The reason why they lost because when you lost a player in defence they still attack like nobody cares and you do notice that Manchester city has a way better attack force so with 1 man down you and you still attack like nobody cares that's what you get. Given is awful - excellent shot stopper and nothing more. His aerial ability is nothing short of atrocious at this level, hence why he has never made it at the top level. Hart is acrobatic, good in the air and has lightning reflexes, what's not to like? Vorm is very average. He's made some good saves, but some of the goals he's conceeded are poor.

Among the best are Neuer, Hart, Akinfeev, Buffon, Freidel... but really, the current generation of keepers is utter rubbish. You think Akinfeev and Hart are among the best? Akinfeev is over-rated beyond belief, and I can't understand what everyone sees in Hart. Friedel is one of the most under-rated in the world as is Shay Given. I'll give you two keepers who are going to be among the best, Michel Vorm & Thibault Courtois.

@TheSpiritOf68 Chilavert was great, just because he never made it in Europe doesn't mean he was bad. Canizares is better than anything Spain have now. Given is awful - excellent shot stopper and nothing more. His aerial ability is nothing short of atrocious at this level, hence why he has never made it at the top level. Hart is acrobatic, good in the air and has lightning reflexes, what's not to like? Vorm is very average. He's made some good saves, but some of the goals he's conceeded are poor.

How can he be awful, but an excellent shot stopper? That doesn't make sense to me. The only goal Vorm conceded that was poor was against Arsenal. I don't know what he was doing there. Another goalkeeper who is going to be top class, Asmir Begovic. He needs to get a chance at the top level.
