  • AlGériAn RocK on facebook

  • When I found sources that this song peaked at #49 in Germany via my wikipedia work on Slade, I was more sure than ever that this song would have been a big hit elsewhere if given the chance. I wonder if the UK would have taken to the song? Probably so. Slade at their loudest, most fun, with a great riff and some great vocal that promotes audience participation.

  • somzeira

  • Guys, where I can find how to play this song on guitar? I'm looking for tab for about one year, and still nothing. My e-mail is diedielois@yahoo.com

  • Eine verdammt große Band war das.

Dieses Lied vielleicht nicht-aber fast alles sonst.

  • @CheetingBlues Did you know that when the first singer (Bon Scott) died, they asked noddy to be the lead singer. (he refused because he was in slade)

  • Where's the new noddy holder stand up please!!!!

  • Looks like Dave's wearing snake-skin trousers: awesome

  • Whitesnake stole the riff for Sweet Talker!!!

  • Такие музыканты заслуживают на золотой памятник при жизни , или после смерти!!!!

  • I remember Slade opening their set with this at Castle Donnington in front of 70,000 heavy metal heads and they were absolutely amazing. It was raining but they tore the place apart. B lue oyster cult who followed died a death. I have always loved heavy metal such as manowar, accept, but even Lemmy used to claim the only band louder was slade. Bless em.

  • @TheShotgunslade I was there Shotgun and yes it was a great and glorious day. They showed Reading wasn't a fluke, which all true fans knew ofcourse, and that they are and always will be the absolute guvnors.

Long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • Anybody need more proof that Noddy was the greatest rock vocalist ever?

Nod, call Jim, then both of you call Dave and Don and say, "Ok guys it's been long enough, time to rock one more time!"

  • Holy shit- Noddy is dressed as a vicar!

  • Anyone notice how Slade and Fastway lead singers sound a bit alike?

  • @klegster now that you mention yeah they are very similar

  • Evangelization,master-class from Slade...:-]

  • They were miles ahead inspiring all '80s glam metal bands. I think Vince Nail's Voice (motley crue) is really close....

  • Jo , das waren Zeiten !!!Good handmade Music !!!!!

  • Very Good...*****

  • AWESOME..!!! ^_^

  • This is cool enough to wake up deads

  • saw them in 82,fuckin amazin. One of the best bands, shows Ive ever seen.

  • fantastic song....i love this fucking great band

  • They didn't crack the US themselves but influenced loads of US bands Kiss said they modeled themselves on a US version of Slade. Nirvans said they were an influence and Michael Stipe has said that they are the band that he would most like to see reform

  • Want to hear the worst song ever recorded come to my page

  • Foorfan > I'm 17. And I'm French, and I say : It's Great too :)

  • saw this tour at sheffield lycium in 1981 with a bird next day she packed me in the next time i saw them i took a bird and now shes me wife of 24 years funny women

  • Video is from 1981!

I was 18 years of age at that time.

and a big Slade fan now i'm 46 and still a big fan!

  • Like many glam rock bands of the 70's, Slade were excellent musicians, & this track proves it ! I wish a band would come along now, & be as much as fun as these boys....

  • @cbyam1300 Most Americans don't even know who Slade is. They were banned in the U.S. I was in the music industry in the 70's and knew who they were. I worked with the Godz and did lights and sound for Kiss. Every time Quiet Riot would put out a hit I recognized it as a remake of a Slade song. I had a copy of the Sladiest Slade alblum. Loved them the very first time I heard them.

  • @bmw120556 Thanks for your reply.....I am interested in why Slade were banned in the US..... were any other bands of this time banned too, such as The Sex Pistols, The Damned or The Clash ?

  • @bmw120556 what did you do with the Godz? and when if I may ask ?

  • Reminds me of Spinal Tap Stonehenge

  • Just one word : MAGIC!!! (HALLELUJA!)

  • n'importe quoi. vas faire réviser t'es oreilles. t'y connais vraiment rien!

  • It was 1982

  • good work!!

  • merveilleux slades lors du concert à Limbourg !!

  • amazing

  • Praise the Lord for Noddy and his disciples. Slade gave a new face to otherwise boring Glam Rock

  • haha, thats in a german tv show for older people.... those ones know slade as old cool rockband... but that song the grandpas and grandmas in that show didnt really expect.

they look a bit shoked after the song :D

  • I am 50. And I say: Its great!!

  • the best opening to a gig ever i think so coz ive seen the light

  • SLADE forever

  • from the way it looks, shows back then were lame as far as the crowd goes. no movement.they just SIT there like fukking zombies. Get up & move your ass. especially the ladies ;)

  • Halleluia! Let there be ROCK!!!!

I wonder if this inspired AC/DC?

  • T'as eu raison de voter pour slade, par contre c'était pas en 1974

  • I'll betcha this sparked a few arguments with the pissed off priests and ministers blaming rock n roll for everything that went wrong in everyone's life back then?

    Goooooooooooooooood song

  • Slade were a brilliant act live. I wish I had the money to get the original line up back together for a tour. Boy would that sell out qucikly

  • I think you'd need more than money - Jim and Nod just don't want to come out to play anymore :-(

  • amazin slade

  • slade rules

  • A good contrast to having to go to church every Sunday as a kid! All cylinders firing on this one.

  • I have seen slade over 20 times they were great

  • only saw the 6 time but best group live ever and i seen metallica us queen police jam boomtown rats ian dury mud wet wet wet lol

  • I remember Slade opening their gig in the Oxford Apollo in about 1982 with this number. Still is the BEST GIG ever!!!! Then I bought ALL of their albums.

  • Canny beat a bit o' Slade

  • trop bien c groupe

  • This is a really cool song by SLADE - been a fan for years, this song has been ripped off by AC/DC the guitar riffs in the song "Fire your Guns" off the Razors Edge Album sound nearly the same !!!

    Scott

  • Strange init... some bands from Britain were HUGE in America, some just couldn't make it. Cream - huge. Beatles - Huge. Stones - Huge. Slade, SAHB, Family just didn't make it. I can't see any patterm to it...

  • I think when Slade was happening, in America the glam rock scene started to happend and people like David Bowie were the people to follow because of the glam look.

  • Budgie is another good example. Check them out.

  • This was taken from The Album "Till Deaf Do Us Part" 1982, not 1974! Long Live Rock'n'Roll

  • @Demohil It's from 1981 guys i have the cd no doubt.

  • Ils sont génial et on en refait plus des cracs comme eux

  • Hallelujah - I'm on fire!!

  • kijk broekies dit is pas muziek

niet die herry die ze vandaag de dag maken ze mogen nog niet ruiken aan de plek waar dezen hebben ge.......

  • Class!

  • i love to listen to this song loudly , very loudly at about 9 in the morning , when im still in bed :DDD

  • very sharp hard voice, great set of lungs

  • How come I missed this one at the time? Brill. Don't think the yaks really got "Glam rock". they were still doing the Eagles, Beach Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd et al. All fine bands, just not with the raucous rough edge of Slade or with glam. Hell it was good time.

  • Hellfire been at the front row many a time my ears are still ringing.Keep on rockin!.

  • this is a great song and a great clip, but there is another clip of slade doing this song in germany, it

looks live (but it isn't), there's a guy in the crowd

holding the "till deaf" album, if anybody has it could they please post it...cheers.

  • Brilliant, watch Jimmy rock !

  • the reason could be :

-not enough sissy styled for glam rock

    -the 1977 punk rock explosion

-the oedipian relationship between United States and

    "mother england"

-their producer was the wrong man in the right place

-or simply a lack of luck!

  • None of the above, it was simply down the the yanks having no idea of great music "Slade simply legends"

  • You're both absolutly wrong, especially that sissy glam rock comment.

  • WTF do you know?

It's only a sissy who can't handle listening to anything he doesn't consider 'masculine enough'. Slade ROCKED. If you're upset because they give you a hard-on, complain to someone else or don't watch.

  • btw, that was intended toward 'darkshadyfigure. thanks.

  • HAHAHHAHA are you a fucking imbecile? He said "one of the reasons they couldn't have gotten popular was that they weren't sissy enough for glam rock"

And then look at my comment. I live for 80s rock and roll and slade/bowie/new york dolls/the sweet. So before you go insulting me, or my musical tastes which you know so much about, fucking learn the english language

  • How come this band never made it big in the US?

  • noddy makes it look easy what a voice

  • amen brother...till deaf do us part.
