It's really rude to bash someone, especially because this type of makeup is REQUIRED for competitive cheer(as well as other hobbies/sports such as competitive/non competitive dance, theater, etc.)

The bright lights on stage wash out your face and facial features, so heavy makeup(to accentuate your features) is used to off-set the affects of the lights a little.

@jennabug50 just such a ridiculous thing to say. i've done cheer and gym and i can safely say i feel a lot more covered up in cheer uniforms than a leotard. in cheer you wear shorts, and long sleeved tops, often log tops that cover your stomach, therefore they're more covered up than leoards where your hole bum is basically out haha

@GiseimiJDx3 As a coach here's some advice.use your flexibility to work on all three splits,scorpians, bow and arrows etc..work on basic tumbeling, cartwheels, roundoff's, genie's walk overs. find an instructional vid, even on here and learn a cheer or two, work on the proper form, moves,etc. Best thing, if you can afford it, take lessons, alot of all star gyms offer supplement classes for girls who want to improve their skills, but aren't on an all star team...good luck :)

Good luck, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask...OH..another good thing, ask permission of your schools varsity coach to sit in and watch some practices..some are hard core and won't allow it, other's are not so strict...:)

@TheLolz654 For toe touches to get better it takes practice and sometimes(for me) lots of stretching(: I'm also in 8th grade and I've been cheering for 4 years, took 2 off and I had to rework my toe touches. They were really bad..My instructors say to roll your hips forward because it brings your legs higher. Also remember to point your toes. For comp they wont judge on the height of your jumps but if you point your toes. Watch your form. So stretch a lot and practice.

@TheLolz654 do a bunch of strattlr sits and build the leg muscles up so when u bring ur legs down from the toe-touch, it wips down and looks really pretty. but sit in a strattle everynight and build them legs up with a lot of muscle =]

I LOVE it...yhu can get on your school team with a cartwheel and round off but Allstar Cheer and Gymnastics will teach you much more i Have my Back Hand Sprin,Tuck,Layout & i got my Full 2 Days ago ! =) but Good luck on Tryouts !

I joined my school squad this year, didn't have to audition or anything and I couldn't do much flexability wise but after just a few weeks of practising and trying my best, I can now lift my leg high and almost do splits! And I'm 15!
