  • @Miley71520 This scene was actually really good fun to do as Eric Roberts and Vincenzo were both having a laugh with me and joking around! I was most concerned about not cutting the guy whose face I slash with the sword... where the blood flies! Was great... AL

  • @TheAStenson Ah... that would've been just a tad bit painful. Lol. I seriously just can't imagine "happiness" going on between you guys... I've been trying to picture a "behind the scenes" thing for the longest time, but it's well, uh, hard. xD That was some quality acting there. ;D

  • hey..''orlandogirl213' he was so right to kill these men cause all they wanted is his kingdom and money,,,they werent true men,,,they just wanted to be kings they didnt care about his wife his son his world just like he said he made with his hands...that woman he killed at the end he did very well cause she betrayed her queen she told them her secret about the woven.she wasnt trustworthy...im from Greece and i know these stories very well,,,,well done Odysseus,,you were a true king and warrior.

  • @ntorateo Odysseus was no true king either. Look at what he did to the Trojans. He threw Trojan babies from the walls just because he was too much of a coward and feared they would grow up and kick his butt. And he thought he was the greatest after he slaughtered innocent Trojans that never harmed him or Greece. Let's not forget that he pissed off a lot of people and slept around. He was no better than the men he killed. Penelope and Telemachus deserved better.

  • @orlandogirl213 kings are not chosen for their kindness or goodness, they aren't even a choice, kings are picked by birth so technically he a true king.

  • @orlandogirl213 greece called him to give a helping hand as they called Achilleas too...Trojans wanted that war,,,,if they had give Helen back nothing of all these wouldnt be happened...and all was Paris fault.

  • @ntorateo nah, he had to choose one goddess. If he choose any of the other two, Greece would be in ruins. Hera:Domain over Greece and Asia. Athena:Wisdom and the destruction of Greece. So if Paris choose any of the other, war would have happened, but with Troy killing Greece. Also war really started w/Eris Goddess of Discord who put the Golden Apple in the wedding cause she wasn't invinted.

  • @ntorateo Actually he orders the slaying of all the suitors mistress, after they carry off their bodies and clean their blood, their death Odysseus sees it as an act of mercy

  • Ooh heated arguments haha if u want to truly understand Greek mythology u gotta let go of the ideas of Christianity of forgiveness justice and etc Greeks came before Jesus keep that in mind when analyzing greek, norse, chinese, indian, native americans etc type mythology, anything that came before Jesus

  • The suitors were swine. In Homer's "Odyssey", Telemachus tells Pallas Athena's sparkling eyes they consume

someone else's property and pay nothing in return.

    The suitors' crime is stealing.

  • Odysseus, the greatest party crasher in Western Civilization.

  • Eurymachus is hot!

  • i saw this movie in english class it was cool

  • To orlandogirl213. What did your man do to make you so bitter? Why do you care where Odysseus stuck his prick? It's just historical fiction. Relax and take your meds. If you chill out you will probably find a new man someday.

  • hey, since there are so many people that disagree with Odysseus, who doesn't agree with what he does in this clip? Does he have the right to kill all these guys, i mean, because of all of the crimes he committed. Shouldn't he be the one getting killed?

  • does anyone know what kind of bow he would be using

  • I think a bow with that kind of curve is called a composite bow

  • oddysseus Pwned them..! i'm So pround being from Ithaca..!

  • @panostzimas Leukada !!!

  • when he asked "who are you old man?" He should have said nobody

  • 1:51, epic moment. They are like nuh uh it cant be.

  • Pwnt.

  • Werd

  • Look at them bitches surprized !

Its time for the Steel supper mathafakkaz !

  • All of you stupid son of bitches that are saying that Odysseus is stupid wil be raped until they can crap out pringles cans with ease. Odysseus was the best thinker of the Trojan War, not to mention he survived it. None of you critics could last a second in the war because you think that you could kill someone when in reality, you would be killed instantly, you faggot come guzzling ape shits

  • i think we all know that if we were in the war we would be killed

  • wowa.. a lot of people don't understand the Odyssey! not just on this post...

  • was odysseus killed in the true story or died by old age?

  • Not very true to the original, but still entertaining anyway. The maid didn't die that way for starters.

  • what do you think would have heppenen,if odysseus coulndt come back. can you meet your dead mum and forget how painfull its not to see her anymore,

  • orlandogirl213 u must be such a wit to say such about him wat would u do if u were in such a position

  • flamblaz, I can tell you I wouldn't go killing any1 when I returned home. That shows me Odysseus lusts for blood. His men didn't hurt any1. They weren't the best sort, but they didn't slaughter an entire nation. If I were him, I'd tell them to get lost. Odysseus is blind if he can only think with his bow and sword.

  • it was a different time. Morales were different. In his time, Odyssyus is doing what most others would do.

  • If he was as smart as legend says, he wouldn't have done that. Common sense. All those men did was take over his home, but they thought he was dead, so it wasn't their fault. If he'd spend less time pissing people off and sleeping around, things would've been different. If he were a wise man, he would've at least banished them from his court, not kill them. That just shows he thought with his sword, not his brain.

  • The suitors had broken the ancient Greek rules of hospitality, a pretty grave crime in those days. You didn't give your host a hard time or you paid for it. You need to understand this historically or, like you say, Odysseus looks like a pretty bad guy.

  • He already is a bad guy. He committed genocide for no reason at Troy. He raped women, threw babies from city walls, killed men, enslaved, etc. Then he kills men who only thought he was dead. He's disgustingly evil.

  • One of the interesting parts of Iliad and Odyssey is that--intentionally or not--Homer actually has the Trojans come out as more admirable than the Greeks--on this scene, how one old man with one bow can can 10+ men in a small room--this is Quentin Tarantino math.

  • No... I wouldn't say that's the reason he joined in Troy. He had Agammemnon knocking at his doorstep, and Agammemnon, in the Illiad was supposedly a powerful king, with armies compiled from other conquests added to his own. If Odysseus were to not engage in the war, it would cause big problems for ithica, and I don't ever remember Odysseus being known for raping women, atleast.

  • He created the Horse. That plan killed every Trojan in sight. Who says Odysseus didn't rape women? He sleeps around with goddesses, why not? He's a despicable man

  • Who says he, HIMSELF, planned to kill every trojan he saw, although he knew his men would, he saved only the brutality that was necessary.

  • Killing the Trojans was not necessary. The stupid Horse was not necessary. Basically, Odysseus the Odious was committing genocide. He had no reason to harm the citizens of Troy. They didn't hurt him, so why should he hurt them? It's one thing to kill soldiers, another to kill civilians. He said in the movie Troy that the Trojans insulted Greece and he showed little remorse for what he did.

  • orlandogirl213 and all the rest here... it is very sad to make conclusions for such a great story out of a TV series or a hollywood movie... please read the genuine script.. and you will find out why Homer's work is so great... All of your questions will be aswered if you read it... and you will understand...

  • I've read the Odyssey. All I see from Odysseus the Odious is how much of a rotten man he was. He slaughtered the Trojans for what? And while his poor wife was fending off potential suitors, he was shagging Circe and later, Calypso. Yes, she held him captive, but when she released him, he willingly slept with her. Sounds like a jerk to me. He didn't deserve his own story.

  • dear orlandogirl213...i'm very sorry but i don't believe you've read it...and you, in my opinion, you confuse the real world with literature... remember this is a work of art..not a little adventure of the guy next door..the "shagging" as you call it...has another deeper meaning and tropology...you deliberate debase an action in the standars of todays world...In the poem Circe represents the temptation which Odysseus confront and wins..Don't confuse Odysseus with a drunken Marlboro man..please..

  • Circe is temptation and Odysseus couldn't resist sleeping with her. Neither could he resist sleeping with Calypso. I'm sorry if there is no other way 2 convince you but I read the Odyssey in my freshman year and I'll never read it again. I don't care if it's in todays world or not, you don't sleep around with some1 when you're married. Odysseus is a cowardly, disgusting, despicable wretch

  • such strong words...youth is so straightlaced... i'm sorry i couldn't change your point of view.. but i think, and hope, time will...

But remember.. he was tossed around by the sea for many years just to see her...and the laws of christianity...didn't exist then...

  • that may be, but you have to remember this was ancient greece, and their values were way different from ours today

  • So what? I don't care whatever time and place, it doesn't change that Odysseus the Odious is the worst excuse for a creature.

  • and if 3:47 is anything to go by, those men were not innocent as you call them, that they were willing to commit treason on their king, rather than step down and let him take his rightful place as king when they see he has returned

  • Look what he did at 4:43. He just killed an innocent woman! He had no right to kill these men. They all thought he was dead. What crime is there in that? They were good men and they just wanted a new King. Odysseus just loves to kill. That's his way of solving things. He kills innocent Trojans, he kills men that wanted to be King of Ithaca.

  • two things wrong with what you just said: firstly, he didnt mean to kill that woman he shot his arrow at the final suitor and just as she opened the door it pierced them both, unintentionally, plus she was trying to help him to escape so i hardly think that classes her as innocent. Secondly, he killed those men because "they tried to steal his world", sure they may have treated his wife ok etc but they tried to take his throne

  • He didn't care that he killed her, unintentional or not. Those men only tried to "steal" his throne because they thought he was dead. He didn't return for 20 years, how should they know? They were only taking the law in Ithaca that there must be a King.

  • 10 or so years actually

  • yes but you dont seem to realise that Eurymachus tried to kill Odysseus with the axe even though his rightful ruler had returned

  • Only because brainless Odysseus the Odious started it. He was trying to defend himself. His own King was trying to kill him for no crime

  • 2 orlandogirl213

Good men? They were sitting there for years, eating and drinking Odysseus wine, raping women, ploting to kill Odysseus son and marry Odysseus wife against her will... while he was so far from home for 20 years - fighting for Greece and trying to find the way back home...

Gosh, I would do the same.

  • They all thought Odysseus was dead and they knew Ithaca needed a king. Penelope had no choice but to accept if Odysseus was dead. They didn't harm any1 and they didn't deserve death. It's not like they knew Odysseus the Odious lived. Odysseus shouldn't have left to slaughter innocent Trojans. That's why he's a moron.

  • @oOoLucciolaoOo Odysseus was no better than they were. Look at what he did. He murdered innocent Trojans-not only soldiers, but women and children. Troy never hurt him or Greece, but he felt it was right to hurt them because he was commanded to. You can't do something wrong because you are commanded to. Odysseus pillaged, murdered, raped, etc in Troy, so he's no better than the suitors after his crown. Ithaca was better off w/o him.

  • @orlandogirl213 the stories about odysseus r, by historians, considered as legend so there is a chance none of this happened or it did but on a smaller scale. hence it being called mythology

  • this movie sucks at interperating the book

  • I can't believe you people! I love Odysseus, you're speaking blasphemies, haha. Athena tells him that he's the first man to ever use his brain. He is opposed by Poseidon, a god, and somehow in spite of that he manages to make it back home, using his wile. His mind is always teeming. He's an inspiration.

Remember that the suitors tried to kill Telemachus, eat him out of house and home, defile the maids of his palace, and steal away Penelope(quite against her will). They only wish to rule Ithaca.

  • Seriously, all of those men were much better men than Odysseus. If only Penelope knew what he was doing while he was "trying" to go home. If only she knew how he pissed off Poseidon and slept with Circe and Calypso, she'd think twice before accepting him. I think those men deserved to live. It's not like they knew Odysseus was alive. They just wanted to be Penelope's wife. If Penelope knew what "faith" her husband had, one of those men would've been her new husband.

  • Odysseus is a complete villain. Why does he get a happy ending after what he did to the people of Troy? He drenched his hands in blood. He didn't defeat Troy, he annhiliated it. He killed too many families so he has no right to his own. He should've died in Troy. He thinks he's a hero because he kills innocents. And I know he cares nothing for his family he pissed off Poseidon, god of the sea and slept with Circe and Calypso. Sounds like he really wanted to go home. He's Odysseus the Odious.

  • You can't help loving him though "I ordered my men to release me using my eyebrows" Legend!

  • In the movie I can't help it only because Sean Bean plays him. But other than that, I loathe Odysseus the Odious. A guy who slaughters people and thinks himself a hero is not the most admirable. Neither is a man who is unfaithful to his wife after being away from her for more than 10 years. I don't see why anyone can love this guy. I feel sorry for poor Penelope because she married a player! I wish Odysseus died. He didn't deserve happiness. I wish Poseidon had drowned him.
