I'm actually debating which of these two cars to buy.. They both have there pros and cons.. But I'm most likely gonna get the saleen just because it has a back seat and its a great looking car... There both really nice cars and all but I just cant live with only 2 seats.. Don't get me wrong though but the corvette has and will always be king of the road and beat any mustang.. But who knows maybe when I test drive the C6 I might change my mind :)

As a former owner of an 04 Cobra and a current owner of a C6 Vette I have to admitted stock for stock the Vette is a tad faster. Good thing about the Cobra though for about 1500 bucks you can make that Cobra run with a stock C6 Z06! To be fair you really can't compair the two cars. They are both great in their own way. As far as that one guy on here bashing the IRS, with a little beefing up that IRS has handled over 800 hp with no problems.

I bought an 06' Vette a few years ago, it IS the superior car. It's reliable, fast, VERY fuel efficient for a 6.0L 400hp car capable of 0-60 in 4 seconds. Comparing a mustang to a vette is apples to oranges, even the Cobra...
Plus Vettes are long legged freaks from 60mph to 160+. I would know, I got a ticket for it.
Of course its apples to oranges, they are in two different classes. The mustang is a muscle/pony car and the Corvette is a sports car (two seater). Compare the Corvette to a Ford GT, thats apples to apples.
I have an 05 ls2 c6. Had it going a 180 and was just waiting for a cop to pop over the hill... I've have raced lots of mustangs including a stage 3 rouch and a gt 500 and smoked them both. Vettes go toe-to-toe with ferrari and lambo's. Muts need to stick to camaros.(which still dominate)
The C6 is definately the best bang for the buck genuine sports car. They can be had for less than $25k nowadays and they own just about 99% of cars you see on the road. About the ticket, I still have to go to court for it. I already know it's not going to be cheap though...The way I see it is "You've got to pay to play" so it doesn't bother me as much as it should.
Oh really? A stock cobra runs a 4.5sec 0-60 and the Vette does it in 4 seconds flat. The quarter mile times are about the same in the high 12s but on a autocross track the 'regular' C6 vette would walk easily on the cobra. The stock C6 can top out at about 190 mph and stay at that speed easily. The Mustang cobra maybe 155 stock? I'd be a little worried going that fast in a car that's based off a 79' design. (on a racetrack of course)

I have an 05 ls2 c6. Had it going a 180 and was just waiting for a cop to pop over the hill... I've have raced lots of mustangs including a stage 3 rouch and a gt 500 and smoked them both. Vettes go toe-to-toe with ferrari and lambo's. Muts need to stick to camaros.(which still dominate)

The C6 is definately the best bang for the buck genuine sports car. They can be had for less than $25k nowadays and they own just about 99% of cars you see on the road. About the ticket, I still have to go to court for it. I already know it's not going to be cheap though...The way I see it is "You've got to pay to play" so it doesn't bother me as much as it should.

Oh really? A stock cobra runs a 4.5sec 0-60 and the Vette does it in 4 seconds flat. The quarter mile times are about the same in the high 12s but on a autocross track the 'regular' C6 vette would walk easily on the cobra. The stock C6 can top out at about 190 mph and stay at that speed easily. The Mustang cobra maybe 155 stock? I'd be a little worried going that fast in a car that's based off a 79' design. (on a racetrack of course)
