anti drugs theme!!!!!!is that all drugs or just the illegal ones,,,28,000 people in the uk,died from perfectly legal alcohol,,and tabaco welll 300,000 deaths is ok i suppose,,,u guys been brainwashed to by government propergander on the evils of drugs that u dont pay VAT on
You remember that trick your uncle used to do, where he removes one of his fingers, then puts it back on? Wesley did this with a circular saw, and despite best efforts of surgeons he lost most the felling in the fingers and can't play anymore. Sadly as he was absolutely at the top of his game when this happened, anything less than perfection's going to wreck his head. On the positive side, he's still involved in the music industry (in production i think) Fair play to him
This is abeautiful song. Hazel OConner was and still is a wonderful talent. The Alto sax is probably the best i have ever heard. It send tingles up my spine listening to it. Just cannot beat it. I saw Hazel OConner a few years ago, she still a wonderful singer and a very beautiful women.
This song is utterly magnificent. Wesley MacGoogans sax solo is without doubt the greatest piece of modern music ever recorded. it picks up every emotion of the song and lays it at your feet. it will still be played in 100 years..
Apart from the excellent sax solo I loved this cos it was on some "Love Album"in 84 that me and my ex used to listen to downstairs in the back room, struggling not to shag cos her psycho old man was in the front room. Anyone remember the Album by any chance? Other tracks were The Kane Gang, Collins-take a look at me now,-yea I know...
@Hirsute63 That was funny , your posting , Yeah but i remember it at that time ! Trying to chat birds up at the local disco! listening to this song dancing with the bird that felt sorry for you cos your mates were off outside with someone that you fancied. But when this song came on i didnt matter cos you were THE MAN !!!! The album was breaking glass i think? GOOD LUCK!
@gavinsolar & @hirsute63 i know the film was breaking class, i can remeber the album you refer to but have long since lost the " cassette " ( how old )
at our schols disco this wasnt played, cant think why. however i know now why the bit at the end of the disco was called the erection section.....
Happy days............... ( as i go of and look for some flying lizards, from the same era )
You drink your coffee and I sip my tea and where sitting here playing so cool thinking what will be will be.
Its getting kind of late now, I wonder if youll stay now or will you just politely say goodnight.
I move a little closer to you not knowing quite what to do and Ill.
Feeling all fingers and thumbs I spill my tea oh silly me, its getting kinder late now I wonder if youll stay now x 4 or will you just politely say goodnight.
One of the best sax solo ever, I saw breaking glass in 1980 when it came out, try for the last 10 years to find it on DVD or Video, can't. What a great movie that was i think it was a sort of cult movie for that generation
Absolutely fantastic track brings back lovely memories. This was and is our tune when we first met and 25years of marrage later we are still together. Hazel O'Connor brilliant artist!. Saxo awesome!
RE: the meaning; imagery originally commissioned for Pneumata Dance inspired by Dicken's story of the little match girl who dies on the streets trying to keep warm lighting matches. She dreams etc whilst dying. This is work in progress.Reset to moonscape inc.,image of syringe etc. Will chart younger character's destruction in isolation,to new music, visuals interactive with live performance:live feed onto pre recorded imagery and be longer.Loved this phase of development by Andy - the guy is great!
this is an unbelievably haunting song an the sax is spellbinding, lie in a darknd room an let it wash over u, heard loadsa great sax wi Ian Hunter, Mott The Hoople, Pink Floyd, Bowie, but i think this beats all.
When you stop being friends and become lovers. We've all been there. Brilliant lyrics. One of the best pop ballads ever. Incredible sax solo - and again one of the best 'pop' solos ever.
Hard one that, I suppose I was turning the inanimate into the thinking predator, as if there was really some meaning behind the things that happen. Apart from that it's just a story and a few ideas thrown together.

@RasMajnouni Wes Mcgoggan I believe. Not long after recording this song his fingers were lost in a circular saw accident.

@TheMadSoloist I went to wikipedia and found this info,as in other places. I've since found some great female saxaphone players whom are really good.
