@Zimmermann177 Indeed, society must take conscience about an important issue like this instead of being hypocrit and turn their eyes to the other side, acting like everything was fine.
He surely is a fantastic vocalist. He's voice goes a lot higher in conception than it does in Kamelot. Am I the only one noticing that? Anyway it's a brilliant song.
@000HaDeeL000 The one in Lunar Sanctum has lots of effects on it, so it's abit hard to hear what note it actually is, also, the live version of "the fourth legacy" (from greece, 2000) and solar serpent has some really high notes.
i seen these live in aprox 94/5/6 supporting skyclad at jb,s in dudley west midlands, fuckin awsum band live and ive got the album paralel minds on vinyl sumwere
Hi guys, if you like Roy Khan (and/or Kamelot) feel free to check my Kamelot bootleg, to see how he's doing (vocally) in the year 2010. Conception ftw!! - Best european progpower band ever.
The reason is personal flavor, difference in sound quality and experience. In my opinion he was better in conception. But kamelot have now better quality in the recordings, not to mention these bands play totally different music. Both are good bands tho.
Yep. There's no doubt in my mind about that, but songs are meant to be interpreted on a personal level. Even though this particular song seems to be more clear. Brings me to tears man... damn good song.
You have to take into consideration as a man ages he can't hit the higher ranges vocally. A man also loses his ability to hear higher pitch sounds as well. He still has an amazing voice, he just can't hit the high end range he could in his youth. Don't get me wrong though there are always exceptions.
Actually not true...IF you take care of your voice very well, your range is supposed to increase a little as you get older until about age 50 or 55. You have to take very good care of your voice though.
I think his voice is better now. Though he may not have the same range, he seems to have more control over his voice and the deeper vocals really fits in with the sound Kamelot have in my opinion. :)
Another song where he goes quite high is in The Fourth Legacy.
I was shocked by vocals... It was Roy KHAN, definitely !!! Ballads suit him very well, everytime. Does anyone can tell me when did he belong Conception's vocalist and when he left it ?
He sings this high a lot, but I think what's throwing people off is that here he's singing in a different style. A more metal-oriented vocal style, I think. Wheras with Kamelot, his higher notes tend to be more operatic.
Im so glad i stumbled upon Kamelot 6 years ago, and then i found Conception Khans voice is amazing, and these 2 bands are my top 2 LOVE KAMELOT&CONCEPTION!
I think what was meant is that he uses his voice better. He fits it better to the music. Range, while important , is not everything. Control, technique, vibrato style, everything goes into telling how good a voice is. And Khan has gotten better at everything since then. His higher range dropped a bit (or at least, he doesn't use it), but his lower range expanded.
@ChymeraxeSOH I soo agree with you. These lyrics are so Touching.
I just feel sorry that I got to discover Conception AFTER I found Kamelot :S but a great voice will always be a great voice. He's got a Gifted Talent, no one else can say the same. This man was touched by an Angel himself!
conception were far beyond their times and to me they're the most interesting metal band of the last 30 years together with queensryche and fates warning
Is that Khan from Kamelot? It sounds like him, but it sounds too young. He wasn't in metal until Kamelot. That is what he said anyway. Did he do this during early Kamelot?
Does anyone know where to find him in an opera? He says his Opera voice is mega different from his metal voice, and I want to hear it.
No they just reformed for one quick tour. They are not getting back together to make new music, or at least nothing has been said about them making new music.
Conception did a few shows together in 2005 but that's it for know, Khan is concentrating on Kamelot. I know Tore went on to create Ark but i'm not sure if the others did or not.
She lays her head on her pillow says her prayers with no sound there's a shadow by her window telling her there'll be no one else to know Silent crying for a childhood gone by she's slowly dying with the secret she hides close to her heart...
Perfeita essa música!

The high note in this song (Slient Crying) is an E5, 2:35, so that's higher than the one in Silent Godess.
