  • sounds like a dutch accent .... am i right?

  • @theovl316 Yup :)

  • Great lesson, thank you very much! You are the only one to explain the right hand meticulously. Now I can start working on this amazing piece of music. Thanks again! Groeten, Thijs

  • thank you SO much for this lesson! *-*

  • Very cool, thanks you really got me into this song!

  • Great lesson. I love this song and I find it easy to learn watching this. Just have one query though. At 3:37 you say to play the 3rd string. Maybe I miss it but I don't see this played in the faster versions of the same sequence before or after.

  • very good! finally someone who can really teach this music. All others are too fast

  • At last an explination as to the tuning and finger picking. Great lesson - got it. Thank you!!

  • im from america... i love your accent! and how u say capo!!! Great tuitorial btw(: you helped me a LOT

  • Very good leason for those of us not real good with tabs yet. Very clear. Thanks, bud.

  • @TurboShots: whys does he has to adds so many notes

  • Hoi Ebi Tron. Ik speel 'm in gewone stemming in C inclusief het hoge tussenstuk. Nooit geweten dat je moest omstemmen.Aals je geinteresseerd bent dan schrijf ik 'm voor je uit.

  • HEy thanks Ebitron! Great taste in music and a very capable pedagogue.

  • Finding? Mate, you play it. The TAB is in your head, you only have to write it down and publish it as an addition to your fantastic video!

  • do you watch the cartoon Metalocalypse?

  • @TurboShorts Never heard of it. Why?

  • @EbiTron Just because, one of the characters is a guitar-playing Dutchman!

  • @EbiTron You are Toki Wartooth, that's why.

  • @TurboShorts he likes toos plays the grandpas guitars!

  • @TurboShorts were you thinking about Toki too? lol

  • @useagle1 YES! I feel good knowing someone knows what I'm talking about haha

  • @TurboShorts i do! dethklok is one of my favorite bandss. :D

  • @TurboShorts ...He does sound like the cat on metalocalypse..lol

  • Hi Mate!

Nice lesson you brought out here. Do you have the tabs for your version, because sometimes your explanations are a bit confusing!

    Cheers!

  • @MrJudgeSauter I'm sorry, I haven't found them yet.

  • Your version is so much easier to play. I've tried other lessons on Utube but yours is the best. You do a good job of explaining each step and that makes learning so much faster, I finally learned this song in a short while. Thank you so much. God bless you.

  • is there a way to play this in standard tuning?

  • @bartlche000

yeah it goes c, g c,then a b7 pattern on the 3rd fret. but you should branch off to other tunings if you haven't- it's so much fun!

all you need is a little electronic tuner and you won't get stuck out of tune :)

  • @bartlche000 nah man, the bass notes are dropped down...i mean you could do it in standard but youd still need a capo and one hell of a stretchy hand

  • watch "jonnygitar38" playing never going back

  • Thank you for this lesson!

  • Much respect for taking the time to do these lessons, I'm fairly new to the guitar and have about mastered lesson one and getting ready to start on lesson two.

The time you have spent making everything clear is really appreciated, keep it up! :)

  • Why do people like geelad6969 even bother commenting. I'd like to see some of his stuff. Thank you ebitron, I totally understand what you are talking about. If geelad6969 is challenged by this he has more than one problem.

  • Thanks for sharing!!

  • God I hate your fucking rudeness

  • Has anyone seen tab for L.B.'s new little solo he inserted lately into this song?

  • I tried it and the Verse Rif is much easier whereas the Chorus doesn't change much. I find that dropping my E all the way down to C leaves the 6th string a little too loose for my taste.

  • If you watch L.B. play it on video he clearly uses DROP D Tuning! L.B. even has a video lesson on Guitar World. Open C might be a little easier but wouldn't you rather play it as originally performed?

  • Yes, Lindsay uses drop D. But this way it's way easier to play, so why don't play it this way?

  • @JohnCorina Guitar Pro 5 uses the C tuning also... in both versions

playing it the easy way might be better for most people

  • @JohnCorina dude it doesnt change the song at all, in drop C you can play it note for note, so it is as originally performed. why are you trippin? its not like hes gonna make a whole other video because you said hes wrong...and dont tell him how to play a song he knows how to play already

  • @JohnCorina

If you feel strongly about the Drop - 'D' option, why don't you post a lesson doing it? It's been my opservation that there are not many on line using that option that are any good at all. The lesson by LB you are refering to totally sucks. He does not teach it the way it was originally recorded or performed - he dosn't use a capo at all and I thought the lesson was more about him than anything. This is a good lesson and and seems to be a good alternative. Good Job!

  • @JohnCorina it doesnt matter if u play it in drop D or open C. the notes r the same. it sounds the same. the secret to playing guitar is making it sound good, not playing it exactly right. trust me on this. btw, ive seen buckingham play it at least two different ways

  • I play this with 6th down to D and fifth to

G DGDEAD sounds great, put the capo where you feel comfortable, 4th or 5th is about right well played mate

  • nice tutorial. helped a lot :)

  • ey volgens mij woon jij in almere of nie? :P

  • zeer goed!!

  • this is an excellent tutorial!! and you are so adorable. :P

  • Thanks :) :$

  • you are so sweet :) I like your accent, and great lesson thank you!

  • I´ll agree this is easier to learn but the original is done with a dropped D tuning with the capo on the fourth fret.

  • Agree - original is drop d capo 4

  • It's actually the exact same thing. Lowering the 6th string to C and the fifth to G compensates for moving the capo to the 6th fret. All of the notes come out the exact same as the dropped D tuning.

  • dude, why the wacked out tuning? the original version is done by tuning the low E down to D and capo at the 4th fret, give the original another listen or watch lindsay do it.

  • This isn't a wacked-out tuning. This is the tuning of the original song, on the LP. However, Lindsey plays it live in a different tuning. This way it's way easier to learn.

  • this is not the tuning of the original, the original lp version is dropping the low E to D and capo at the 4th fret. I see what your doing to make it easier to play but it is not the buckingham way of doing it, trust me, lindsay plays it in the same tuning live and on the lp, recently he has capoed it lower on the 2nd fret or i even saw him do it with no capo at all but he has always used the same tuning, So teach it how you wish, but dont pass it off as the way lindsay buckingham does it.

  • Live he plays it in this tuning and capo on 4th fret. You can look a other videos.

  • thanx for ur time, effort, talent and generosity, i wish i had internet when i was growing up at the time this song came out on the radio, most people take this shit for granted, dont let morons discourage u from doing this, there are alot of us that do appreciate people like u, i never learned this song cause it seemed impossible, but now i can put it in my list of songs conquered.

  • figuring out what a genius did, does that make u a geius as well? I mean no offense.

  • i understand your lesson, but i cant finger play that quickly im going to keep practicing, thanks!

  • good shit..thnx!

  • n1 tron, this lesson will make a lot of casual axemen very happy.. a great tune to play at any level. well done ;)

  • Thank you my friend! I always wanted to learn this, but I am not good at open tuning by ear! Take care, dave the guitar guy

  • washburn d10 sb?

  • Yes :)

  • got one myself about 6 years ago it sounds better every day

  • Sweet video thanks alot

  • Uhh, my sources tell me this song is in drop D tuning with the capo on the 4th fret. And I think it's a pretty good source. I have the official tabs and have seen him play it.

  • You mean Ultimate Guitar Tabs? Yeah, really great source you have there... this way is a lot easier.

  • You wonderful person!!! Thanks a lot!!!!!!

Very few peolple willing to share liek you. Thanks for your time.

  • Lesson 3 is online!

  • cool thanx!

  • thought this was played in drop d with a capo on 4?

  • It varies. Lindsey plays it live in drop d, but on the original CD he plays it this way, with capo on 6.

  • wered you here that?

  • T-t-t-TODAY JUNIOR!!!

  • ....dude...you...ROCK!!!

  • i went and bought a capo especially so i could learn this off u! thnx!

  • Thank you very much bro!

  • Hey EbiTron, thanks for Lesson 1....hurry up with school so you can start on Lesson 2. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together. I'll be looking often for Lesson 2. Take it easy...

  • Part 2 will follow soon, but I'm very busy with school, so I don't have much time..

  • part 2........??

  • zou je alsjeblieft de rest van het nummer erop willen zetten?probeer hem al een poos te leren maar niemand legt hem echt goed uit.alvast bedankt

  • Comment removed

  • excellent - thanks !

  • drop d 4th fret capo bro

  • The original isn't. And moreover, it's way easier to play it this way.

  • this song is with a capo on the 4th fret with a drop d tuning.

  • Jeez..all this silly arguing over the tuning. Why does everyone get so orthodox about it.

Its all the same notes being played in either tuning. For some Wahine falls more easily on the hand...for others drop d...meh, who cares. It's all interpretation of the source anyhow.

  • i'm really looking forward for the second part

  • The actual song is played with the capo on the 4th. With the 6th string tuned to d.

  • Nope, the one on the CD (LP?) is played in this tuning, with the capo on the 4th fret. Lindsey Buckingham plays it in drop D live.

  • I'm not sure about that, why would he do it one way live and the other way not???

  • No idea, but just search for the original song on Youtube (the not-live version). I can assure you that that one is definately not played in Drop D.

  • great video cant wait for the second one

  • this is pretty boring dude, sorry gotta go

  • omg daniel whoooj
