    douchebag

  • @IpkisStanley - ;-)

  • Very nice! Great sound !

  • very cool

  • I need to do this for guitar lesson at FLCC; could you post this as a tab on like Ultimate-Guitar or tab it and send it and I'll post it; I think it would be cool to play this for my teacher instead of the watered down beginner version he made. My teacher is Craig Snyder; he's locally "famous" and there are videos of him.

  • where did you get the back track?

  • It's a jamey aebersold. Goto his website and look for the book that has freddie freeloader in it...

  • Nice Work Tom- let me know when you tour the U.S. When you put your project out I'll definitely pass the word.

  • Who is this guy? Who is he studying with?

What area is he based out of?

  • Hi. My names Tom Quayle. I'm based in Leeds and studied at Leeds College of Music. I now play and teach full time.

  • I wish I could go there but it's a continent away. I'm interested in studying,- do you give private lessons

via internet. -(you know w/ the camera etc..)

  • Where do you teach? Im in leeds and interested in learning from you

  • you're great!!! Thanks for the post!

  • tom, do you plan on doing an instructional dvd or book? and do you do online lessons?

  • I like the playing and tone. Where did you get the backing track?

  • Which mesa boogie express model are you using how versatile is it? What kind of music will it handle?

  • Where can I get a copy of the background piano part?

  • Out of the Abersold Miles Davis play-along book from Amazon, is one option.

  • Hey this might be a lot to ask for but would you mind tabbing out a couple of good altered riffs that work good over blues progressions (where there's secondary dominants opposed to most jazz standards). I have plenty of good altered ii-V-I riffs but they don't sound very good over blues, not nearly as good as yours at least.

  • CAn you please explain how did you make that tone? What effects are you using, which magnet(I mean the position) and so on...what the seacret of your tone?

  • Hi there. I'm using the neck pickup through a Mesa Boogie Express head on the crunch channel with a small amount of gain. No pedals, just guitar straight into amp with a small amount of delay from a lexicon FX rack unit in the fx loop. Nothing too complex. Hope that helps.

  • can you jam on Giant Steps ? ^^

  • I have a Giant Steps video on my profile. Hope you enjoy it!

  • thanks !

do you think more in terms of what you can play as notes on the neck according to scales that are supposed to sound well in theory according to chords ?

or do you ear notes internally, and just try to play them as you would naturally sing them, the rational explanation about modes beeing done rationaly after ?

    or both ?

what's your approach about improvisation in fact ?

  • I want that guitar sooo much,I could cry...:(

  • u have a new fan!!

    keep the good work goin!

  • Tasty stuff!

  • what kind of scales do you use over this. because this is fantastic! especcialy on

    1,53

  • Hi. I'm using mixolydian and lydian dominant modes for the most with a lot of arpeggio based things too. Then altered scales like superlocrian and diminished ideas to imply harmony that's not on the original backing track. All stuff from my jazz background. Hope that helps!

    Tom

  • Oh and of course not forgetting the blues scale! Whoops!

  • Hi, Evie here! Loving the blues!

  • sweet!!!!!

  • how nice it is the blues without bendings ;)

  • that was freaking tasty man, you just have to teach me to play like this.. greetings from Venezuela
