  • Just a little tip. don't cut the steaks while they.re cooking because they will end up dry. Let'em rest a few minutes after you pull em off. It lets the juices render back into the meat.

  • The peppers and onions with that steak are a good idea, but because that is not a tender steak, it would have worked out much better if the steak had been cut in thin strips before cooking and then stir fried with the peppers and onions. (marinated strips first to tenderize). If you want to fry up a whole steak a more tender cut is required. Fun to watch, thanks for posting. cooking is fun.

  • If you want the pepper and onion flavor in the steak, try putting them into the marinade. Then cook them alongside the steak and they will not only flavor the meat, but will taste great from the marinade!

  • @coaster415 Thanks for the tip. It's like I always say. Let's all learn from each other. Joe Tactical

  • hey joe i've just joined the cast iron revolution and its the best move i've ever made! enjoy your videos. what temp do you preheat the grill at and during the cooking process?

  • Go to the dollar store and get your steak sauce

  • Don't turn then over more than once if you do you will make the steaks tuff

  • Hey, that smells GOOD... Except we missed the payoff... When you bite into it and let us know how excellent it is...

  • @mslizzyborden LOL... Yea it was pretty good. Im still not turned to the steak side full time... Ill stick to ground beef...LOL... Thanks for the comment Lizzy.

  • It's good that you are willing to venture in to cooking things you are not accustom to preparing or eating. Thumbs up!

  • @fletcher3913 Thanks... I cook a lot but I am trying to open some doors with some new ideas... Its really fun to cook with cast iron. I have some more cast iron geat that should be here tomorrow. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment. Its like I alway say. Lets all learn from each other. Joe Tactical

  • I've been using one of these for > 5 years and love it. Hints: Before putting the meat on, wipe the grate while it is hot with oil on a rag to prevent sticking. Rotate meat 90 degrees halfway thru cooking each side. Makes nice grill marks and distributes heat better. Don't use marinades on the grill. They will burn and are hard to clean. Scrape marinade off the meat before cooking for the same reason. Flavor is in the meat, not on it. Cook veggies directly on the grill after meat is done.

  • @TacticalGunsight Thanks for the tips. I really jumped on the cast iron banwagon with no regrets... Im looking for anything to cook on this stuff... Thanks for watching and for the tips... Its like I always say. Lets all learn from each other. Joe Tactical

  • Cut up some old t-shirts and use them on your cast iron, that is what I do and it costs me nothing, even if I buy t-shirts at a thrift store for 50 cents.

Put your towels in boiling water to gets germs and some stains out as well.

  • @rooftopeagle Thanks... The T-shirt idea is a great idea... The terry towles leave a lot of cling ons and the t-shirt cooton would be less of that... Good heads up on the boiling to clean too... Thanks man.

  • I bought two of those griddles when they were on sale. I took one and used my grinder to grind off the ridges then re-season them and I have cast iron cookie sheets!

  • @rooftopeagle Thats cool. I think I might get another griddle at some point. This griddle is reverseable... Ribbed on this top side and smooth on the bottom side. Good way to think out side the box man.
