I understand where you are coming from and what you are saying, but it in no way means and nor does ZJ's video imply that he has stopped giving donations to charitable organisations. He has simply decided not to give to an organisation that has a political and religious agenda. I give freely to Medicins Sans Frontier and Amnesty International. Both of these charities perform incredible work without religious bias.
@Hope2009pc I know that you’re trolling, but I feel the need to respond. People can do many different things to help out others. You can volunteer your time in the center itself doing different jobs. When I was younger I would go collect canned food to donate. Even now, although I’m not physically active in the center itself, I still am one of the ones giving canned food.

I rather wish we had a secular care centre in our town, the salvation army is (distressingly) the only shelter for the homeless, and it has become the only soup kitchen left in the town as well. I'm envious of your cities active stance on homelessness, I rather wish more places would allocate their resources to worthy causes such as that.

This is amazing! this young girl still in High school and making the choice not to give to a bigoted religious group like the Salvation Army. Giving to a local charity is far better than giving to bigots.

@dillinger9999 I don't like how you praise her more than anyone else for being young. The fact that anyone would do this is sadly amazing, I say sadly as it is not something that is normal. Being wise with donations is not something most people do if they do even donate. I do not think age should have to do with anything here. Why should her parents be pround anyway? Pride implys that YOU have accomplished something therefore it is only ever right to be proud of your own actions.

@Sortsitar I think the fundamental problem with Atheist is they don't see how hateful they are perceived. I noticed Atheist mainly attack Christians..if they were to ramp up against Muslims and Jews they would be labled islamaphobic and anti-semitic. I've noticed Atheist tend to middle/upper-middle class white people who probably have cushy lives. despite how you guys feel about religion I know when I lived in poor neighborhood the church kept people off the streets and out of gangs

Someone may use the religion as an excuse to do something bad, i think even if they weren't religious they would find some other excuse, but if you want to generalize an influence..i would say that capitalism(or just an economy regardless of the economic theories) is bigger creator of "bad" than religion. Naill Ferguson wrotte a book called the "Ascent of Money" and in it he showed the Crusades had more to do about money than spreading Christianity

@ubermisogynist you are right about that! it has always been about money. even Carl Sagan's book "demon haunted world" talks about how the church grabbed up huge amounts of wealth when they convicted and burned people alive for being witches. & that's not opinion it's all fact and recorded in court documents. nice to see someone has something on the ball in these channels. the ruling classes of those days used Christianity to invade & colonize other countries & conquer their peoples.

@Sortsitar to be honest i think atheist on average are more hateful than religious people. either you people have only met the Terry Jones or Pat Robertsons but most religious people aren't what you think. I'm agnostic but pretty much all my friends,family and co-workers are religious and they don't hate gays and really don't care what others believe. Funny thing is im the one who is against gay propaganda and feminsim.They donate to charities, i don't because i don't care.

I understand where you are coming from and what you are saying, but it in no way means and nor does ZJ's video imply that he has stopped giving donations to charitable organisations. He has simply decided not to give to an organisation that has a political and religious agenda. I give freely to Medicins Sans Frontier and Amnesty International. Both of these charities perform incredible work without religious bias.

@Hope2009pc I know that you’re trolling, but I feel the need to respond. People can do many different things to help out others. You can volunteer your time in the center itself doing different jobs. When I was younger I would go collect canned food to donate. Even now, although I’m not physically active in the center itself, I still am one of the ones giving canned food.
I know that you just want attention, but this was so blatantly dim that I had to respond.

Good girl. The Salvation Army wouldnt even have homeless shelters if we werent giving them the rescources to create these shelters. If we defer or resources to a different charity, we can end this status quo and before you know it some other charity will become sucsesful and will recieve governemnt subsidies aswell

I rather wish we had a secular care centre in our town, the salvation army is (distressingly) the only shelter for the homeless, and it has become the only soup kitchen left in the town as well. I'm envious of your cities active stance on homelessness, I rather wish more places would allocate their resources to worthy causes such as that.
