I was looking all over THIS version of Claire De Lune. I think I found it. It was featured in the soundtrack for the movie Atonement. Search on youtube Thibaudet Debussy Clair de Lune
This is my favorite commercial ever! The contrast between the music and the appearance of comfort in the car to the chaos outside is very effective. The music is impecable and suits the commercial beautifully, briging out the feelings for this veichle that could make a person want to purchase it - warmth, comfort and safety. As well, the appeal of class and beauty.
Shot in Vancouver! (you can see it's Vancouver on the GPS, and especially in the distinctive look of the alleys; also, the Dominion building appears in the background) Looks like he goes over the Alex Fraser Bridge with no one else on the bridge!
Easily my favourite commercial of all time. Claire de Lune is my favourite song, Vancouver is beautiful and the way in which it's filmed blows me away.
I really hate this commercial. It reminds me of what i do not have. Thats why i downloaded it onto my computer, because its an exquisite, well-made ad.
The commercial is quite misleading. The commercial starts out in various parts of Downtown Vancouver. Then, it leaves downtown Vancouver onto Cambie Street Bridge, and all of a sudden, we see the Lexus on the Alex Fraser Bridge in Delta at the end. Hey, there's nothing wrong with Cambie Street Bridge, Nissan and BMW did a bunch of commercials on it recently for its commercials. Sure, the city of Delta is ugly, but you don't have to play tricks on us locals!
Nice spot. Beautifully shot, and very evocative of the feeling of safety and security of being protected by Dad, and by extension, Lexus. However, they need Mr. Maurice LaMarche as the voiceover for Canada as well. Not only is he the new voice of Lexus in the U.S., and, IMHO, a significant improvement over James Remar, with his smooth, luxurious, slightly smokey voice embodying what Lexus is all about, but he's also Canadian! He's got this wimpy v/o beat all to heck!
Yeah, because this was totally filmed in Toronto. Aside from the buildings, roads and what is obviously the southbound on-ramp to the Granville Street Bridge from Howe street, when he's accessing his navigation unit you can clearly see "NCOUVER" in big white letters (along with Hastings Street). No points for correctly guessing the first two letters in that city name...
It should be perfectly acceptable for fans of Twilight, however horrible it may be, to learn of Debussy from it. In fact, the reason I recognised the song is because of its inclusion in All About Lily Chou-chou, although Debussy was a major part of that movie, and I am not sure about his importance outside of the soundtrack of Twilight.
Pop culture is a great way to expose people to things that are more important to culture as a whole. Debussy is hardly someone to be an elitist over.
thanks tips i know that. :P and i have no about this song before it was used in twilight...i play piano. i listen to this is classes sometimes... i just think its funny how ppl are using it because of twilight.
i personally dont see the big deal whether or not it was featured in the movie or book or w/e in twilight. all it did was give the song publicity, and a song as beautiful as this, was shrouded from most people. So by this song being mentioned in a movie, only allows people other than avid classical music fans to enjoy it, and expanding their musical repetoir.
It sucks that people who became interested in the music will associate it with that fruity teenage girl vampire flick, but look on the bright side: being educated in good classical music in any way has no real downside.
@headothecurve Quite the contrary, my dear headofthecurve. I find that Twilight introduced me to a lot of good music and I am quite glad it was featured in the motion picture. I would have never discovered such beautiful pieces without it.
This is the worst version of clair de lune i have ever heard

The Gardiner Expressway being that empty is a load of bollocks, though.
