Totally agree. Love how they're doing such a varied set with all those grinding wailers. Ambitious and shows all those skeptics what Cornell can still do.
@kyussdemon1 Nirvana? Aaaagh. Hate people giving them props without mentioning Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees (YES! Mark Lanegan and Barrett Martin are all kinds of win!) , Heart, Alice in Chains, and Jimi Hendrix. Oh, and Nirvana weren't even techically from Seattle. Look it up. And greatest......I don't know. Louder Than Love was hit and miss for me. They didn't really become the amazing band everyone remembers until the 90s. Granted, they still made a lot of good songs back in the 80s too
@kyussdemon1 I will admit to Soundgarden being the most all around talented band from Seattle, but Pearl Jam got me out of today's generic crap into good music like Soundgarden, and will always have a special place in my heart. Granted, I wish Soundgarden made as many albums as Pearl Jam so I could more properly compare them. PLEASE MAKE A NEW ALBUM SOUNDGARDEN! Also, I just relate more with Eddie Vedder. I will agree that I will always prefer Soundgarden to Nirvana though.
@MetroidFan621 I don't know how many albums Pearl Jam has, but Soundgarden does have 6 albums out. And I totally agree, a new album is absolutely needed. Honestly, I'll be pretty pissed if we don't get a new one, or at the very least a cd of rare/unreleased stuff.
@PosFlow Agreed. I honestly have no idea why they haven't released a rarities album. I've listened through some of them, and would gladly pay for an album full of them. Still, they NEED to make a new album. There just aren't enough good rock albums out nowadays. A couple a year it seems, but the all-time greats just aren't coming. Soundgarden might be able to help put good rock back on the maps.
Memories and Tingles! I saw this band So many times way in the day, and they still are kings. Saw them in 88 at a park in Olympia where Chris stood on a picnic table for the whole small set. But, my fav bragging right was in 90 at the off ramp tavern. 4 band show. Sweet Water,Mookey Blaylock( first show post mother love bone, first show with Vedder, soon to be called Pearl Jam), Alice in Chains, Soundgarden to cap it off! How fuckin' lucky am I?
A lot of the kids probably don't remember Soundgarden, Let alone an oldschool "pre-fame" song like Gun. If they do know them, they don't know about getting their vinyl records back in the day at the underground 'record store.' Back before some doofus hipster created the word 'grunge'. Laptops at a Soundgarden show. Wow.
Thanks for sharing! Hearing about this reunion made me very happy! Hope to see them continue touring, maybe even a tour with AiC? Can we be that lucky?
GREAT effin show.. amazing. It sucks that they had to go up against Arcade Fire, who I also wanted to see.. but I'm glad I picked Soundgarden. Epic show. Loved Chris going out into the crowd during Outshined.
The pit where I was at (left to the stage against the barricade in front of the stage) was NUTS when this song dropped! All those reviewers who say that Soundgarden didn't supply enough energy for the crowd obviously were watching Arcade Faggots during this song. Incredible performance, and this angle doesn't really do the crowd justice.
I had a clue. My voice was hoarse from singing along and screaming the whole show. They were incredible. Anyone who said they were rusty they weren't at the same show I was.
matt cameron must be the reincarnation of john bonham!
