I understand why you would scrap the tail rotor motor and esc...but why do you need a new gyro and main motor esc?

You need a new Gyro and ESC because the 3 in 1 will not work with a tail servo (as far as I know). Still use the original RX side of the 3 in 1

Using stock motor, stock TX and RX (took the ESC/gyro part of the 4 in 1 off, just unplugs)

Using a 1300mah 3 cell pack (original batteries fly but not for very long)

Telebee gyro, HS-56 tail servo and 22amp brushed motor controller

The motored tail has been replaced with a belt drive system

Your Axe is working real good with that tail. You sure are comfortable flying nose-in and circles, too.
