You are lucky in the US. Forgein people who´ll came there learn the language and what to be a part of your great country. In Germany forgein people came, who just want aid, don´t give a fuck about the country and you have to explain that they should please german. But instead of that, most of em live in their own world and become criminals
Thanks for setting the 'example' for an old guy in IOBC. Two weeks prior to graduation, you invited my wife and I to dinner at your apartment. My guess is that Carolina is a big girl now.
NEVER! will I forget how you "willed" my sorry butt across the finish line of the 5 mile run.
Eighteen years later, my inability to 'quit' is anchored in what you taught me!
I served along side Maj. Padron while he was a Captain with the 1/124th back in 2003. Great person and an equally great leader. The Military needs more leaders like him.
Yes, he was enlisted prior to becoming an Officer. In my honest opinion, that makes the BEST officers. As an enlisted soldier, it's a good feeling to know that the orders being given to me is coming from someone who was in my shoes (boots) in the past.
He's wearing ranger tab, pathfinder badge, air assault, and combat infantryman's badge. IN other words, he is a badass, unlike that bitch DePinto. He is also still in the Reserves while DePinto was purely five and fly.
morningtruth, I earned the same badges as Padron. So I guess that makes me a badass? If so, listen to me and stop tearing down folks who are trying to help bring in great junior officer candidates. We don't need folks with your attitude.
Dobbins, we want officers that are dedicated and care about the army that are willing to put the army and the country before themselves and their family. I grew up in a military family my entire life and so has my father, and my grandfather. We know what it truly means to serve this country. We put the country's needs before our own ambitions. That is what the army needs... not people that take advantage of the Army for their own needs/education.
hahahaha u fuckin speak the truth brotha. this badass part of a ranger regiment, and a high top notch civilian worker making bank!!! DAMN! that is fuckin impressive! not some bitch "de pinto" who was some fuckin pussy doing paper work all of his life, especially he is west point grad?? u fuckin kiddin me? i expect MORE out of a west point grad. what a fuckin PUSSY!
I just have more respect for Padron because he is a reservist, staying in the military longer than the basic commitment - he even went to combat as well. DePinto on the other hand, did his basic 5 and left - nothing impressive except for the fact he's making bank... they shouldn't be recruiting people for the military that way.

I hate it when people say the army military teaches nothing but how to kill. It teaches teamwork, brotherhood, and more.

Be careful not to confuse commitment with competence, or experience with perspective.
Now that I see you are a cadet I will respond privately.
dobbins99 2 years ago
Exactly, that's the problem with the soldiers now, they just can't put the Army above themselves.

is the army really trying to recruit officers at this time? Are the officer ranks really low?
quest8899 2 years ago
not really the services are overflowing..this is for PR
duneranger 2 years ago
Is it hard to be an officer in the army? I already have a degree.
quest8899 2 years ago
ocs for people with a degree is pretty intense...so yes...

My high school French teacher just made it through the OCS, he was 30 at the time.
I think you can do it if with determination.

actually the Army times reported an officer shortage within the army along with the marine corps....both services are scrambling for new officers
skasteve626 2 years ago
@skasteve626 Actually the shortage only comes only among the captain/major ranks
duneranger 2 years ago
Where can I find a credible source for that statement?
DukeOfBattles 2 years ago
@DukeOfBattles I read it in a recent article online and have had a few officers tell me that.
duneranger 2 years ago
@DukeOfBattles mostly because captains are usually finishing their commitment at 4 years and leaving active thus the shortage of majors too

looks good when they have a shot of him in a suit and right after in a uniform, pretty good commercial

I like the manner in which it was executed by the production company.
