An easier method to install: Mobile Terminal * 1 / Go to Cydia, 2 / Go to Sources, 3 / (Edit / Add: Cydia.xcellize.com, 4 / Go to search and search by name: MobileTerminal. I hope that was understandable

But it is good to know that the Core Yoodles is already there from the other lame installation, apparently. Because it now works. network-commands package has traceroute and ping6 but not ping. inetutils (yoodles :-) ) has ping and more. Get top and look at the programs and processes running. This is lots of fun. Impress (not) your friends.

Note on iPhone 4S - If you get the MobileTerminal from Cydia it doesn't work. It just opens and closes again right away when you run it. If you get the one from code.google and just install it on top of the other one ... it still doesn't work. You have to go in Cydia and Modify / uniinstall the lame one. Then go back and install the Google Code newest one. Then it works !!!! :-)

Where do you get Core Yootles from? You talk funny. Its short for Utilities. Say that word ... You Till It ties. Then shorten it to Utils. There are not vittles for your dinner or Yittles. Or Yootles.

I just jailbroke my iPod, thanks to the instructions from you guys. Followed your instructions for the mobileterminal too. But, it crashes at first start 'press any key to restart' and then when I open it again, it reboots my iPod.!!!!

Please answer, i have a question, i want an app called lockinfo, if i find a .deb file named lockinfo on safari ON MY IPOD, will i be able to install it with ifile with the use of my computer at all? Because the whole reason im watching this is so i can download older version of lockinfo, use a program to look through my ipod, put the file on my ipod, then activate it with mobile terminal, Anybody, please reply! It would save me a lot of time!

@BlueSpArKyB it worked after, i rebooted my iphone with semitether but it wasnt there and then when i booted it with redsn0w it came up but when i opened mobileterminal it crashed so i resprung my iphone and then opened mobileterminal and it worked :)

You can also find it in iJailbreak's repo (they don't pirate anything, btw). It automatically asks you to update it in the Changes page if you already had it installed.

Mobile Terminal is used for doing all sorts of things — system level commands. In general, the average user won't need it, but it's very useful when performing some advanced operations, like chmod, etc.
