I read the book as I was going through my own philosophical awakening. It is a beautiful novel and film with a great message. However, it remains a fictional transcendental metaphysics intended to emotionally grab its audience and has no scientific nor historical evidence or rational argument to reasonably back up its claims. Do not get your hopes up for any special mutant superpowers coming to you anytime soon without the aid of science, engineering and technology.
It made me really happy to watch this. When I was 16 my friends and I came upon this book and in our naivety we thought it was a true story. Because of that it made an even bigger impact. We stole many copies of the book and gave them all away to propagate that insights :) It was all a coincidence. It really made a difference in who I am today.

I don't think anything happens by coincidence, everything happens for a reason. When seemingly random events are connected it's synchronicity, and that's what you experienced. James Redfield don't even mention bibliography in his books. He writes a story and then people believe it is a prophecy. Be careful. He's talking about manipulation, but what is to make you believe that old concepts known before him, synchronicity (Yung), conditional patterns by the family (Freud), the power of intuition, is a prophecy... he just created an order, he's just faking a complex world. Open yourself to other guides, before to think you found the truth.
This perception is called the 4th vibratory complex or 4th dimension. Many few have this now (ala psychics)and mankind will soon develop this ability after 2012 after the pole shift. We will have the abilities as the ancient lemurians and atlanteans possessed!
