  • I'd rather see Bill's actual performance than this lame-ass cheap video. Any teenager could make this cheap-ass video!

  • Yall know he was offered Han Solo right?

  • Love the song!!!!

  • love it

  • what would be today's equivalent? zach galifinakis singing about avatar?

  • @scwt89 Today's equivalent would be the same thing as this. Star Wars is forever.

  • @scwt89 That comment made my night :)

  • This would be funny if we could see Bill Murray's performance. This skit came out around the time the movie came out. Everyone in the country knew of it but no one knew the effect it would have on the culture of the planet. With that in mind, it's Murray's comical timing and expressionsits what makes his skit funny. All you did was steal someone else's work, did an edit job my 10-year old could have done much better (w/ After Effects (purchased, not stolen)), and ruin the affects of each.

  • Staaar Waaahhhaaarrws

  • Remember how perfect youtube was 4 long years ago in a galaxy far far away...but somehow in the future

  • I have no idea why I can't stop watching this.

  • NBC would rather have no one see it than have someone see it without their control. They're working from a flawed business model. They don't realize the incredible advertising potential of YouTube. Imagine, they can expose their entire back catalog to a new generation of viewers and THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY ONE CENT FOR THE EXPOSURE! Intelligent companies realize this for the free advertising it is and they could ask for better advertising fees for their network because of the increased exposure.

  • Looks like they did actually bar wars... :-/

  • 30+ years later this still cracks me up!

  • wich season was it?

  • Why can't I live in 1978 forever when everybody just had a good time, or so it seemed...

  • jeff zucker is sort of a dick...

  • SNL used to kick ass. Seems like the show went down hill after Will Ferrel left.

  • This is a prime example of actual talent, unlike the new SNL.

  • @TheresPooOnMyShoe got that right. It's painful and I just don't see how anyone thinks it's funny. They need to finally put a stake in that show.

  • I'd eat princess Leya's salad.

  • I remember watching SNL when it first started. I was only in grade school, but even then knew great comedy. I miss the classics. Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Akroyd....et cetera...

  • This makes me proud to be born on September 21.

  • We should freeze Bill Murray in Carbonite for future use.

  • @FilmSpartan hehehe

  • This was originally sung by Steave Martin on SNL. Did you ever head the King Tut song?

  • @DarthXasthur ...Thats funny, because I distinctively remember Bill Murray portraying the lounge singer singing this in a SNL skit....I never saw Steve Martin do it though. I think you may be wrong

  • der war doch besoffen...!

  • bill murray is f***in hilarious and i love him but hate those fukinNBC who dey tink dey is banning SNL (go to hell) but good job bill

  • those near and faaarrr waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrs

  • Star Wars is amazing!

  • @NerdsInTheBasement Yeah. You're right about that! The Prequel Trilogy left a little to be desired though.

  • 2 of my favorite things finally come together: Star Wars and the total awesomeness of Bill Fucking Murray

  • Classic. Bill Murray did a great job singing this song to the music

  • Bill Murray is my idol. have loved him since i was a KID. :)

  • too bad he died...

    in zomieland

  • i know :( but he def made it worth watching !

  • BILL MURRAY IS STILL ALIVE!

  • @STANGMAN1997 Says YOU!

  • You're a complete idiot....he's not dead, dummy

  • @SynfulandMrVoice Your an idiot. Read the whole comment, I said IN ZOMBIELAND

  • @SynfulandMrVoice Actually. He died in Zombieland. Maybe that's what that guy was thinking of. (but I don't think YOU'RE an idiot!)

  • CLASSIC! So glad someone has that.

  • The best SNL line-up ever, 1975 1979.

  • Yup. Even though I was born in '71, I had hip parents that let me stay up & watch it.

  • Yes, and now SNL can't suck enough! It just keeps getting worse and worse, except for Kristen Wiig...she's cool.

  • @jerrywitaj of course they are greedy corporate nazi fucks--just look what they are doing to conan!

  • I had to sign in to thumb this up.

  • @jerrywitaj yeah, they didn't let other news stations show coverage of the Winter Olympics this year. Like anyone wanted to see the Winter Olympics! SNL isn't funny anymore. So fuck NBC!

  • @CounsilHan yeh no one watches the olympics.

  • @jerrywitaj buy the DVD, they never intended SNL to be free.

  • @jerrywitaj yeah but theyre still not as bad as wmg, i fuking hate warner music group or whatever thayre called

  • @jerrywitaj Yes. They are all a bunch of assholes. Anyone who would let Conan O'Brien get away is fucked up.

  • @jerrywitaj i totally agree. this sucks!!!!

  • @jerrywitaj make a facebook group or better yet, blog about it! Shut the fuck up. It's their show, they can do what they want with it.

  • @jerrywitaj I know! Imagine someone that doesn't want to give away their work for free! The nerve! Because I'm sure that if you ever didn't get paid for work you did you'd be fine with it, because you're not a greedy effer!

  • @jerrywitaj go to Hulu plus they seem to have every episode of SNL uncut

  • Bill Murray also sang: "Close En-Coun-Ters Theme" using the famous five notes played by the UFO.

  • This was classic just like Nick The Lounge singer's Close Encounters song...

  • man bill murray is a classic! aka Dr. Venkman.

  • is that the voice of GOD?! Sure sounds like it

  • Yes!!! Yes it is...He's coming for all of us!!! Take me Bill. LOL!!

  • gez.. how long ago was this?

  • It was a long time ago, in a SNL skit far far away.

  • @BishopAdamair roflmao lmfao rofl cuptur

  • SNL, '77 - '78 season

  • Why couldn't George Lucas put this song in the actual Star Wars movie?

  • The lyrics were made-up, by none other than, perhaps, Mr. Murray himself...

  • You don't sound too sure of yourself there, lol

  • ahahha great

  • LOL!

as funny as the HOliday special!

  • wow this is so weird I can't tell if he likes Star Wars or not I don't think he does

  • you can't possibly be serious

  • I think he does, but obviously Mr. Lucas has been listening because he keeps bringing us Star Wars!

  • lol haha

  • LMAO!

  • I'm Sailing! I'm a sailor...because I sail, get it? Actually I just let the boat do most of the work."

  • I eat people

  • i eat your mother

  • "my seventh winter up here!" fuckin great!

  • "I'm Sailing!"

  • WTF?!

  • is the actually SNL video on youtube somewhere?

  • simply beautiful

  • This was fantastic! For years whenever I heard the Star Wars theme, I would sing along with Bill Murray's rendition. My 15 & 9 yr old children would roll thier eyes and say, "Mom... Would you stop! There aren't any words to that song." I'd sing louder and say, "Oh yes there are!"

  • haha, cool...

  • Bill Murray rocks. There's talk about a Ghostbusters 3, and I read online that Bill Murray will probably be in it.

  • Sure. About as likely as Back to the Future 4. Maybe they could call it "Ghostbusters: The Geriatric Years", and they'd only chase after the really slow ghosts.

  • yeah they are but cgi only

  • Bill Murray is a genius! He was hysterical in Caddyshack!

  • "it's in hole!"

  • i love this song

  • Pure Genius.

  • This Lounge singer skit was amazing, it should have its own DVD.

  • bill murray the type of person that makes people laugh lol P.S. i am is biggest fan

  • Totally Genius!!!

"...my 7th winter up here" LOL

  • lol i love bill murray
