  • This is the worst version of clair de lune i have ever heard

  • One of the most beautiful commercials I have ever seen.

  • Complete rip-off from VW NYC Passat Ad. From the 80's by Tony Kaye, perhaps a homage?

  • music rocks

  • I was looking all over THIS version of Claire De Lune. I think I found it. It was featured in the soundtrack for the movie Atonement. Search on youtube Thibaudet Debussy Clair de Lune

  • i want to learn this song on piano! and cool car heheh :)

  • This is my favorite commercial ever! The contrast between the music and the appearance of comfort in the car to the chaos outside is very effective. The music is impecable and suits the commercial beautifully, briging out the feelings for this veichle that could make a person want to purchase it - warmth, comfort and safety. As well, the appeal of class and beauty.

  • @Jasiek55555 My God, do you work for Lexus? If so, you should learn to spell.

  • Instaed of getting a Lexus, this makes me wanna go back to Vancouver :)

  • Shot in Vancouver! (you can see it's Vancouver on the GPS, and especially in the distinctive look of the alleys; also, the Dominion building appears in the background) Looks like he goes over the Alex Fraser Bridge with no one else on the bridge!

  • THANK YOU. It took me ages to find this!!!

  • Instead of wanting to get a Lexus, this makes me want to get an SUV ^_^ I like how the commercial just makes you feel cozy... it's hard to explain.

  • Does anyone know who's playing? And don't say Debussy, I mean who's actually playing this recording

  • @CStheoneandonly LOL, I think debussy wrote this song around the 1880's... How could he possibly play this in a commercial in 2010?

  • @MarioNintendoh That's exactly my point, I want to know who recorded this version.

  • @CStheoneandonly I couldn't possibly be "uselesser" to answer this question.

  • @MarioNintendoh What are you saying? If you don't know who's playing this, then you don't have to comment

  • @CStheoneandonly Sorry I did.

  • thank you for listing the song! i was looking all over for it

  • Easily my favourite commercial of all time. Claire de Lune is my favourite song, Vancouver is beautiful and the way in which it's filmed blows me away.

  • thank you poster...i was looking for the name of the song ...and luckily enough you posted it in the title,, thank you very much sir or maam

  • The bridge shown at the end is the Alex Fraser Bridge!

  • 0:22 - holy shit, do they really have that type of electronic display directly on the windshield now??? that's amazing!

also what bridge was that towards the end?

  • that girl is in my acting class!!! go racheal! we love uu!

  • @cutie4ever77 Interesting! :D Tell her she's really cute in this ad!

  • Thanks alot, I was looking for the name of the song ! :]

  • Anyone knows the breed of the dog at the beginning?

  • @iamthewalrus02 could it perhaps be a vizsla?

the color is right, but i'm not so sure about the ears, though.

  • I love this music ... it's a classical dude I believe maybe Chopin or Franz Liszt. At least its a start... great car to.

  • Shit, I also just realized its Vancouver, from the GPS though..

  • haha i was watching this just now and it came on tv

  • What is the name of the song?

  • Clair de Lune - a famous piano piece by Debussy

  • smooth music....

  • I really hate this commercial. It reminds me of what i do not have. Thats why i downloaded it onto my computer, because its an exquisite, well-made ad.

  • The commercial is quite misleading. The commercial starts out in various parts of Downtown Vancouver. Then, it leaves downtown Vancouver onto Cambie Street Bridge, and all of a sudden, we see the Lexus on the Alex Fraser Bridge in Delta at the end. Hey, there's nothing wrong with Cambie Street Bridge, Nissan and BMW did a bunch of commercials on it recently for its commercials. Sure, the city of Delta is ugly, but you don't have to play tricks on us locals!

  • THANKS!!!! I was searching for this song(and commercial) since like 1 week!!! I found it now! Thanks so much! The song is beautiful!

  • Except it looks like they've got the car driving over the skytrain bridge.

  • lol just heard this on twilight (no homo).. i knew it sounded familiar..

  • so pleasing to the ear :D

  • yep. definitely Vancouver. can see my apartment building at the start of the bridge scene. nicely filmed.

  • Thanks for song =D

  • Nice spot. Beautifully shot, and very evocative of the feeling of safety and security of being protected by Dad, and by extension, Lexus. However, they need Mr. Maurice LaMarche as the voiceover for Canada as well. Not only is he the new voice of Lexus in the U.S., and, IMHO, a significant improvement over James Remar, with his smooth, luxurious, slightly smokey voice embodying what Lexus is all about, but he's also Canadian! He's got this wimpy v/o beat all to heck!

  • im from Quebec, and im just speechless by how beautiful BC is at sunset.....BC is the perfect place to shoot a commercial for such a beautiful car

  • hey, sweet it's Vancouver! I'd recognize that bridge anywhere ^^

  • On my piano I can make the tempo go crazy fast or turtle slow this song. Man it is fun to do that

  • hey guy what is the name of this beautiful melody?

  • Debussy - Claire de Lune

  • pause it at 0:29 and you will see its vancouver

  • yea maybe cuz it says in capital letters VER on the side of the map

  • Ya man, that's what I thought too

  • Oh, not to mention the Alex Fraser Bridge in the final shot.

  • This is fairly typical Toronto traffic and, recently, fairly typical weather.

The Gardiner Expressway being that empty is a load of bollocks, though.

  • Yeah, because this was totally filmed in Toronto. Aside from the buildings, roads and what is obviously the southbound on-ramp to the Granville Street Bridge from Howe street, when he's accessing his navigation unit you can clearly see "NCOUVER" in big white letters (along with Hastings Street). No points for correctly guessing the first two letters in that city name...

  • I'll give you a hint: It's on the west coast, the winter Olympics are going to be there next year, and it rains fairly often.

  • it's more believable than making it the 401 lol

  • i drive one of these for work and its fucking AWESOME...

    this commercial is brillaint

  • It should be perfectly acceptable for fans of Twilight, however horrible it may be, to learn of Debussy from it. In fact, the reason I recognised the song is because of its inclusion in All About Lily Chou-chou, although Debussy was a major part of that movie, and I am not sure about his importance outside of the soundtrack of Twilight.

Pop culture is a great way to expose people to things that are more important to culture as a whole. Debussy is hardly someone to be an elitist over.

  • I was paying more attention to the music then the car. Go Claude Debussy! : ]

  • fuck do younow i have spent how long i spent to find the name of this dame song

  • Maybe some do, you dip shit ? Stfu and gtfo with ur depressed life ..

  • i know the girl in the back seat she goes to my lil bros school

  • Vancouver FTW!

  • i love Vancouver

  • yeah this was shot in vancouver, the first part was in downtown i think.

  • shot in vancouver!, awesome

  • Where was this filmed, looks like toronto when it gets on the highway there, but that bridge is definitely not toronto...

  • it's filmed in vancouver. the bridge at the end is the alex fraser bridge.

  • is this RX still based off the Highlander?

Or have they swapped chasis with the Versa?

I have a first generation RX 300 Sport. 2003 and runs like a top.

  • Since we all know the song, does anybody know the exact recording? iTunes has TONS of versions.

  • twilight woot

  • its not from twilight..its

    by Claude Debussy..a pianist

way too good for Twilight. it makes me mad

how everyone is listening to this song

just because it was in the movie.

  • thanks tips i know that. :P and i have no about this song before it was used in twilight...i play piano. i listen to this is classes sometimes... i just think its funny how ppl are using it because of twilight.

  • i personally dont see the big deal whether or not it was featured in the movie or book or w/e in twilight. all it did was give the song publicity, and a song as beautiful as this, was shrouded from most people. So by this song being mentioned in a movie, only allows people other than avid classical music fans to enjoy it, and expanding their musical repetoir.

  • It sucks that people who became interested in the music will associate it with that fruity teenage girl vampire flick, but look on the bright side: being educated in good classical music in any way has no real downside.

  • @headothecurve well on the other hand you should be happy this song is getting recognition at least

  • @headothecurve I no it pisses me off, damn Little Girls..

  • @headothecurve I totally agree!

  • @headothecurve Is it sad that I'm listening to it cause of the commercial? :D

  • @headothecurve awe muffin

  • @headothecurve Quite the contrary, my dear headofthecurve. I find that Twilight introduced me to a lot of good music and I am quite glad it was featured in the motion picture. I would have never discovered such beautiful pieces without it.

  • Definitely the new song I'll work on.. thanks. The song was driving me crazy today after I saw the commercial.

  • I love this commercial. Clair de Lune fits so perfectly as well.

  • thanks for the song x2

  • Tetsuji, thank you so much for giving the song name!

  • My pleasure.

  • I seem to remember this as a classical piece from my childhood, but dunno the name of it.

  • Ah, Claude Debussy: Clair de lune of the Suite Bergamasque.

  • I'm trying to find out the name of the song too. It sounds so familiar. I think it came from a movie.

  • ik i thought that too. but i cant remember the movie. Am I wrong with Les Miserables? The Claude Lelouch version.

  • This song was heard in many movies, but one I recall is Ocean's Eleven. Great movie btw..

  • yea me too some1 post the song name.
