Fantastic song! Blue Oyster Cult is the hardest rocking, most lyrically gifted, BEST sounding rock/metal/bluesy shock rock band EVER!!!! Long live Eric and Buck!
Fantastic song. Blue Oyster Cult is the hard rocking, most lyrically gift, BEST sounding rock/metal/bluesy shock rock band EVER!!!! Long live Eric and Buck!
This entire album is a frickin masterpiece! It got under everyone radar in '88 which is unfortunate but those of us lucky enough to know it have gladly claimed it as our excellent little secret. easily in my top 10 of the greatest rock albums of all time.
The story behind Imaginos reminds me a lot of Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers. 7 invisible men guiding history, secretly protecting the world behind the scenes. Both very inspired works of art.
This song (along with everything else on this album) is brilliantly thought out. Please notice that the background vocals singing the single word "seven", do so...seven times. Excellent.
I was about 10 years old (1990) when my father bought this audio cassette, Imaginos album. He bought it by accident, it was very cheap, it was like:"instead of a change, take this tape". Thanks to this band and that tape many doors were open in my mind. I knew shit about music, but this album seemed to be very intellectual and mystical to me, "higher level", I loved it. I'm not into this kind of music anymore, but this album has a special place in my heart and mind.
Does anyone know why Buck won't play this song live? His vocals are so great here, plus this is a great rock and roll song. Perfectly suited for a live performance...imagine this and Perfect Water back to back done live! Wow!
From Buck's chatroom whenever this album gets brought up a lot of posters complain about the muddy mix. I never got that on mine. The production was going for a sonic density and layering of sounds while keeping the core tunefulness intact. Very ambitious. I think when the 1st solo lead on I am the One you Warned Me of comes up but is pushed down in the mix it makes me shiver man-whta a ballsy move and very effective for the tone of the album's concept.
@aocidicoa I played my cassette into the ground. It took an introduction to the weird and wild world of cyberspace to find that; lo and behold, this CD had been reissued...
@gothsdontcry actually its by Sandy Pearlman and Albert Bouchard, all of it cept Astronomy, they did it while Albert was out of the band as a solo project, record co would not release it, only as a BOC, so they reunited, but it didn't last, writing credits were added on the BOC album, Alberts demo is available from time to time do a search, its really good
is this the song that aldo nova played on i know he played on this album but not sure what song
