the right thing in the good ol' USA? Keep fighting for us, docs!

  • I'm guessing that hotel personnel, as well as that police department, will be monitoring this video and the comments posted in response to it. At least I sure hope they will. Civil rights have been violated. On top of that, I want to add this: Some people want to destroy freedom of speech, but single payer advocates will not be silenced!

  • Obama is a liar. He pretends that no one will question his COURAGEOUS challenge, 'if you know a better way, I wanna know.' Full of poop. Health care as a human right is the new civil rights movement. These women resisting the systematic marginalization (as the psychiatrist points out) of that which is human,,,is beautiful and courageous and the beginning of the de-commodification of health care.

  • I had the priviledge to meet Dr. Flowers at a retreat over New Year's. Amazing, amazing woman. Dr. Flowers, you are awesome! Stay strong!

  • Our casino nanny state with it's high tech police sucks.

  • Thank you, Drs. Paris and Flowers. I'm very proud of you.

  • This courageous and honorable act of civil disobedience has necessity defense written all over it. Congratulations!

  • This video should be such an eye-opening for americans. Here are two qualified, well-behaved women doctors trying to exercise freedom of speech, and do something good for ALL americans (except big insurance and big pharma of course) and they get driven off and arrrested. Thank you Drs Paris and Flowers. This hotel should be shut down. Use your pocketbooks america!

  • we should boycott this hotel

  • If you boycott, I think they should add it to their list of amenities that they are now "100% Free from all Crazies". I will bow before you if you can put a 5% decline in their next quarters profits from the previous year, and with the weakened economy you've got odds on your side.

  • Thank you so much. If the hotel needed a doctor they would not complain about them trespassing.

  • If this were a ball game and they had a big RAVENS or Os sign, no one would care, the hotel people would let them stay, so the arguments about private property: WEAK!!!

  • johnnorvaisas - you say goodbye, but keep coming back. You appear to have run out of ideas and have been reduced to characterizations. I welcome your thoughts as they help me focus on mine. Have a nice day.

  • Tell those on medicare to go back to Aetna,

Tell the veterans to to give up their government run (socialized) health care and go back to BlueCross. Tell all your right wing senators and congressmen to give up their tax payer funded health care too and go back to whatever for profit insurance company they prefer. Oh, what? They have the choice but decide to stick with the government. Really?

  • Please John get out of this video. You are either dumb or work for the insurance company.

  • I hope Obama loses on this issue, too. Because it is NOT single payer/medicare for all that he supports, Obama is doing all that he can to appease the HMOs and pharmeceuticals. The point is to abolish HMOs.

  • Why do you feel an everything or nothing option is the correct solution? Wouldn't you find rationale in the concept of taking steps in that direction to make it possible to ascertain such a lofty goal?

  • to Y0uEnj0yMyself

The arrest is part of the protest. If they had been hanging out chatting, with no banner or camera, I doubt they would have been asked to move across the street. Neither would there have been a story.

US politicians have socialized health care. It seems to work for them. Why wouldn't it work for everyone?

    Go Drs. Flowers and Paris.

  • To the people saying they didn't deserve to be arrested, you do know they are violating the law by not leaving the property when asked?

  • johnnorvaisas

Your president, senators and congress folks all enjoy government run, taxpayer paid health care for life. If it was no good, why do they keep it when they have the power to change it. Just give me what they have and I'll be happy, whether it's socialist, capitalist or whatever.

  • How did they become doctors if they don't know about private property and trespassing. They are looking like fools with their argument.

All protest are out of the way. That is why protests don't work unless there are a lot of people that make sense.

How does two people getting arrested make a point

Because the issue then turns to a free speech argument instead of making the point for which they were supposedly there.

I remember them getting arrested but their issues escape me. Don't eat meat

  • Good one LOL Dr Flowers is a nut job!

If they got what they wanted socialist healthcare they would then bitch in about 5 to 8 years down the road that we don't have enough doctors because nobody would want to become a doctor just like in Canada then the leftist radicals would scream that the government should pay more for doctors and then if it would happen we would really get the tax screw job.But the left never look at the big picture it's all about control with them.

  • the Canadians, I know because I actually have been to Canada many times, DO NOT want a US healthcare system, even the conservative Canadians.

Also, I hate to tell you: two thirds of doctors and and 60% of the American people want single payer.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but YOU ARE NOT entitled to your own facts!

Thank you Dr Flowers! A physician who DOES NOT toe the line of the bought-off AMA.

  • Your right i forgot you elitist liberals know it all us regular people don't know shit right?

    Lol

Move to Canada ok go enjoy that far worse garbage health care they have ok.

    Bye!

  • I am NOT elistist. I grew up poor on AFDC and foodstamps. My undergraduate education started at community college and was funded by Pell Grants. I AM a regular person.

Please try to see things for how they are and stop stereotyping people.

  • A third of the HMo health care costs go into red tape and bureaucracy, you should be a fan of getting rid of that! Look at the jobs that sp would create! We could put more money into wellness centers and preventative medicine, that would create jobs, the jobs, would shift, just as all jobs do with technological changes. ...

  • Smaller government being the solution, and job creation?... Your politics truly have me perplexed considering your earlier statements. Maybe there is hope for you yet.

  • ....50,000 die per year from lack of health care, and thousands of bankruptcies p year are filed becuase of health care costs, in Europe, this is unheard of, no one should have to die, suffer, or go broke becuase of lack of health care costs.

  • Where do you come up with the 50,000 some say 45,000 some say 40,000 it just seems like numbers being throw out in the air i'm sorry but i hope it fails sorry.

  • No one dies from "lack of health care". People die from disease. Death is inevitable, suffering is inevitable. The debate lies in the money. Do we continue a system of rationing health care based on who can afford it (pure capitalism)? Or, do we change the system and ration through other methods?

  • 'No one dies from "lack of health care"."

You can't be THAT fucking stupid. 40,000 people do per year. The system works great if you are rich.

  • @AnonymousB2B thats is it. were going to save a measly 40000 people? hell that many die of flu lets not do it and save the budget for a moon shot.

  • @johnnorvaisas

you obviously don't know a damn thing jackass. The canadien system is not perfect but is MUCH better for more people than ours. Idiots like you shouldn't be allowed to own computer but of course that would go against freedom of speech - even for dipshits like you!

  • @johnnorvaisas

I'm a conservative/libertarian you idiot! Apparently I'm a true conservative, or at least a thinking one. What's your solution to the health care mess brainiac?

  • Not having this stupid government run health care!

  • I agree that our government is full of incompetent fools or sell-outs, mainly in congress. I am a fan of the free market but our free market has been hijacked just like our government has. So we're basically screwed either way. We have a better chance at fixing government by having people pay more attention to who they vote in, finding viable candidates, holding them accountable, and creating some sort of public-private system of checks and balances to review the system. And no lobbyists!

  • LMAO, "the Canadians, I know because I actually have been to Canada many times, DO NOT want a US health care system", regardless of the accuracy or inaccuracy of that statement, it is simply laughable that, in a post were you rail on someone for blending facts and opinion, you use your personal experience alone as opinion. Tell me have you even stepped foot in every province, or gone to a hockey game?

  • corporations have free speech but not dear sweet dr Flowers!?

  • good protest, good message.

  • These 2 Doctors look so sweet and I hope and pray their message gets across. Bless them.

  • there is a public right of way by the street?

  • If passed, not only could the $1.5 TRILLION federal government takeover of healthcare be the last straw to bankrupt our country, but it would also:

*** Hand control of our healthcare industry to an unelected federal board who will take charge of deciding who gets medical care -- and who doesnt

  • Shallow...

... You do not even know the CBO on either bill.

But you stick to the meme, Polly.

    .

  • @maxx1000 Even Barney Frank knows this healthcare will not work It will end this country And put us in civil strife!

  • Stupid git,

PRIVATE CORPORATE INSURANCE is unelected, and THEY DECIDE/DENY CARE based on the profit margins, ALONE!

Your "DEATH PANELS" are the status quo.

    .

  • @maxx1000 Beaurocrats will not select my doctor nor plan Nor my monies pooled by govt' agencies and dispersed by those agencies Your nuts

  • Stupid Git,

CORPORATE INSURANCE is already chalk full of bureaucrats. Which, BTW, you're for.

    Your dichotomy is showing.

Look up the meaning of bureaucrat.

    .

  • John:

You realize that insurance companies decide who gets medical care and who doesn't EVERY DAY, don't you? And boy do they love denying people.

  • It is amazing that the people crafting healthcare reform legislation never even put single-payer or NHS systems on the table (didn't even let the CBO score them for fiscal impact). And we had senators threatening to filibuster even a buy-in system.

What possible harm is there in allowing people to pay into Medicare (at sustainable rates) to join the covered group, other than private insurers losing their victims? It's amazing how progressives are left voiceless by the media and government.

  • h4KK,

    Money speaks volumes.

CORPORATE INSURANCE can't make money off the healthy if the sick are covered by the Government. Because the healthy will see how, when sick, they'll get "DENIED" by a CORPORATE DEATH PANEL and be left to turn to the Government for aid.

And know that CORPORATE NEWS is bedfellows with other CORPORATE BOARD of Directors.

    .

  • I applaud these brave women! Elitists? You have your facts backwards! The elitists are those who feel that the lower income citizens, the people on whose backs this country iruns, are lazy and don't deserve to have health care. This is in fact the elitist lie!

  • PS

The United States is now paying more per capita for health care than anywhere in the WORLD.

  • Thank you - Doctors Flowers and Paris - for representing the people.

Thank you. You are on the east coast - you are in a much better place to make change - than me. I'm 3000 miles away.

    Thank you.

to the rest of you --- The US - is supposed to be a "leader" the US is number 37 -- among other industrialized capitalistic countries - when it comes to providing health care to its citizens.

  • @anablic The US is finnished 80 000 people leaving a day a drain on out educationed people and resources ^ free markets eradicated The implimentation of Czars such as homosexuals teaching our children and communists making our laws You bastards are close to civil war!

  • Civil War might be exactly what we need. The corporations with their money - and the ignorant with their raving rhetoric of hate ... have had their day. LOOK what a mess the two of them have made of this democracy !!!!

It is time for a civil war. Bring It !!

  • @anablic Starting with 30 million illegals then you liberals!

  • WOW Jim,

    I missed thi one...

    ... YOU'RE A HOMOPHOBE TO BOOT!

  • 37th that's such BS! BLAH BLAH BLAH you elitists are such fear mongers oh boy i better have the government control me that will be so much better for me.

  • Those are two angels right there. I'm right behind you all the way. We will get it.

  • Insurance companies only make the cost of heathcare more expensive. Everyone needs to face the FACTS on this issue:

    1) The government is a more efficient provider of healthcare, i.e. 3% overhead as opposed to 20-30%!!!!!!

    2) The market is NOT free the way it is now-----I never had any choice in my healthcare and workers seldom do!!!!! Besides, in most states, heathcare is a shared monoploy by a few giant insurance companies!!!!!!

    3) Law suits and premiums account for only 1% of costs!!!!

  • Typical elitist liberal you know it all end of debate lol.

Your a clueless jackass if you think government can do better wake up buddy medicare spends more then they bring in oh but i'm sure you will tell me i'm wrong and throw some garbage at me right you elitist?

  • Private property...move your ass...or face the man.

  • A study in how to be ineffectual.

  • @SilverRedIndigo, Right on!

  • they should have went to the sidewalk, which is owned by the government.

  • Was nothing leaned in the Massachusetts special election?

The majority of American's don't want a government run health care option i don't understand people like this we need to work on making health care better not worse by letting the govenment dictate to us.

Sorry i just don't get it and i think actions like this make things far worse.

  • Dear johnnorvaisas,

IF you are to be correct, then what you're saying is that the Mass election was about the People of Mass voicing about their Health Care system. Funny, no one asks that Q. of the voters.

But do not let pols and stats get in your way. Because we all know facts have a "Liberal" bias, NO? Fool, the People of Mass felt that the current debate on National H.C. doesn't go far ENOUGH!

Why don't Americans deserve affordable Health Care?

    .

  • We need better affordable healthcare i agree but the government won't be able to provide that the free market is the only way.

The government should work with insurance companies to make sure people with pre existing conditions can get healthcare at a fair price also we need portability and to get rid of junk law suits not a government run mandate.

    Common sense not more government!

  • johnnorvaisas,

I don't get you. You want less government yet propose MORE Government intrusion into the PRIVATE CORPORATE INSURANCE.

Another more = less supporter I guess.

When you say, "The government should work with insurance companies..." is that less Government involvement?

I'll take you seriously when you become more consistent with your G(no)P-bagger screed.

Y'all are against what would benefit you the most...

    ... Unless you're a greedy CORPORATE CEO.

    .

  • Well we know that a single payer system does not work if you want that move to Canada or the UK and wait in line ok bye bye!

  • We know because...

    ... Some pundit said so?

Dud, America is NOT #1 in Health Care in First World Nations. America is #37. And why is that? Because America refuses to go the step needed to ensure ALL Americans have affordable Health Care. So stop your B.S. right there. Even these "SOCIALIST" countries you rail against do Health Care better than the USA does, and they do it for less!

    .

  • @maxx1000 so move to the other countries we dont want nor need your communist socialism

  • Wait, I pay my taxes, you don't and you tell me to move somewhere else?

Who's gonna pay for your Medicare, your wars, your increasing debt?

    .

  • @maxx1000your liberalism has nothing to do with me you want it you pay for it

  • BeantownJim,

Let's start with a central understanding...

... Do ALL Americans deserve affordable health care?

    .

  • @maxx1000 you dont get it? you earn what you get no free ride

  • @BeantownJim,

Your "you get what you earn" premise rests on the idea that our current system is fair and reasonable - that's a very weak foundation for a philosophy. At present, wealthy Americans have access to a safety net better than any other in the world, while poverty gets passed down through generations which damns innocent children to a low quality of life they don't deserve.

Our system is severely rigged in favor of the wealthy.

I want to know, do you favor a steep inheritance tax?

  • @h4KK Weak foundation???? You get what you earn Not what some clown wants to hand me which i didnt deserve because he feels better by doing it! Your unethical thinking is your liberal theology!

  • BeantownJim,

    You never answered my question.

DO ALL Americans deserve affordable Health Care?

    .

  • @maxx1000 They deser5ve what they earned!

  • @BeantownJim,

If you want a true "you get what you earn" meritocracy, everyone must start off equally since our nation is based on the idea that all men are created equal. Without this first, critical step; some men begin life with more assets than they'll ever earn, while some labor in debt most of their lives, and others are imprisoned for crimes of desperation.

The quickest and simplest path to equality from birth is liquidation and redistribution of everyone's assets after death, forever.

  • @h4KK Sorry kid Thats communism A redistribution of wealth? Whom is to tell me i can't keep what iv'e earned? You? Over my dead body!

  • @BeantownJim,

Your response is exactly my problem with libertarians and republicans and internet "fiscal conservatives" in general. You're happy to talk the talk about America being a meritocracy, but when it comes time even just to discuss hypothetically walking the walk, you balk at the ideas which could truly make it so.

Yes, a redistribution of wealth after death, EXACTLY over your dead body: dead people can't use wealth, and you won't miss it after you've passed away, I guarantee it.

  • @h4KK But my family will use it when im gone!

  • @BeantownJim,

That's exactly my point (I don't know or care how wealthy you are).

    The way things are now:

= If you're richer than average, your family will have an unearned economic advantage after your death (big inheritance)

= If you're poorer than average, your family will have an unearned economic disadvantage after your death (loss of a contributor)

I'm just saying that for a system where everyone earns what they get, kids need to have equal opportunity from the get-go.

  • @h4KK None of anyones buisness if im rich or poor especially the govt's
