yeah those sounds are terrible i assume its to try and make minecraft feel like more of a RPG but i bet within a day of the update there will be a mod for the old sounds

i hate the damage sound it sounds unrealistic even though notch and jeb tried to make things more realistic but when we hurt our selves we dong go *thud* or *sqeek* we go ow or ouch!

i think i may be the first to say this, but i hope not, i actually like all the new sounds. theyre so much less annoying. hearing OOH 10 times before you drown or whatever got on my nerves. New sounds FTW

Well the bow sucks,so do the doors and the eating sounds,and the damage sounds,and almost everything.The exp sounds cool and the explosions.Also the teleportation of the enderman sounds nice,but not the sounds he makes when taking damage.
