  • THIS IS SO COOL!!!!!! I MISS THIS ERA!!! STILL ALL THAT!!!!

  • Just love this song, watched your shared video many times here, thanks for sharing! I saw Shooting Star about 20 years ago at Memorial Hall in Kansas City KS Christmas season concert, they rocked us and I had a great time. They even did a couple of Christmas songs that night.

  • what is OAR?? Id Love to hehp

  • @TheScorps3 Tis album oriented rock. It was another word for progressive rock and dominated FM radio in the midwest of America in the seventies and eighties.

  • Can anyone else some other good AOR bands to me. I know that the midwest produced many great AOR bands in the seventies and eighties but I need more AOR in my musical diet. Please recommend whatever songs you all can to me please. Thanks.

  • @ufofan1980 idk bout midwest or aor but check out some tesla they will rock ur world and kenny wayne sheppard band and stevie ray dang u wont be hungry no more hahahaaaa Happy New Year ! Im a ufofan 2 hahaha LOVE peace n music

  • INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL INTRO, THEN IT ROCKS YOUR SOCKS OFF, JUST AN AWESOME TUNE, I LOVE IT! ;o)

  • Shooting star rocks they used to play in cincinnati oh a lot back in late 70s and early 80s one of my favorites lots of energy.

  • Fuck, what a surprise. I saw them in San Juan, PR back in my days of college, 79-83. I forgot about them. They were fantastic, just damn good.

  • there are simalarity's between kansas and shooting star kansas are from st joe,mo and topeka, ks/ and the guy's from shooting star are from kansas city, gary west's son wesley west went to my high school and was a year behind myself, i grew up hearing shooting star and they are an awsome band.

  • awesome song and the music video suits it perfectly

  • hope I don't get killed, but the obvious similarity to KANSAS is inevitable.

  • @jpirard

The only notable similarity to Kansas is that both bands had a violinist. Structurally, their music is very different. And lyrically, there aren't many similarities at all.

SS never agreed with the Kansas comparisons either. I know it bugged them because they said so (tactfully) on Rockline back in the day.

Personally, I like both bands equally. Apples & oranges.

(Note that my comments refer to the Gary West years of Shooting Start [the first 5 albums]). After that, I dunno.

  • 2 people cannot feel the pulling of the moon

  • this brings back so many good memories tonite bright stars seem low tonite awsome

  • I swear it brings back so many good memories icould just cry!

  • THE most underated band of all-time. Excellent studio/albums and just killer live! I saw them for the first time at K-SHE/KWK Superjam at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. They were the opening act. And, after being followed by Judas Priest, April Wine, Sammy Hagar, and Journey, --- Shooting Star was ALL I could talk about.

  • when I saw the pajammas (live) I was like..' How can ya NOT love these guys'..??

    AWESOME unknown Band !

  • Great rock song ...it's a shame they didn't get more...spent many summers w/Shooting Star while growing up in Kansas...

  • This was a local favorite in Cincinnati back in the day. PLAY LOUD!

  • Jammed on this album endlessly in my '72 cougar in '80

  • Very underrated band.

  • tremendous!

  • saw this band at the rainbow theatre in denver colorado, 81 or 82 I think, great music

  • wow i been looking for this song for many moons!

  • My ex-brother-in-law is a piece of crap, but he turned me on to Shooting Star back in the 80's. I guess he's not all bad.

  • No one makes great rock songs like this anymore. These guys were underrated by the mainstream. God, I HATE the mainstream.

    Thanks for the upload boilerbop.

  • got to love my hometown band best time i saw them was at starlight 1985

  • Only saw them from this video when our area was first getting cable in 1979-80. My brother and I would stay up till 11:30 to see this half-hour show called "video jukebox." Killer tune! Went out and got the album. Just proves you can add strings and still rock.

  • omg! blast from the past! love it!

  • Great Song from a Great Band, this Album

    is EXCELLENT (late 1979-early 1980)

  • good song..great band

  • killer band killer tune .

  • I saw these guys in the 80s at the Indiana State Fair with Utopia Todd Rundgren. I heard that all their equipment was stolen after the show. Hope it wasnt true. I have always loved Shooting Star. The album cover from Haang on for tour life was great. Still have it.

  • cool music i don't knew

  • man at 134 West makes it look kool 2 be behind a baby grand ,he just makes a piano look like it belongs in rock n roll,

reminds me of a friend here in cincy ,Tom Lukie, dudes got a baby grand in his livinroom,he looks just as kool on it too, dont know why ,guess pianos are kool after all !!

  • Remember seeing this video for the first time on the USA Network's Video Concert Hall....months before MTV existed. Nothing like kicking back with a few cold ones in a buddies basement watching this video.

  • Shit.... You crazy bastard.....

  • This song is sooo awesome. I almost forgot about it but was looking through their discography and saw it, and had to check youtube. Yes I am a huge fan, and this IS one of my favorites. Thanks for posting it!

  • These guys should have been WAY bigger than they were. Their 1st album was classic.

  • Steve Thomas (original shooting star drummer) is my drum teacher!!!!!!!!!!

  • Get the hell outta here!!! The dude who did the most amazing drum roll on 'Last Chance'?!!!!

  • "just friends".

  • Only the best song ever!!!!

  • Very underrated band. Excellent sound!

  • Awsome song awsome tight band, where are the musicians today?...and I'm turning 40.

  • Saw them in the 1980's Westport Plaza with a rotating stage. An awsome concert that will never be forgotten

  • I was at that show...last tour with the original lead singer as I recall.

  • God, this song reminds me of "parking" with those cute little high school boys, back in the day...

  • they were underrated!

  • Saw them in 78 or 79...Great nite..watching West jump around in his PJ'! I thought ~I~ drank too much~~ ?? !~!!!!

Great stuff--> All around ! CLASSIC

  • One of THE very BEST early 80's straight Rock & Roll bands. I am still kicking myself over 20 years later for not going to see them in K.C. with my cousin when I had the chance. I wore out the vinyl and cassette I had though... THANK YOU FOR POSTING! ! !

  • my first concert ever, will never forget how great it was

  • Saw them around 75 at a old bowling skating rink in kck. Solid stuff even then.

  • Ok thinking about it probably 79 saw a lot of bands back then.

  • OK, it sounds biased as I am from Kansas City, but as a fan of FM Radio in the late 70's, I thought these guys were as good as their AOR competition and certainly were a solid live band. I like a lot of their recorded work, but this first album didn't have a bad track on it and it made my friends and I proud that one of the bands we cranked up while partying were from KC. Definitely an underrated band in their time.

  • Back in the day, They got plenty of radio play here in Detroit. My favorites are Last chance and Hollywood. This band had talent!

  • I raised my kids who are now 15 and 17 years on 80's rock. Now they tell their friends about their favorites who are in turn eating it up.There is Guitar Hero exposing kids to good music too so maybe there is hope after all.

  • WOW....this so reminds me of my youth! Love this song so much! Those great old days....sniff, sniff....sorry, this brings tears to my eyes....I know I shouldn't live in the past, but wow, these days, life is alot harder...

  • Self respect robbed by self-pity, look across the country, All the people, with their dreams dead in their hearts.

  • Great! Thanks!

  • IS there a video for "Last Chance" which is really there signature song and best as well

  • I have never heard of its existence.

  • @orpheus2112 off course there is.. theres a great live version..too..

  • It is a basic video by TODAYS standards, but I loved to see that they PLAY the music and some of those sounds I have wondered about are NOT synthesizer. Great Band.

  • Thanks. One of the great underrated bands ever.Hard to find their stuff!

  • Great Rock n Roll! Rock on!!

  • ROCK N ROLL Yeah!!!!

  • Great band.Their first lp and silent scream

are classic aor. This is one of there best

songs. But their masterpiece last chance will

never be beaten.80s aor is still the best.

  • Just so....hauntingly beautiful.....

  • The whole song is amazing...but the very beginning is just so beautiful.....

  • One of the best songs ever made!!! Reminds me of college...such a sweet time...

  • What an amazing song and band. One of Van's best guitar riffs, Steve is the master on the drums and even Chaz can't say he didn't enjoy playing this back in the day. Long live the King! We miss you Bill.

  • aaaaahhhh...i remember!
