Good car a volvo and ive driven an 850r. best car ever built? i dont think so. lets face it, it ant the best looking motor in the world. i know its a good car but i coulnd see myself making excuses to go out and drive it. The consul though, i wouldnt be sitting here now,i would be driving it.
*The Zephyr*The Consuls up market sister and the Zodaics Downmarkt.Together known as the three graces.These are my favourite out of all cars in the world(Even ferrari).Your crazy mate you just said but look how old they are and how well they go.I mean standed from a stationary start 12 second for a quater mile. Now thats fast for a car thats half a centuary old and compleaty original.You can see now why they raced them.Look them up!Did i mention im 14.Old Ford`s never die, they just go faster:)
The Consuls were the most basic with drums all round and shorter nose, next was the Zephyr with a "one piece" grille and finally was the top model, the Zodiac with Disks & extra chrome + split grille.
yeah, ran 11s at york last summer and destroyed the b&m holeshot convertor now got a jw 3800 stall , engine should be good for high tens but rest of drivetrain will need upgrading (9inch rear th400 with transbrake etc). only running th350 and volvo back end with truetrac, but no more racing keeping just for the road now (can't afford to break it anymore!
yeh man, it's a 1959 ford consul with a tuned 5.7 litre chevy it will run into the 11s on a good day... there are more of it on you tube just check consul in cars and vehicles

LOL, this car aint all stock, it has a chevy v8, the original Consul made 0-60 mph in 36 seconds...

been timed at 0-100 mph in 8.2 sec
(m5 is around 11-12 sec)
put it this way, it's only 2 anna bit seconds slower to 100 mph that a bugatti veyron!
