  • siete coglioni

  • Did anybody else find that really boring?

  • Why would you brush your teeth while on the phone? Rude.

  • Did you notice when she was at the end screaming and saying help or whatever that she no longer had that horrible fake accent??

  • anyone else notice she has a staff from the Lord of the Rings in her living room?

  • Well that's pretty much garunteed me not turning out the lights

  • Regarding the arguments below, The Perm is right. This had nothing to do with the Cthulhu Mythos, and even if Lovecraft had a personal religious view... it wasn't THAT. The video is easily the worst in Fewdio's library, mostly because of the inconsistencies with the idea of Lovecraft's literary archetype... which MIGHT've worked if you changed the conversation from heaven-and-hell to Cosmic Philosophy... but it still would've been a bit tacky with the whole tentacle doll, or whatever...

  • I wish she would spit and stop talking with all that toothpaste slob in her mouth...

  • Flacid, dull, self-indulgent, and the cute little jab at atheists induces an eye roll. Not really sure what it has to do with Lovecraft either. I hate to be a dick about it, but this is the weakest movie featured on the channel. Ah well, they can't all be winners.

  • BEST PART WAS GANDALF'S STAFF IN THE CORNER OMGWTFBBQ

  • who the hell brushest there teeth while talkling on the phone...

  • I love these....Like umm....Live action creepy pastas!

  • @ThePerm In this manner, I like where our world is heading to. More decent and wise technology middlemen provide better platform for wiser audience and producers, and as a result the demand for cleverer production gets a change to flourish in a witter stuff.

  • @PythonandFelidae I absolutely agree with you but with that also comes greater industry and with that greater mainstream bloat. The more it continues the more people will be exposed to trash and the more eclectic taste will become mandatory to maintain one's own viewing/listening integrity. There's a solid trade-between in there somewhere, though personally I'm unsure of the whole issue, it's a big discussion that the cultural thinkers are barely having.

  • I'm ashamed to recognize gandalf's staff in the corner of her room.

  • White Zombie on the TV... yes

  • So, she quotes Lovecraft's personal philosophy... and then gets eaten alive by a tentacle monster? Seems rather disconnected to me.

  • I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going.

  • @qwertyep14 If that was a Facebook status, I would 'like' it.

  • Is that Cthulu by the lamp at 4:12-4:16

  • @kyanwan Yes

  • @kyanwan that's I'm sayin, I think Cthulhu killed her

  • ... why is there a tentacle monster under her bed? If only she were japanese, the ending would turn out much better :D

  • pretty bad volume control, the more it went on, the more i had to turn up the volume. the ending was neat though.

  • Shoggoths can be such a nuisance

  • I can't decide whether I like this video or not. It wasn't scary, but incredibly ironic, which made it enjoyable -- but not what I expected. Maybe I would like it more if I'd read H.P. Lovecraft. Now I'm putting him on my To-Read list.

  • Oh man I love this tribute to H.P man.

  • This ended up like tentacle porn.

  • huh interesting. that chick is a really good actress too

  • FEWDIO has a major problem. "Show, don't tell" is a rule in modern cinema for a reason. Video is above all else a visual medium. However with their attempts at atmospheric horror they tend to show TOO much. I think this video is the first I've seen where they've gotten it right. Build and build, then leave the monster to our imagination. I can promise that FEWDIO's audience is better at imagining monsters than they are at putting them together on a low budget. Good job on this one.

  • @ryle4h Have you read any work by H.P. Lovecraft?

  • OH NO!

  • ive always loved that quote by H.P.

  • Use the staff, use the staff, dear lord, USE THE STAFF! D:

  • Lol 1:57 guy on tv is totally checking out her ass

  • the fact that she says "yeah im like totally serious" does make me doubt myself though.. ._.

  • why are you blokes all saying she has a bad accent ._.

honestly, there are hundreds of different british accents! So a londoner is going to tell someone that speaks cockney that his english is crap? See if she came from london, that would be a crappy accent =P Get it right mates haha

  • not only is this bad, she has the worst british accent i've ever heard.

  • @hugorochimaru lol she's British. So much for that critique.

  • She has the staff of Gandolf the White. Why is she not using it?!?

  • @hoveringsombrero818 YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

  • this one was pretty horrible

  • H.P LOVECRAFT IS ROLLING IN HIS GRAVE.

  • DAMN IT, WOMAN! What part of Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn did you not understand!?

  • cthulu, devourer of the non-believers

  • Those bits during the credits... Haven't slept in a few days because of that.

  • Hey Fewdio, I just wanted to say I appreciate your videos and they really are a refreshing step in the right direction. You know what works and what doesn't work. Modern horror is occasionally good, but they rely too much on CGI and editing. Back when that technology was primitive, it was a lot of work to pull off a realistic monster. Makeup and even animatronics look marginally more realistic than CGI. You guys are awesome and keep up the great work!

  • ALL HAIL CTHULU!

  • 2:02...She should of used Gandalf's Staff to fight that thing off!!!

  • Tentacle Rape?

  • Maybe I'm understanding this the wrong way, but I don't see her cry of "God, help me!" as a cry out for a deity she doesn't believe in. Earlier, she stated two or three times that when it came time for her life to end, she'd be okay with it. Nothing could be better than oblivion. She wouldn't fight it, she wouldn't care. But now, as she's being killed by something she never believed in before (God doesn't even play into this picture) she realizes she DOES want to live.

  • Cthulu wasnt about fuckin gore, its about atmosphere of realizing your reality could disapere, read the god damn story.

  • Prue genius not getting all of cthulu on camera or what thing creature was, but to the point you left room for the viewers imagination.

  • Sooooooooooo, Cthulu... I believe that there's nothing in the dark but me. Unless I'm completely alone and there's no one to tether me to reality. It was pretty good, but not nearly as good as Smoke, the Poe tribute.

  • @Fewdiodotcom

could you possibly explain this one for me? what were the philosophical views of H.P. Lovecraft? and why did Cthulu attack her? and shouldn't he still be asleep? if not, then isn't the rest of the world fucked, not just her? i know not all your videos have to make sense, but this one just seems to scream for story to back it up more. it wasn't much horror, so really all this has is story and that seems to be lacking from this video also

  • I really don't care about the atheist/anti-atheist message...I just want to know where you got that Cthulu? My parents have a stuffed Cthulu at the house along with a CD of Lovecraftian Holiday Carols. I sort of liked the modern take on the idea of the monster.

  • So There Are Monsters ;o Anyone Wana Check My Bed For Monsters ;)

  • God, some of you atheists are so easily offended. I'm an atheist and I don't get the feeling that this was anymore a serious attack on atheism than many of his vids are serious attacks on people who don't believe in monsters.

  • I love H.P. Lovecraft.

  • when i saw this i thought: ZALGO

  • Heh, that's right Atheists. Not going to be so atheist when you get attacked by a monster that lives under your bed *smug*.

Not one of your better videos.

  • HA, i think the addition of the "God help me" while she's screaming was the cherry on top. especially since she made that comment about changing her mind blah blah.

  • pro-cthulu video?

  • @TwistedComplex

    That is spot on.

  • who stilll uses that dinosare of a cellphone

  • GOD DAMMIT

i was supposed to get my sleep back on schedule tonight, thanks a lot.

  • I've liked some of your other vids but this one doesn't really hit the mark, purely because of the influence.

Cosmicism was merely Lovecraft's literary tool of choice, it wasn't a "personal religious philosophy" to any degree, nor should it be. And a noodley appendage does not a Lovecraftian film make, cosmicism was metaphysical and psychological but here you've used every typical device in the book, interspersed gore, rising crescendo music, mindless slaughter.

Sorry but this one's just dull.

  • @ThePerm - I disagree that it's dull, but I do agree that it has absolutely nothing to do with H.P. Lovecraft, other than possibly being inspired by his work.

  • @ThePerm you're 99% wrong btw. Cosmicism was his created mythos. That part you got right. But her monologue was taken directly from a personal quote of his about not needing the "carrot" of Heaven at the end of the string of life. Oblivion, Lovecraft wrote, was Heaven enough for him. And that, WAS his personal philosophy.

  • @DaywaltFearFactory Right, so a lame dialogue reference espouses his entire belief system. Sorry but if you think anything in this video actually relates back to Lovecraft himself and not simply junky style, forced allegory based vaguely upon a poor understanding of his fiction then you weren't paying attention when you read him. To try to speak so unashamedly direct of Lovecraft the person but to so misrepresent every aspect of his fiction really can only condemn the former action, no?

  • @ThePerm come at me with some facts & a little less emotion and I bet you and I can actually have a nice conversation about Lovecraft. His atheism is well known, as is his strong embrace of oblivion which he believes awaits us all. Those are facts. You're espousing to know him better than I do without doing anything but criticizing me. The film may be a lot of things, but inaccurate is not one of them. Calm down, have a drink and we can talk. Until then, you're just another internet troll.

  • @DaywaltFearFactory You're welcome to put whatever tone you feel like over my comments but your hypocrisy and your inaccuracy don't do you any favours.

Short and simple of it. To try and talk of Lovecraft the person via fiction is a bizarre thing to do when the fiction has next to nothing to do with the person. It'd be like me paying tribute to the figure and personal, moral values of Edgar Allen Poe through the medium of Nightmare on Elm Street.

  • @ThePerm no, because Nightmare on Elm Street was not in any way based upon Poe's style or philosophy.

  • @SilverMaduin Exactly?

  • @ThePerm

Oi,what does it matter if the video was relevant to Lovecraft? It's just a video. If you don't care about any of this, then why do you keep on arguing about Lovecraft? ........I will never understand people.

Do you feel strongly about Lovecrafts beliefs or something? If not, shut up!

  • @redwolfluvr It matters whether or not it's relevant to Lovecraft because it claims to be. I find it strange you'd fabricate that I "don't care" when I clearly do. How audacious of me to care about one of the greatest influences upon horror in literary history. Frankly if anti-criticism is so important to you that you'd be willing to tread all over him you should surely revoke all rights to any form of psychological horror you appreciate and get back to enjoying the 'majesty' of Stephen King.

  • @ThePerm

All I hear from you is crying. Just because you care, doesn't mean I do. I don't even like stephen king,really.. You sound like a huge drama queen.

  • @redwolfluvr Whinge whinge whinge, the video sucks, get over it.

  • @ThePerm

    You are either...

    a) a really good troll

    b) terrible at cinematic analysis

    c) a fucking tool

  • @ApolloIron OR d) Completely Right.

  • Japanese porn!

  • Your videos have been excellent so far, but I sorta feel as if this one got something wrong. The whole point of the beginning quote is that nothing is more terrifying than the unknown. The whole tentacle thing during the credits sorta made me roll my eyes. I feel as if it would have been better if the one inkling of something amiss had been that one thing under the bed. Combined, of course, with the music swelling...simply to nothing but credits.

    Still, fine work.

  • I have a crush on the girl =(

  • Wow!! i think you are brilliant!!..xx

  • Is that creature Shub-Niggurath, The goat of the woods with thousand child?

Great video, but wasn't the lovecraft atheist? Why this video is anti-atheist kind?

  • Comment removed

  • I love the quote at the beginning. That's the way you set mood for a good horror, many classics do that, simple way of telling people that it is a horror film.

  • The white staff next to the bed looks like a prop out of LoTR!

  • @maarakailet1 It is actually a symbol from a Lovecraft story

    I believe it was Nyarlathotep?

  • Haha, I'm not even religious but it really makes me smile when atheists get defensive. Seriously, why write a bunch of replies that just make you look like a smug holier-than-thou (no pun intended) dick?

  • Have to say, if Lovecraftian creatures like theese were to appear in real life i dont think it really matters if you are a believer or not since everyone would be literally shitting their pants and the topic of faith would be quite irrelevant due to the fact that you are too busy trying to run/panicking to ponder it.

Also, why can't someone make an awesome Lovecraft movie that is as good as this? Sheesh, you'd think it'd be easier..

    Awesome clip!

  • TENTACLE RAPE!? :S

  • @chiliwuili That would be anime. lol

  • SanasSweetMode Then why would you respond to my comment with that reply?

  • @SpiderWhiteYT

I never responded to any of your comments.

Except if you made the one about Zeus, but I don't know how you could get "YOU'RE A BAD PERSON" out of "...i believe in zeus <3"

  • The thing I like best is how she said, "No I will not change my mind on my death bed"

and then she was all like

    "GOD HELP ME!!"

    made me chortle.

  • Mmm, tentacles. <3

  • So what was Lovecraft's "personal religious philosophy"? Was the girl's worldview parallel to Lovecraft's? Or are you referring to the monster? Because I didn't think Lovecraft actually believed in the stuff he wrote about.

  • That is so funny that a Nine Inch Nails song was used because I used NIN in one of my horror shorts! XD

  • So, Cthulu eats her in the credits? and why was the flying spaghetti monster crawling around under her bed? This one was kinda boring compared to the others.

  • @ThePotatoLord We feel just as sad for you.

Fewdio, great video. I felt palpable tension and the black humour was the icing on the cake. As for the arguing people, let's just agree to disagree and enjoy the short, please?

  • This is probably one of my favorite FEWDIO shorts and I've watched it quite a few times.I've always felt really sad for atheists and definitely sad for this one!

  • @OrchidOxycodone I am sorry you need a "God" that was recycled from other religions in order to live your life.

  • @OrchidOxycodone Don't feel sorry for us and we will return the favor. :)

  • The monster was obviously a slightly shredded black dress sock.. 8D

  • The monster was probably a Shoggoth. I don't think it was a Thulu.

  • Three reasons it wouldn't be Cthulhu. 1. He only rises when the time is right. 2. He's too big. 3. He doesn't eat you, he makes your mind explode because you can't comprehend him.

  • @gorboy There's no such thing as "a chtulhu" only Great Cthulhu sleeping in ancient R'lyeh.

  • @Thekandy I said the creature was a Shoggoth, though. I think...

  • Motherfucking Cthulu fucks your shit up.

  • so let me get this strate a octopus man just come out of water really? im not that stupid

  • are you serious? you thought this was real? you are fucking retarded.

  • did I just see Gandalf's staff in the corner?

  • Why did she say say candy bar, and she Englsih?

  • Dayum nice & fresh vids to love them specially this one interesting. & may i ask what song is that by nine inch nails.

  • That wasn't Cthulhu under her bed, he wouldn't fit. It was probably a Deep One or a Shaggoth. Either way, bloody good show! You are now my favorite channel.

  • @deusprogrammer

i think it was something smaller

  • kool video

  • Koolaids video

  • I'm a cosmicist, and I loved this video.

  • Lesson learned from this video: When having religious arguement, always check for Cthulhu under your bed.

Really love this vid guys! Great job! :D

  • i dont get it?

  • Is it just me or does this video have a strong anti-atheism message? lol

  • I think it does. We fear what we don't know, so we choose not to believe in it. Religion is the best example of this.

  • I guess I should be a little offended, but I'm not. It's such a damn good video!

I bought a movie for Halloween hoping to get a holiday horror. The movie sucked. I spent the rest of the night watching these videos which were many times better than that piece of shit on the dvd. These guys need to do a feature length film!

  • yeah they make some great stuff. genuinely creepy.

  • As an atheist I don't fear what I don't know or understand, I just don't believe in it. Modern society doest believe in Zeus, so why should I believe in the Christian God?

  • ... i believe in zeus. <3

  • @SanasSweetMode How does that in anyway make me a bad person?

  • @SpiderWhiteYT

    I didn't say that, dear.

  • Glad you liked it! And glad we could save you from a night of shitty horror!

    cheers,

    Drew

  • Thanks, Drew!

  • @Fewdiodotcom every reproduction of an HP Lovecraft novella made into film that I have seen sucked horribly- you are the exception

You guys should make a full length (or at least another short) of a selected Lovecraft story. That would be kick ass

  • @Fewdiodotcom

    is it anti atheist

because if it is then thats not cool :l

  • @jg2904 You aren't the only one.

  • @brokeanddrive lol To which of my comments are you referring?

  • @jg2904

    I think it's just you.

  • @jg2904 Yea, I agree!

  • @jg2904 I wouldn't say it's that simple. This video is about belief (yes, the main character's atheism can be categorized as a belief), and how the strength of one's convictions is tested by the imminence of death. The title is no accident.

  • @TheFantasticPfhor It may be a bit oversimplified, but an issue I often have with horror films is that it's always the rational characters(skeptics, people of science, & ultimately atheists) that receive brutal deaths in some form of poetic justice. Why? There are no such things as ghosts, goblins, or zombies. As far as we figure, there is nothing beyond the end of this life. The older I get, the more I think it's a little cheap to vilify people for having such conviction in cold rationality.

  • @jg2904 I completely agree with your point of view on this. Then again, I might be a little biased myself.

  • @TheFantasticPfhor I will say, she seems a bit more like a misotheist than an atheist. Perhaps these jabs in horror films are for people like her that take it so far that it is more of a belief than simple skepticism. I don't know... Now I feel like I'm overcomplicating things as apposed to oversimplifying them. lol

  • @jg2904 You wrote this a year ago, but H.P. Lovecraft was an atheist.

  • @Breeeeettttt I know. For some reason that comment has garnered quite a few replies over the course of a year. Go figure! Anyway, I think ThePerm said best what I think about this video. They pulled a cliché technique here in vilifying atheism/rationalism and, to my understanding, didn't quite catch the spirit of H. P. Lovecraft. I haven't read any of his works.

I still enjoy Fewdio, though. I really wish they'd make a feature-length film. Breach was a truly horrifying short film!

  • Those look like tentacles. So, wait.

Cthulhu was hiding under her bed?

  • I hope so...

    That would be SO COOL!!!

  • SOB!!!!

what a bloody fright....great now tonight I'll be checking under the bed!

  • Now I'm even more afraid of the monster under my bed o.o

  • Holy crap!

Is that a Cthulhu plush on her bed at 2:55?!?

  • Why yes. Yes it is. ;)

  • how rude....talking to someone on the phone while brushing your teeth...where are her manners?

  • Haha, I thought the same same thing.

  • HP Lovecraft...... CTHULU!!

  • I know about Poe but who is H.P Lovecraft?and he believes that monsters will eat us when the lights go out?Great vid though.

  • He is a famous Hermit writer who created stories about ancient gods and religions that would drive people insane.

if you are a gamer, you will reconize his work in Call of Cthulu and Eternal Darkness and many other...

    Twisted individual

  • Lovecraft is considered to be a runner up to Poe in contrast of his storys of Horror ,Ect'. He has alot of good fiction, I really think if you like Poe you will also admire Lovecraft. ^__^

  • I would be more willing to consider your view if you hadn't used "Ect" for et cetera, lol.

    I tease, really.

And I have to say that it is probably a poor idea to compare the 2 as the style, inspirations (Those they drew upon), and subject matter as a whole are worlds apart (More so applicable to how far out Lovecraft placed his writings after a few years worth of short stories, his dream pieces warranted the much appreciated book).

What was I saying? Oh yeah, horror good...lol

  • Not to knock Poe, but seriously, do yourself a favor, check out Lovecraft.

He makes Poe look like an amateur.

(Even though this is clearly my opinion, I anticipate a lot of retaliation. Cool it. Just an opinion.)

  • Thanks a lot : ),I've read some of Lovecraft books. They were really AWESOME.

  • Syman -- Pretty much every single Horror or Sci-Fi writer today is influenced by Lovecraft in one way or another. Stephen King is oen of them.

  • Words CANNOT do this video justice.

It was hard telling the monster from the woman being eaten, but that's what makes the monster all the more scarier.

It's not like some movie like that where a guy in a costume comes out into the open. Rather, the "tendril" sneaking underneath the bed and the bits at the end leave the viewer to construct the monster in their imagination.

5/5 and faved. Please keep up the great work (and please bring more hot female victims as well).

  • most disturbing

  • i just noticed at 4:15 there is a statue of cthuhlu or however its spelt

  • what do you think was under the bed? This was a tribute to Lovecraft after all...

  • one of the great young ones maybe lol i didnt know about cthulu till door 17 y favorite video and fewdio.... its amazing what boredom and curiosity create isnt it and the great young ones are baby cthulus pretty much

  • Great video. Disturbing ending.

  • 9 out of 10 doctors* agree that people will be attacked by a monster or murderer while watching a horror movie.

The last doctor was watching one.

  • lol Joe

  • thanks Richard. That's my philosophy in a nutshell. cheers!

  • FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • I guess she got what she wanted...

  • Great job Drew, you did something thats very scary, by not showing what happens to the girl, and by showing her in blood and in pain, you make us imagine what happened to her, and thats alot more terrifying then anything ever shown on the screen because its comming from our imagination.

  • tentacle rape !!

  • Nice reference with the statue of Cthulu

  • I'm an atheist and i'm sitting in my dimly lit bedroom on my bed while i watched this and i almost shat myself lol

    <
