  • Oustanding footage, per se. Pity though about the rausous music.

  • I wonder if the pilots in WWII had to get permission to shoot first

  • That's how grampa did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty good so far!

  • The music is wrong. Leo Fender didn't invent the Broadcaster (Telecaster) until 1948.

  • me likey %}

  • Bunch of p47 guncams, maybe some p40's - but anything turning with a Japanese plane has got to be a F6F or F4U - p40 pilots were told never to turn, hit and run only. Most of the attack runs were probably p47's and most of the FW190's getting shot were p47's. Some of the 109's may have been Hurricanes.

My favorite was the guncame at distance 30 yards, the A6M zero - I'm thinking probably F6F there.

  • @junglejang0 I agree! You can almost make a somewhat educated guess of what the film was coming from by the quality of the film if it was color or lack of thereof. My grandfather p-47 then p-51 pilot (Pacific) 01/45 through VJ day said that MacArthur was envious of the beautiful footage the shot by the navy in the Marianas Turkey Shoot and had the USAAC switch from B/W to the cutting edge (for it's time) Kodachrome.

  • EAT LEAD SLANT

  • The train strike at 3:13 is amazing and terrible and awe inspiring.

  • @Roan0388 Sorry, make that the one immediately afterwords.

  • very nice

  • This is why the Germans, when asked said the plane they hated the most was the Jug. Pilots said they did not fear the Mustang 1v1, but they Jug gave them a lot of trouble. Thank you Mr. Seversky for sticking with your idea and giving us an awesome airplane to look back on!!!

  • The baddest ass endeavor, activity, sport whatever you want to call it in the history of mankind PERIOD! ! !

  • Стервятники. Гореть им в аду!

  • puttin' on the hits....

    badda-bing....badda-BOOM!

    sit down.....!

    good job sir...

  • Those guy on the beach at 4:01 were all like " Shit, shit, shit, shit...!"

  • @molanlabexm15 Classic comment! I'm laughing my ass off...!

  • @moto1p1 I'm glad you enjoyed that comment man. I mean wouldn't you be doing the same thing if a Corsair was screaming some bad news down on your head? That would freaking suck!

  • While it mostly looks like the silhuette is consistent with a P-40 (like the looks like "landing gear" blisters), there is something maybe not quite right? Most troublesome, is the dihedral. It's too flat for a P-40. There is however, afaik, nothing else that fits without objections. Also, since there is not much japanese gun camera, 'P-40' has to be Mediterranean, not Pacific.

  • @Vermiliontea I agree. The video creator says it is the Pacific, but the TV station in the corner, LUCA, may be a giveaway - could be Italian or Maltese TV. For my money, it is an unfamiliar Italian aircraft. What would seem to be the pilot inexperience (unless he's gravely wounded) and the wide expanse of ocean lend some credence to that. Thoughts?

  • @cnimitz I don't think it's possble to draw conclusions from LUCA. Reggiane 2000, Reggiane 2002 or P-40. I can see why people think it's a P-40. My only serious objection is the dihedral. Otoh, tailplane maybe seems a tad high for a Reggiane. So I dunno.

  • @Vermiliontea You know what this could be...a British Kittyhawk (modified P-40). Do you know if the British made any mods that could account for the differences? As a serious student of the Pacific War, I just have a hard time believing that there is Japanese gun camera footage of a P-40 going down

  • @Vermiliontea ...it could only have happened over China or the Phillipines and the IJN was notorious for not allowing cameras to 'weigh them down'. It's gotta be the Med somewhere. If you don't think it's Italian, what about a Kittyhawk?

  • I dont get tired of watching this shit

  • Dont Knock AC/DC

  • whats that bi plane at 3:31?

  • @Javexer

    yeah, they're probably trainers

  • p51 best plane of world war 2

  • 1:54- a Betty getting owned, but thats not a surprise...

  • BULLSHIT!

  • sorry,BULLSHIT madmax!

  • @Madmax22392 Their were assholes on both sides who took part in that. However towards the end of the war when some German pilots were intentionally ramming their planes into our bombers then bailing out...those cocksuckers deserved to be shot under their chute...!

  • great

  • I cant even imagine the helpless feeling one whould have being on the recieving end of a straffing run, especially on a ship where you cant run and just have to take it. Artillery is worse but I suppose you cant sorta dig in some what. Either way both suck :)

  • As bad as that reality was, imagine being shot up in the plane with nowhere to go for help. At least on the ground there's a chance someone will help when you yell "Medic"

  • 1:56 to 2:03 is a P40. Did the Americans score an own goal?

  • Mars, this is very probably an error on the side of the maker of this video

  • Man, war sucks, i dont see how people can post things like this, LMAO, no totally kidding this vid ROCKS. I love it. And sweet song alost, yes the music was great too. WIsh there would have been more battleship to battlleship footage, but either way, the whole thing just rocked.

  • Dude.. this is AC/DC.. They were still juice waiting in their daddy's crotch back in 40-45

  • ok. straight fucking up -- tough video. fucking killer tune, (whatever, ac/dc still kills, deny it...) AWESOME compilation. seriously, give me a reason NOT to agree......

  • 1:23 is that a drop tank getting hit?

  • I think so.

  • @agentolshki yes it was a drop tank geting hit

  • see those two pricks running across the beach at 4:03 dodging bullets

  • the greatest generation......bad asses

  • In case you haven't noticed, the current generation is kicking some serious ass in the soon- to-be-a-parking-lot middle east.

  • this fucking intert is SOMETHING jeassuss i got this for my waines and they never get on it yehayeyeyeyeyeyhahahahaha

  • Yes, some Japanese aircraft, such as the infamous A6M Zero, didn't have self sealing fuel tanks. A couple of rounds hit the fuel tank and that plane is a fire ball!

  • Hey at 2:00, that's a P40 getting shot up over the Western Desert by an ME109!

  • Die you little German sausage knocker

  • Thats horribly innacurate.

  • WRONG. The USAAF was killing the Luftwaffe they had barely anything left by winter 1944 cause they where being cut to bits by the USAAF. Germany could not keep up with our industry production they where kaput.

  • US Army Air Corps, Air Force wasn't born yet. And it wasn't just the Americans, it was all Allied aircraft that punched the LW in the nose. But yes, we out produced them and the Germans were quickly running out of supplies to even keep their planes air borne.

  • America has one mighty air-force, so has the British but the Japanese one were a shambles.

  • Japanese had as many good pilots as the USAAF at the start of the war.

But because of different policies between the 2 air forces, by the end of the war, the Japanese had virtually none of the good pilots as at the start.

Japanese's policy at that time was for veteran pilots to keep fighting while for the American, veteran pilots were sent back to train recruit pilots.

America kept pumping out good pilots while Japan kept losing its precious veterans over casualties.

    Japanese = American in skill

  • They couldn't train new pilots as fast as we could kill 'em. That was their problem. On a whole, American pilots were much better; just look at the kill ratios.

  • Yes I'm a American

  • it is 'an American' you donkey!

  • The music goes so well with this video, this is one of my favorite videos on youtube.

man I wish I could have been a pilot during WWII...Long live good ol' Strafing and Dogfighting!

  • No need to thank us ....

  • songs total wank

  • What with this crappy hard rock music.?

  • wow. just wow.

    This song and video rock

  • Great video! Song fits it to a T!

  • incredible footage.

  • P40, possibly Hurricane is at 1:57s

  • it does look like it but that clip is from the pacific so most likely a p40 if it is allied aircraft but i'm pretty sure its not.....where else are there allied planes being shot at..like what times?

  • some parts are from german guncams

  • @troutair it is a P-40, definitely.

Did you see the LUCE logo on the top right screen? That was the logo of fascist italian television...propaganda program, I'm not sure.

  • Except for the mystery at 1:57 it's all axis aircrafts being shot up, from what I can see.

I definitely agree that 1:57 is mostly consistent with a P-40.

It might be a P-40, and it may also be over the mediterranean, not pacific. Some documentary has mistakenly edited in german gun camera?

  • These arent all American. They are a mixture of all sorts.

One near the start is a P40 being shot down by 20mm cannon (!)

  • talk about dangerous..

  • That house at :53 exploded pretty spectacularly for a civilian structure, must've been hiding something...?

  • lol that shit was blown the fuck up dude

  • whats the name of the song

  • For Those About to Rock - AC/DC

  • i seen this same video atleast 5 other times with different name and music, lame

  • nice to see allied forces handing axis powers a handfull of kick ass.p-47 was a hell of a plane.

  • Hell yeah it was the P-47 kicked ass. I LOVE the P-51 Mustang as well so don't get me wrong but it seems to get all the press. The rugged ol' Thunderbolt deserves it's dues to you know.

  • would be sweet to see the p-47 and a-10 flying together, both rugged gun packed kick yer ass kinda planes.yeah-the p-51 was nice.

  • Yeah the problem is and this is really sad but shortly after WWII they had pretty much all if not all of the P-47's scrapped. What that fuck was the USAAF thinking?

  • Look at about 4:00 As they light up the beach. You can see two people running like hell off to the right. Bullets are just missing them and hitting the water.

Great Gun Cam Footage! Thanks for sharing.

  • IS there a guncam movie without music on the background. Don't get me wrong but I prefer to hear the roar of the engine, the machine guns firing , the explosions.

  • world war 2 guncams don't record sound

  • if they did it would be all engine drone ....not the good kind

  • knights of the air

  • 1:19 like the way he knocks off the spare fuel tank im assuming

  • Great footage!

  • En contrare, I think the music goes quite well, it's ahrdcore, and that's what it was.

  • or *hardcore ;)

  • That was some explosion in the beginning , damn

  • This amazing footage, however the music does not go with the period. But the footage is amazing anyway. AC/DC is best left for head bangers and punks. Why not put on something like "escape" or something more for the period.

  • you're right. Give the guy kudos for trying but young guys like the action but don't get the historical connection with the music and history

  • You are free to upload your stuff with whatever music you like.

No point in arguing about taste.

  • why the hell couldnt i be a ww2 pilot???

  • No idiots allowed, sorry

  • why does wanting to be a ww2 pilot make me an idiot?

  • Idiot will not understand. War isn't romantic places, there people die.

  • your an idiot i wish i was one to

  • Bauk, youve proven to be the biggest idiot commenting this page yet. Whether flying airplanes, or flying your desktop on youtube.

You sir, are a piece of shit.

  • first, vid is great compilation of WW2 history documentation. Fascinating courage of all participants in that war, and, of course, as seen on guncam view, great skill of yenkee pilots. That was probably last war in which humankind have had to get closer to each other to beat other one. Great 0:26, 1:38 and 2:18 it was probably no more than 20 meters range...that will happen never more in conflicts...that's why those documents are so worthy. And music...great! :)

  • US Army Pilots like to shoot the NonArmed-Fisherman

  • Thats because they had radios you fucking idiot!

  • Ok,Ok.I alter.

US Army Pilots like to shoot the 'unarmed'.

About that time,US Navy aviators Lynched did the such action.

  • Wow, do a bit more research on your homelands history during WWII. Those "fishing boats" were fair game for the reason ccandb mentioned. Oh, btw, it was total war so in reality all is fair game. How about what the imperial army of Japan did too the people of China, Korea, S.E. Asia and P.O.W.'s? Words like rape, slavery, torture, starvation, experimentation & execution come to mind. It's your country, know it's history. I lived in Japan for a year. Different place & attitude than 60+ years ago.

  • if the fishing boats where taking food back to the mainland to feed armermant workers..so be it, better to starve them as the Japs did with the people on the phillipines, or the gGermans did to the Dutch, on 550 calories a day as opposed to the 1000 the people in Auschwitz where receiving, and if not for operation Manna in the last few weeks before the war ended thousands more would have sucumbed

  • OK.I'll answer you.

with ignoring which carry the subject by 'impossible to physical-certify'.

'Ogre'Curtis Emerson LeMay Planned the civiltargetbombing-Operation by much the same reason.

...But the such quibble is a 'Target of despise' in Japan.

In Japan , 'The civilian is the civilian. The soldier is the soldier'.

  • yeh im sure ''In Japan , 'The civilian is the civilian. The soldier is the soldier'''

then whats with the killing of innocent civilians in asian countries by u japs?

  • what the hell your soldiers doing in india in kashmir with the indian civillians, they are not the humans ? watch your words always.

  • PostScript:

If your reply is commonsense of war...At least , commonsense of 2nd-worldwar,

While 1939 to 1945 , Fishries of Europe(Ex:North-Sea) must be dyed by the blood of fishermen of UnitedKindm and Germany.

    Became so?

  • becoz germans rnt as dodgy like japs

  • for it looks like in the 2:00 there is a p-47 under attack,

    but the video es awesome.

  • Great job on the vid, have yet to see that many air-to-air kills in one vid I think.

    bennyhill:

at what point do you see "friendly fire" in the vid?

  • ok got it, just watch the vid to the end! lol

  • Dumb question: Name of the tune?

  • Good music, but I came here to find videos like that with the sound (if any).

  • Either not all that footage is from US aircraft or there's some more of your friendly fire going on.

  • WOW! undoubtedly the BEST footage I've ever seen.

  • Yeah, when I think about World War Two, I think about AC/DC.

  • It is not gun camera but guncam ;).

  • great video

  • lose the tune mate....death is happening, we don't need a beat to tell us it

  • no, but thats not the point, the song helps show its a tribute to those who flew...and for those who died........death is war and war is hell......if i left the music out you would think i was some weird person who liked watching planes getting shot down.....

  • o yeah and i suggest watching this other video i posted....for the same reason....as a tribute, but you might like the soundtrack better

World War II American Navy Pacific Camera Shots

  • that was MOST excellent! Good tune, clear video...P-47 Thunderbolt pwns

  • Great video with great music. Grat;)
