  • mick your makeup looks just as bad at night as it does during the day!

  • thanks for posting we need more!

  • 4:13 he looks at jagger with such disgust

  • jefferson airplane>rolling stones

  • No one was handling the drugs....

  • Scarlett Johanson at 4:22

  • A complete disaster. I remember reading about this concert in an old rolling stone magazine some time ago and that there were other bike gangs there too, some from other parts of the country. Also, there was some bad acid going around giving people some bad trips. If any one out there was at the concert I would like to what other bands played besides jefferson airplane and the stones.

  • @16penney I wasn't there, but the bands that played were: The Flying Burrito Brothers; Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young; and Santana. The Dead were supposed to play, but they backed out when they heard about all the violence.

  • Meredith Hunter should have shot Mick Jagger's faggot ass.

  • @swampyD1000 fuck you your bastard gay!!!!!!

  • @MrAlvarosantiagoferr Are you dying to queer off with mick? LOL! Oh yeah, you need to learn proper grammar and spelling too, fag.

  • What a brilliant idea....hire a bunch of primitive thugs as "security."

Then again, I'm not defending that black asshole who showed up in a bright green suit packin' a gun. I guess somebody needed to take care of the problem.

  • larga vida a los hell angels.

  • What is the name of this song ?.

  • @kikin760712 Symapthy For The Devil

  • @kikin760712 sympothy for the devil

  • i was 1years old and at this show, crazy hippie parents

  • Aquí 6:58 le piden a Jagger que pare una pelea y se hace el weon

  • SSTOOOONNNED!!! \m/

  • English man can kick that shit

  • That was the only time when the Stones did really sound hard and heavy and mean. Not before and not after.

  • and thats why these versions are their best... got a bit of bon scott feel to it

  • That stoned dog walking across the stage at 3:56 stole the show. Where the fuck did that dog come from? The poor thing was probably deaf after that.

  • Great RAW version .................

  • Thanks for uploading this.

The Stones weren't just some unknown club band by 1969-it boggles the mind that the stage was built too low, there are no barriers between the performers and that audience-and above all it defies reason that they would hire thugs like the Hells Angels as 'security'. Wtf?

  • They worked FREE for beer! They also saved Mick's life.

  • The Best hells angel

    Ia a DEAD hells angel

  • The Grateful Dead told Mick that they were the best bet. They were going to show up anyway! Just a bad night, man. Don't carry a gun to a concert! Apparently it wasn't even loaded. He was only 18. The Stones were naive about how violent America really is. They learned thier lesson. They barely got out of there themselves! 4 people died that day/night.

  • 0:52...she looks like she knows

  • @me5g435rg it hadnt even happened yet at this point. it was the next song, under my thumb where meredith hunter was stabbed. however, it looks like that last guy might have been stabbed as well. the scary part is, meredith (if he WAS gunning from mick) gets to within 2 ros from the stage at the early part of under my thumb, you can see him right in front of the stage.

  • thanks for the info .....that would of been some crazy shit if he had killed mick

  • just knows lol

  • you know nothing

  • Who is playing the solo running between 06:25 and 07:50? Mick Taylor or Keith Richards?

  • Keith Richards. Taylor wouldnt play a solo that average

  • I believe Meredith Hunter was knife to death not shot.

  • my goodness I was a teenager at that time I remeber very well - I was in Austria and I heared about this concert in january 1970

  • i would pay to know what is the hell angel guy thinking at 4:15 lol

  • He was actually interviewed on VH1 some years back. He said something like he wasn't used to seeing men act like Mick Jagger.

  • why mick is acting like a drogadict?

    sorry for my english

  • Cuz he was then-perhaps heroin and/or

    acid...who knows.

Amazingly he and Keith Richards are still alive-amazing isn't it!

    Long live RockNRoll!

  • probably a cocktail of cocaine heroin acid and booze. seems the Angels were probably on a lot of speed that day.

  • @smackythefrog23 It doesent matter, most are antisocial personalities at least, and probable phsycopathic at best....

  • They all seemed to do drugs in those days. I think that entire audience was stoned-even the doggie that strolled across the stage.

  • I am over 50 and I remeber very well to this cocert at the end of the 60ies

    - I am from Austria

  • I wonder what happened to the near naked and messed up chick the Angels drag out of the crowd at 6.09? Fuck being on acid amongst that hairy mob!!!

  • Mick Jagger hired the Hells Angels to guard his ass because of a shitty stage set up. The crowd got mad when he came on stage 2 hours late. The Angels were just protecting their bikes. The guy got killed because he had a gun. He was going to kill Mick Jagger. Look up Sony Barger on line and read his books about the concert. Mick is damn lucky the Angels were there or he would have gotten shot.

  • Totally agree, plus this was a FREE concert and a free for all. The Hell's

Angels did indeed save his ass. After

that there weren't many 'free concerts!'

  • regardless - it was real - and sort of necessary to be there

  • I have strong suspicions that the CIA was somehow behind the violence at Altamont. It would be so easy to infiltrate or even sponsor groups like the Hell's Angels.

Some of the Angels in this clip look to me more like CIA/military intelligence types- agent provocateurs- with an agenda to tarnish the image of young people and in general the peace movement.

The Manson murders earlier that year had the same effect of demonizing young people, who made up the crux of the antiwar movement.

  • see my comments about MKULTRA and LSD testing. I think Woodstock was the Control Group, given a regimented guided experience, and Altamont was the Randomized sample, let to do its own to compare the results for nefarious purposes

  • jajaja lo dices por lo de 1969?? jajaja

  • How ironic the assasin who was gunning

for Mick was killed during this song. This

was one of the last free concerts then.

  • I did nit know that.Mick had to play peackeeper at altamont it seems.I love when he goes everbody cool out.

  • @BobReidy I always found it funny at 7:15 when the girl smoking the cigarette turns around and is face to face with Jagger who is standing at the edge of the stage looking at the chaos in the crowd. She looks like a kid fooling around in a classroom, and who does not realize the teacher is standing right there

  • Hahahah.Thats funny.

  • he was stabbed

  • Yes he was stabbed....to death.

  • yeah i know... you wrote that he was shot

  • whooops

    my mistake

  • There was never any proof Meredith Hunter was 'gunning' for Mick. On film it looks like he fought with the Hells Angels and he pulled out his piece. His girlfriend later said he was defending himself because the Angels kept harassing him-and his white girlfriend. But guess we'll never know for sure.

  • The bottom line, Woodstock had been such a great success that they thought they could do something similar on the West Coast. Unfortunately they used security that was just as high as everyone else, fights are bound to happen. It ended badly, and they no one ever tried to do anything like this again. Such a shame.

  • to my knowledge, woodstock was 100% self policed. my personal thoughts on the matter, if you watch the film, the organizers on site (managers, promoters) meet onstage and say that they are just going to let what ever happens, happen. Like an expirament. MKULTRA was testing LSD pretty heavily at this point, and perhaps Woodstock was the Control Group, and Altamont was the Random Sample

  • 3.57 Dog quietly wanders across the front of the stage class !!

  • wow really cool footage of rock n roll history in the making.

  • Mick Jagger rocks still......... he was the hippy that the grateful dead got.... bull shit

  • so thats how it went down..

  • that guy at 7:14...that's crazy. he and jagger were having a moment of understanding it looks like.

  • Mick doesn't look like he understands imo. That Angel interfered in the performance-to me Jagger looks like 'wtf'? Then he carries on like the pro he is.

  • Aquello fue una sobrada, pero los Stones no tuvieron ninguna culpa. Los estúpidos fueron los locos de los Hell´s Angels

  • there has to be other footage and pictures somewhere of the angle beating people up and fights at this concert frome other cameras, home movies ect.from other people that is rarly seen and is not in the movie does anybody know where it is?

  • I believe its shown in the documentary film 'Gimme Shelter'. After this concert Mick Jagger renounced occultism and cut his ties with that crowd in San Francisco.

  • It is.
