  • Guitar chords is E,G - C,D enjoy ;]

  • It's definitely kurt, the voice, well the screams, are a lot like his. Also the song is kind of his style when he was starting.

  • i love this classic, unedited, dirty grunge sound

  • Fecal Matter anyone?

  • cool. i never before heard this.

  • Thanks for the treat brother. Although this has to be the most fucjing sloppy nirvana song I've ever heard. Still good,it's just fucking unbelievable hah

  • Can't say for sure who's playing with him, but that is definitely Kurt. It sounds like something from the Mrs. Butterworth or White Lace and Strange period.

  • Actually, LiveNIRVANA is on the fence about whether or not this is a faked recording.

Still, that doesn't stop me from thinking that it at least SOUNDS like Nirvana. (I mean, the vocals do sound like they were recorded by Kurt...)

  • Where or how did you ever find out about his song , its not listed anywhere , not on forums or anything like that , i also believe i had probably heard every Nirvana song , but did not even know about the existence of this song

  • @curmudgeonhate Same thing for me - thought I knew and heard all of Kurts songs but definately a nice surprise.

  • where the fuck did you find this?

  • @DukeSecom second!

  • this wasnt befor nirvana, thats definantly chad channing on drums,(you can tell by the constant cymble tapping), and definantly krist on bass.

  • And i thought i had heard every NIRVANA song.

  • no doubt huge nirvana fan never heard this before thank u!!!!

  • I fucking love that kind of stuff, Nirvana's most popular songs are fucking good too of course, but that kind of stuff is fucking better ! I love unreleased or rares , well you get it.. ! ^^

  • just when i thought id heard everything Nirvana/Cobain.....this comes along! Thanks!

  • IT couldn't be in 1982/1984 because nirvana was formed in 1987,but It could be other band with kurt like fecal matter!

  • Very good!!! I like this demo.

  • wanna touch krists head at 1:15

  • i think it could be nirvana, but probly not. the type of recording sounds (to me) like a computer mic. i have recorded songs (with guitar, drums and everything else) and the sound is nearly the same. if this IS a computer mic recording, its fake, cuz kurt never used a computer to record his stuff. otherwise, kinda sounds like early nirvana (drumming is shit, but wutev lol)

  • it quite sounds like scentless aprendice

  • Very GG ALLIN-esque meets TRUE punk!

  • That's Kurt's voice for sure. This sounds more like something he would've wrote in 1990 more than it would 82-84.

  • @MeagerNick No, it isn't.

  • @runnersdialzero333 What makes you think it isn't kurt? I mean, I think it sounds like Kurt because of the way his voice sorta cracks at certain points, but what about this makes you think it isn't kurt?

  • @gamer1098qw I've been into Nirvana since I was nine years old. I've heard basically everything out there that there is to hear. Listen to the spoken word part - that's not Kurt. This is a sad Nirvana imitation, likely by a bunch of kids. Kurt NEVER sounded this horrible or overblown, vocally.

  • Comment removed

  • @gamer1098qw "Buffy's Pregnant" sounds like Kurt speaking. "Mrs.Butterworth" sounds like Kurt speaking. This sounds like a guy who is not Kurt Cobain speaking.

  • Comment removed

  • @gamer1098qw "Get more acquainted"? Listening to them obsessively in my youth and having their songs burned into my brain after 17 years of hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of listens is about enough for me. Kurt never sounded this shitty vocally or wrote anything nearly this bad, even the super early stuff. The spoken word bit sounds nothing like him. Same goes for the scream in the chorus before it and the scream at the end of the spoken word bit. Not Kurt and not Nirvana.

  • @gamer1098qw Such a mature attitude! My hearing is perfectly fine, I've worked with recording for a decade now, and I've been listening to Nirvana the majority of my life. I know an amateur shitshow imitation of Nirvana when I hear one, and this would be it.

  • @runnersdialzero333

Okay, when I'm pissed off, my maturity level drops a bit. I'm done, the end...go away.

  • @gamer1098qw Naw.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, that bassline is kinda catchy

  • All because of YoOOyahhv

  • Could this be possibly from the Fecal Matter demo. I've only ever heard Spank Thru off that so would've been circa. 1985.

  • @ursulafinallyhastits No. It's not a Nirvana song.

  • PUPPY SINGING YEAH-HEAH

    PUPPY SINGING YEAH-HEAH

    PUPPY SINGING YEAH-HEAH

    PUPPY SINGING YEAH-HEAH

    Not Nirvana.

  • This is so Kurt :D

  • whaaaat!? cant believe i've never heard this.

  • Now this is PUNK!

  • Nobody can scream like Kurt Cobain....

  • @Headwyres what about your mom???? lol jokes

  • @GnosticPrince I think the "all because of youuuuu!" part is kinda catchy.

  • @grungegopher totally agree sounds great

  • @GnosticPrince your clueless

  • @GnosticPrince You just don't have ears the guitar the scream the drums the distorion are all catchy

  • @GnosticPrince This is more like the music Cobain listened to than the stuff he later made

  • This is awesome!

  • @GnosticPrince this is a a real song dumbass

  • @GnosticPrince obviously this was a stepping stone :) You have to make crap music before the good stuff :P

  • @GnosticPrince Uhavenohooks. the hookis ALLBECAUSEOF UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • @seanskelding No.

  • @runnersdialzero333 YES YES FUCKOFF NOW

  • @seanskelding Nop. This is not Nirvana.

  • @GnosticPrince thats the biggest load of shit I have heard

  • @GnosticPrince ur opinion man...

  • WTF? Never heard of it... cool.

  • @GnosticPrince this is an expression.

  • No hooks...never mind that the rhythm is basically a fast/loud version of "About A Girl" ... nope, not catchy at all.

  • @arlobrubaker sarcasm btw

  • exactly like the pixies! slow verse fast chorus

  • @MrGhost321 I don't know why the Pixies always get credit for that. So many bands did it before them

  • @HoosierMF kurt cobain said he ripped of the pixies when writing smells like teen spirit, he said he copied their fast chorus slow verse

  • @MrGhost321 Actually it's quiet verse/loud chorus. Either way, most rock bands use the same formula so it's wrong to give Pixies the credit for it.

  • Comment removed

  • @HoosierMF sure. the beatles, the stooges..but what pixies do and what are credit for is for the whisper-screaming way they did it...not just for an slow to uptempo structure.

  • @MatoSilverati Underground and experimental bands have been doing that for years. As I said, that verse-chorus thing is an insignificant detail. The Pixies should have got more credit for their original sound and compositional skills. Kim and David's simple but powerful rhythms, Joey's incredible lead work and of course Frank's vocals. There aren't many bands who can move so naturally between different music styles and still retain their own identity.

  • i never found this track when i used to religiously search for unreleased nirvana songs.. pretty sure this is them.. no boudts adoubt it

  • its its before 89 its not nirvana. its Fecal Matter

  • could have been anyone speaking vocals.... this is definitely cobain.

  • It sure sounds like a early kurt cobain recording :)

  • @spicegirlsfan472 Yep. Try using headphones, it's clearer that way.

  • sounds like about a girl on beggining

  • I reduced the hiss on it with MAGIX MUSIC MAKER when I did my cover and a lot of it is garbled and probably stream-of-conciousness type stuff (like many early demos of Kurt's).

And . .. the spoken word part sounds a bit like Mrs. Butterworth, but again, that's just my opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • @spicegirlsfan472 It's really clear that he's saying "All because of you!". The rest of the lyrics are alot harder to understand. And this is mentioned on the Live Nirvana board. The general consensus was that it sounds like Kurt's voice but they can't confirm it due to lack of information and generally bad sound quality.

  • @spicegirlsfan472 My guess is someone heard a tape of a rehearsal and made a copy and that circulated around between a few people for a while until someone with a cassette/mp3 converter finally got ahold of it.

It'd be alot of work to record something on cassette and make it sound SO MUCH like Kurt and then upload it, etc. Even the lyrics scream Cobain.

  • @spicegirlsfan472

Right, and you've heard every boombox and rehearsal tape that exists in Courtney's and Aaron Burkhardt's and Krist Novoselic's and Eric Erlandson's possession? Unlikely, but you're the self-appointed Nirvana expert. Sure sounds like Kurt to me.

  • where the hell do you get these??

  • @spicegirlsfan472 Pretty sure this is. Anyone who knows Kurts voice and screams would NEVER mistake that for anything else.

  • damn Kurt we miss you man!

  • bigga than elvis...

    great !

  • Great screaming

  • I think this is amazing! very possibly just a jam with Krist and Chad changing instruments. Its definately from a band practice. Theres only a few people that would have a band practice tape.

  • great find! I love it when gems like this surface!

  • @CobainsRemains

Hell ya me 2 and 3

Keep the great rare nirvana coming .

  • Real music.

  • the one person that disliked this,... i hope you die

  • @psykel69 Yes a very painful one to like being ran over by a street cleaner with all those metal brissels

  • hell yeah a nirvana song i havent heard rip kurt cobain

  • Nice

  • anybody think the riff kinda sounds like about a girl?

  • @Drewer123 It's the exact same riff, just with distortion on it.

  • Comment removed

  • it's like Girl Trouble meets the Butthole Surfers haha :]

  • According to FrankNirvana, Kurt's family think it sounds real. No one knows who or when this was recorded, but by Kurt's scream this could probably be the Fecal Matter/Bleach era. William Clarke reported back that this is not seaside suicide. "nope, i've had Aunt Mari Listen to it, she likely would have recognized the lyrics" he says.

  • Great upload! It's so rare to find a Nirvana song I'm not familiar with! Thanks again! RIP Kurt

  • haha, love it :)

  • Never came across this one before. Sounds Fecal Matter-y. Was this recorded live at a practice session, or is it from a gig?

  • Finally, something new! xD And some pictures I've never seen... Thanks for the upload!

  • i've heard this before ,i heard it was fake.

  • THIS IS RADDDDD! AL BECAUSE OF UUUU

  • Sounds like shit.....Just the way Kurt would have liked it.

  • Kurt lives on !!

  • so cool where did you find this

  • Rofl... Grohl used to be a goofy looking mofo. It's hard to believe that Nirvana era Grohl and the Grohl from today are the same person sometimes. Even Novoselic looks a lot different, I guess a couple of decades will do that to ya. I wonder what Kurt would look like today. I mean he would have turned 44 at the end of February so you know he would have aged substantially. Hmmm.

  • it sucks soooo much to be born into an age of pop i wish i was born ten years earlier

  • @finlaycarlon "Every ten years there is always a handful of really really good bands, there always has been"

It's out there in the underground buddy.

  • Yes! another unknown Nirvana song released! :D Thanks for the update grungegophor! ^^ Nirvana forever!

  • man, that voice was something spectacular. thanks for the upload ...

  • Awesome find!!! It's funny how their cutting room scraps and demos are better than most successful bands nowadays.

  • Where do you find this stuff?

  • good find! 5*

  • I like Kurt and Nirvana alot.

But I don't like this song...

  • Comment removed

  • so sensitive

  • Nice long live kurt r.i.p

  • you reckon stone temple pilots heard this?

they were incredibly notorious for ripping other bands off and the intro sounds a hell of a lot like Unglued from their album Purple. When was this recorded?

  • @ricochetfuzzy It says it in the very beginning. 1988 demo.

  • @geektar03 oh yeah :P

  • Yay :D a nirvana song i haven't heard!

  • @NicksComments i heard it :D

  • I wish lived through the 90's instead of being born in the middle of them R.I.P Kurt.

  • @KrazyLuke360 the world needs kids to pick up guitars an keep on rockin out, make this decade yours and play some loud ass guitar dude.

  • @KrazyLuke360 dude i know i feel the same

  • Awesome pictures, kinda shitty quality, but, I mean, come on, it IS a demo XD hahaha Great though, love Nirvana, Love Kurt, Krist, and Dave, great video, thanks :D
