if any one could give me an estimate price for this kit and all the electronics together. i really want to get into trail driving... Thanks for the help
@carsaildaylong don't bother to get the hpi one in my opinion you have to spend the money to get anything worth driving a scx-10 will go up hills like crazy and you can get a ready to run for only $350.00 This is just my opinion but I know medic would agree spend the extra money it will be worth it!
@ipwn1911 I'm no medic but I'm not a newb either. In my opinion stick with the stock setup until YOU feel the need for improvement. The stock are good enough to learn to trail/crawl on, however If you do go mudding you will have to waterproof your esc squirrel and medic have great vids on that. Hope this helped and good luck. :D
hey medic i seen one of your videos the other day and now im in love with these things but im still a noob at it all so i dont wanna go all out and buy top of the line stuff for my first truck. id like to get the feel of climbing and mudding fist, is the stock 25t engine good enough to start off with or should i swap it for a new one also what is a good battery to start with? also if there is anything you would recomend swaping right away let me know thanks =]

Quick question.. How are you able to use a 3s battery on a speed control that only supports up to 2s, and on a brushed motor. that esc should give you an error when using the fxr esc since it only supports up to 2s lipo.
@painterofdreams - Easy, the Tekin FXR can support a 3s on a 35T or higher motor. As you believe otherwise - and im sure an argument is about to ensue - please check the following link - teamtekin*com/fx.html
What you speak about is the FX series can only handle a 2S.
@djmedic2008 no, no i am not trying to argue, just trying to clear up some confusion, it is to my understandting that the FXR is a 2s ESC, and the FXR Pro is able to handle higher than that, and normally you cant run anything higher than 2s on a brushed setup, but then i saw you using the BEC which probally scales the voltage down.
@painterofdreams did you check the link I just gave you? Its from Tekins site. The BEC is a power distribution centre. it distributes power to all parts of the trail crawler when needed. IE: Full Throttle / Mega Steering servo at 6v or higher. In the link i provided above - check the "spec" section of the FXR and the FXR pro. You are correct about the 2S... but as mentioned above - 3S if you are running the 35T motor or higher :-)
dude killer vids!! i'm just getting into r/c crawling and i got a question, would i be able to use a xl-5 waterproof esc on this build? I want to make it a crewler plus a mud bogger. I'v already got a 2075 servo and thought it would be kool if i could go waterproof an the electtrical factory rather than doing it myself. thanks for all you do dude!!! LATER "WALKER"
im new to the crawler portion of the rc world, but i was wundering if you could tell me the difference between using a 35t motor and 45t motor. and which lipo to use and if i can run 2 batts instead of one or will running 2 over heat evrything. ny help is very much appreciated thanx

hey medic awsome vids i really love all your series...i have a question about max amps can i run a 1800 3s lipo with the tekin setup and also what plug would i get? thanks for the great vids keep it up
@jsk850 You can bro..If you are using an FXR system - but you need to be running a 35t motor. nothing less than 35t. ie: 27 etc... Depends on what your plug is bro.. i usually use a ultra Deans connector. :-) hope that helps
@djmedic2008 its not resolved yet =/ but im very new i have been watching videos on youtube and i want to buy a all around mostly mudding but i want to be able to crawl what would you suggest to be the best for my money (id like to keep it under $300 dollars and im good with putting it together)
Hey Medic, I just got done building my SCX-10. It looks a lot like yours because you inspired it lol. However, I was wondering if the FX-R can handle 3s or not, it says only 2s in the manual but you seem to have used it and not fried anything. Any help greatly appreciated!
@bada55mofo Here ya go my friend.. straight from the Tekin website:
"Input Voltage: 4-9 Cells, 2S Lipo (3S Lipo with 35T or higher motor) " Cool hey? The motors I used in this build were 35t's. Did ya find that helpful? Hope so.. enjoy and have a good trail run :-)
Please reply, if you buy the RTR version instead of the kit, would you still be able to customise it like change the motor, servos and shocks like you did?
also i looked at the spektrum recievers and they have a 3 pin "connectors" for the servos and motors, do you have to solder the wires to them or are there certain plugs you can use like dean connectors?
DJmedic, thanks for the info. I understand when it comes to parts there are performance parts and entry level parts. Im might just do the RTR and take the mods from there. nice background music btw on the other vids :D
djmedic, thanks for the info. yeah i saw the RTR version. im just getting some info abour prices of the parts. I know for sure there are lots of different parts with diff qualities right? we'll see how it goes and post something when i get my rig. thanks a bunch
Djmedic, very nice vids you made! the rest of the videos are really interesting. I wanna build one pretty soon. on the top of your head all in all how much should one invest on the whole kit? i.e. including all the parts and electronics? thanks for any info
@whiteblitz hey bro.. to be truthful- I go crazy with my builds in the tutorials. i normally try to get the "best of the best" just to make a good series. And subsequently - it makes it very costly. This build was a total of $1350 CAD. BUT one can get into a truck like this for much less. in fact you can get an RTR version for about $400.00
Also Does your steering servo come with the horn? ii found a traxxas Digital High-Torque Waterproof for the revo 2008 the picture of it looks just like the servo you have on top of the box, do they come with the horns?
okay okay. all of a sudden i'm like obsessed with this truck. just curious what length shocks can it handle? and how much was it for the tekin electronics?
Hey, me again. I just bought the Axial AX10 Crawler RTC. Any pointers on waterproofing? What all do I need to waterproof? Is it safe stock to go through mud? (without sinking it) Thanks DJMedic2008!
