The easiest way to go manual would be to get a engine+trans+all electronics from a 540i, Or m5 if you want more power. 97-98 540 would be the most reliable becuase no vanos and makes its peak hp at a higher rpm. You might run into problems with your vanos so just ripping everything out might make sense, and will be a hell of allot easier than coding a manual trans. Ive decided I'm keeping my m73 automatic.

No, I am afraid, I have to contradict. The 7 series BMW is all about class, elegance, sportiness. This E38 7er is the most beautiful 7 series ever. The tuning of the headlights destroys the appearance of it.

The E38 is probably the best 7-series BMW ever made. The successor to the E38, the E6* line, doesn't look bad but, IMO, took a step back from the kind of look the E38 achieved.
The current line of the 7-series is rather bulbous looking, replacing the well-executed look of the E38 with its streamlined and sleek lines. It struck me as more like a Mercedes and less like a BMW.
@Watcher3223 in complete agreement. BMW sales always contacts me giving me deals on the newer ones and i have the same response...i love my E38...end of story.
The E38 doesnt demand attention...its presence is automatically felt. Very subtle and simple design...yet the ride and technology is at par with todays standards. Sophistication and pleasure blended with a rich blend of enthusiasm :)

hey guys...could someone tell me about how much liter of fuel does a 4 litered engine consume? all the bushings in the front end are made of polyurethene instead of the stock rubber,they are a little harder in composition but they wont wearout from age and they give the body much less body roll,makes it handle much better,my tires on the rear are 295-30 so that also helps my problem but i sure like the stance.Thanks for the comments

I just about have mine finished and i did the h&rs with a set of polyurethene bushings with 20's.2 inch drop in the front and.75 rear.I now have a staggered fit-10"s and 8.5s and the rears rub.Had to roll the insides of the rears and it almost fixed it.Only rubs when in a hard corner now.I will put details and a better video later but for now go to Bobby"s bmw and check it out.
@v8bikes your rubbing with 10 inch wheels? Is it because of the .75 drop? Because mine is stock but i have 11.5 inch width wheels with twenties running 285/35 at the rear and i dont rub.. Quick question friend what are polyurethene bushings?
@v8bikes that is exactly my plan. the fenderwall clearance is too high. I just want to lower the front down. That is the plan this summer. Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. 2-3 inch drop only front. Complete the staggered setup.

@alizdafamily Thanks, I work @ small car dealership and was able 2 pick it up after someone traded it n for 1200 bucks, then bought the wheels brand new 4 1000 with tires. Also got a bunch of suspension parts to put on (control arms, struts, tie rods). I have been looking for a used sts rear mounted turbo setup to make her scream a lot louder!

hey guys...could someone tell me about how much liter of fuel does a 4 litered engine consume? I would like to buy a 740il but I newer had a bimmer before..so I'm kinda scared of costs...would appreciate if someone of you guys could tell me a few things like: what are the most common deffects of a 740 bmw? what to look for when buying a used one? all the bushings in the front end are made of polyurethene instead of the stock rubber,they are a little harder in composition but they wont wearout from age and they give the body much less body roll,makes it handle much better,my tires on the rear are 295-30 so that also helps my problem but i sure like the stance.Thanks for the comments

@v8bikes nice!! I think the next time i do my bushings i will go with that because 20s put a lot of stress on them. Would it be possible for you to tell me where you got the polyurethene parts from? If it is online can you send me a link. I would really appreciate it. :) Your 7 looks nice and clean as well.

I just about have mine finished and i did the h&rs with a set of polyurethene bushings with 20's.2 inch drop in the front and.75 rear.I now have a staggered fit-10"s and 8.5s and the rears rub.Had to roll the insides of the rears and it almost fixed it.Only rubs when in a hard corner now.I will put details and a better video later but for now go to Bobby"s bmw and check it out.

@v8bikes your rubbing with 10 inch wheels? Is it because of the .75 drop? Because mine is stock but i have 11.5 inch width wheels with twenties running 285/35 at the rear and i dont rub.. Quick question friend what are polyurethene bushings?

@v8bikes that is exactly my plan. the fenderwall clearance is too high. I just want to lower the front down. That is the plan this summer. Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. 2-3 inch drop only front. Complete the staggered setup.

Nice ride man! Those wheels are killer! Mines a 94 with a lot of miles, but I absolutely LOVE it! Turns every bodies head. I know the song is dumb as hell but watch my video and tell me what u think.

@TheJoshuahouck damnnnn I always wanted the older 740...most aggressive looking bimmer!! Its almost impossible to find one kept like yours these days. Id still say some OEM rims would look better. Something like m5 wheels the 5 spoke :) other wise very clean...awesome!!

@alizdafamily Thanks, I work @ small car dealership and was able 2 pick it up after someone traded it n for 1200 bucks, then bought the wheels brand new 4 1000 with tires. Also got a bunch of suspension parts to put on (control arms, struts, tie rods). I have been looking for a used sts rear mounted turbo setup to make her scream a lot louder!

Cool Ride, I have a 98' e38 and personally I like the e38 more than the models between 2002 - 2008, let me know if you ever got the front lip.

@pelepihuamo hey man howz it goin? I like the 98 model more than the facelift. It looks better in my opinion specially the head lights. But its hard to find one in good shape where im from. I kant stand the new 7 serie. Feels like im stiing on a hippo :S. I have installed the alpina lip kit. My stupid camera broke. Will post vids soon :)

Glad you know what pimped out mean lol.. I like the 7 series but, the next model up the 745i. That car always turns heads but its a real pain in the ass to repair i hear due to all the tightly placed mechanical components under the hood

Nice pimpled out version but, you aint getting any respect at high profile establishment with a vallet unless its sometype of music studio party. Not a fan of the 740's they look to boxy. My 5 series looks so much better with the shorter trunk and more rounded nature
