I think the bigger problem with that judges is that they take away any seriousness out of the battles. If a character is fighting for their lives they aren't going to give two shits about some law about using swords.
You are right., judges are bullshit. The PS version didn't have them and it was perfectly fine. SquareEnix doesn't know anymore what the word "fun" means.
That just doesn't have the look of the original one at all does it ? I tried the other one a little bit and it was okay but I don't like the DS. If you're gonna walk around and play video games then at least reward yourself with a PSP GO. And they better go back to the original look if they make a 4th tactics title.

Besides that, JPs were actually a good idea because they rewarded you for not only killing enemies but also for preforming recommended actions. How do they reward you? With enough fire power to take down a god that's how!
Ok, Final fantasy Tactics A2 came out and I own it. there is not judge points, no cards, none of that crap
the judge isnt on your screen whereever you go. He sets a law and if you violate the law, he just makes it so you cant revive fallen party members. I dont even know how to do that to begin with! pheonix downs are wierd in that.. anyways, you get a reward if you respect the laws, at the end of the battle. none of the points, cards shit. if you know this already then good. you should.
you also forget that the one law on battles is very crippling and unfair. I had a law in one battle that forbade damage to a female unit...AND THE FIELD WAS FULL OF VIERA.
And there are laws that forbid buffs. (Easy enough; just avoid using a Green Mage; they're next to useless anyways)
