Thanks for the treat brother. Although this has to be the most fucjing sloppy nirvana song I've ever heard. Still good,it's just fucking unbelievable hah
Can't say for sure who's playing with him, but that is definitely Kurt. It sounds like something from the Mrs. Butterworth or White Lace and Strange period.
Where or how did you ever find out about his song , its not listed anywhere , not on forums or anything like that , i also believe i had probably heard every Nirvana song , but did not even know about the existence of this song
I fucking love that kind of stuff, Nirvana's most popular songs are fucking good too of course, but that kind of stuff is fucking better ! I love unreleased or rares , well you get it.. ! ^^
i think it could be nirvana, but probly not. the type of recording sounds (to me) like a computer mic. i have recorded songs (with guitar, drums and everything else) and the sound is nearly the same. if this IS a computer mic recording, its fake, cuz kurt never used a computer to record his stuff. otherwise, kinda sounds like early nirvana (drumming is shit, but wutev lol)
@runnersdialzero333 What makes you think it isn't kurt? I mean, I think it sounds like Kurt because of the way his voice sorta cracks at certain points, but what about this makes you think it isn't kurt?
@gamer1098qw I've been into Nirvana since I was nine years old. I've heard basically everything out there that there is to hear. Listen to the spoken word part - that's not Kurt. This is a sad Nirvana imitation, likely by a bunch of kids. Kurt NEVER sounded this horrible or overblown, vocally.
@gamer1098qw "Buffy's Pregnant" sounds like Kurt speaking. "Mrs.Butterworth" sounds like Kurt speaking. This sounds like a guy who is not Kurt Cobain speaking.
@gamer1098qw "Get more acquainted"? Listening to them obsessively in my youth and having their songs burned into my brain after 17 years of hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of listens is about enough for me. Kurt never sounded this shitty vocally or wrote anything nearly this bad, even the super early stuff. The spoken word bit sounds nothing like him. Same goes for the scream in the chorus before it and the scream at the end of the spoken word bit. Not Kurt and not Nirvana.
@gamer1098qw Such a mature attitude! My hearing is perfectly fine, I've worked with recording for a decade now, and I've been listening to Nirvana the majority of my life. I know an amateur shitshow imitation of Nirvana when I hear one, and this would be it.
@HoosierMF sure. the beatles, the stooges..but what pixies do and what are credit for is for the whisper-screaming way they did it...not just for an slow to uptempo structure.
@MatoSilverati Underground and experimental bands have been doing that for years. As I said, that verse-chorus thing is an insignificant detail. The Pixies should have got more credit for their original sound and compositional skills. Kim and David's simple but powerful rhythms, Joey's incredible lead work and of course Frank's vocals. There aren't many bands who can move so naturally between different music styles and still retain their own identity.
I reduced the hiss on it with MAGIX MUSIC MAKER when I did my cover and a lot of it is garbled and probably stream-of-conciousness type stuff (like many early demos of Kurt's).
And . .. the spoken word part sounds a bit like Mrs. Butterworth, but again, that's just my opinion.
@spicegirlsfan472 It's really clear that he's saying "All because of you!". The rest of the lyrics are alot harder to understand. And this is mentioned on the Live Nirvana board. The general consensus was that it sounds like Kurt's voice but they can't confirm it due to lack of information and generally bad sound quality.
@spicegirlsfan472 My guess is someone heard a tape of a rehearsal and made a copy and that circulated around between a few people for a while until someone with a cassette/mp3 converter finally got ahold of it.
It'd be alot of work to record something on cassette and make it sound SO MUCH like Kurt and then upload it, etc. Even the lyrics scream Cobain.
Right, and you've heard every boombox and rehearsal tape that exists in Courtney's and Aaron Burkhardt's and Krist Novoselic's and Eric Erlandson's possession? Unlikely, but you're the self-appointed Nirvana expert. Sure sounds like Kurt to me.
I think this is amazing! very possibly just a jam with Krist and Chad changing instruments. Its definately from a band practice. Theres only a few people that would have a band practice tape.
According to FrankNirvana, Kurt's family think it sounds real. No one knows who or when this was recorded, but by Kurt's scream this could probably be the Fecal Matter/Bleach era. William Clarke reported back that this is not seaside suicide. "nope, i've had Aunt Mari Listen to it, she likely would have recognized the lyrics" he says.
Rofl... Grohl used to be a goofy looking mofo. It's hard to believe that Nirvana era Grohl and the Grohl from today are the same person sometimes. Even Novoselic looks a lot different, I guess a couple of decades will do that to ya. I wonder what Kurt would look like today. I mean he would have turned 44 at the end of February so you know he would have aged substantially. Hmmm.
they were incredibly notorious for ripping other bands off and the intro sounds a hell of a lot like Unglued from their album Purple. When was this recorded?
Awesome pictures, kinda shitty quality, but, I mean, come on, it IS a demo XD hahaha Great though, love Nirvana, Love Kurt, Krist, and Dave, great video, thanks :D

@MrGhost321 Actually it's quiet verse/loud chorus. Either way, most rock bands use the same formula so it's wrong to give Pixies the credit for it.
