  • Would it surprise you that I'm a Finn, and my ancestors came from Ireland?

  • What's this "British Isles" nonsense used by your man in the text underneath this video? Spare us all the offensive jingoistic British colonial terminology for Ireland and the Irish people. Thank you.

  • I love reading the comments under videos, it brings out all the nutters and the sadly misinformed. Keep it up and keep off the medication, guys!

  • The Donegal Irish spelling is Siubhan or sometimes Siun but not Siobhan.

  • I love this number called;

    "Siobhan Ni Dhuibhir".....

D'eirigh me ar maidin a tharraingt 'un aonaigh mhoir,

A dhiol is a cheannacht mar dheanfadh mo dhaoine romham;............. plus I have the LP, thanks for sharing....regards

  • Tá grá Clannad agam!

  • It sounds almost Jamaican!

  • Would it surprise you to know that many Irish were 'shipped' to Jamaica by the British Crown... Many Jamaicans can rightfully claim Irish ancestry.

  • I did not know that! And so this Jamaican-Irishmen visited their family in Ireland and teached them the rythms!

  • Consider that the rhythms might be an inheritance from both their African and Irish ancestors. :D)

  • It's 'taught', not 'teached'. It's an irregular verb.

  • @kealyc Maybe the guy's first language isn't english, right?

  • @kealyc , what a wasteod space

  • The members of Clannad definitiely look African. You can see that !

  • @kealyc african? how did you come to that conclusion?

  • @kealyc African? Where did that come from? They are Irish

  • Awesome! Clannad's early recordings are amazing!

  • I have almost every Clannad album. Each one has some gems on it.

  • this is a band that has a very large pagan following I love this band

  • Relativity has a better version of it

  • Agreed, though I believe Relativity's is called Sin Ni Dhuibir, and is in Gaidhlig, this is Gaeilge.

  • I think in Donegal they say "Gaeilig" not "Gaeilge".

  • Yes, I believe you're right. I'm just using Gaeilge in reference to Irish and Gaidhlig in reference to Scottish Gaelic.

  • Thanks :) Although my family always says "Gaeilic"...

    Happy New Year!

  • Happy New Year. =)

  • @Stoirmeacha... Relativity sing it in Donegal Gaelic too!

  • Níl.

  • Maith thu Mike, a lovely song. Thanks for posting.
