  • Also it takes alot of skill to see that opening. These point matches are like a chess game. They do seem slow however to a trained eye, they would realize that their movements are all planned and consise. Also if you look at MMA fighters (for those who said Tae Kwon Do wouldnt be good for MMA) a lot of them have studied Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is much more than just what you see here.

  • Most of the posts on here are hilarious. This is point sparring. The whole point is to have more points than your opponent. Most point sparring allow head shots if it is either a kick to the head or a back fist to the head. No face shots are allowed. I studied Tae Kwon Do from the age of 14-22. In all the time that I point sparred the outcome looked a lot like this match. The opponent is looking for an opening, once he has that he will attack. Sparring non-point style is much different.

  • Point fighting is gay. Full contact or submission fighting is much more realistic.

  • Anybody know if these guys actually kick hard? Doesnt seem like it :S

  • damn, i hate how this is an olympic sport, I mean, I get it, but it would be much cooler if we had something like MMA in the olympics, it will never happen though

  • r u not allowed to strike the face in taekwondo with hands?

  • @watsupmatthew I dont know Taekwondo but since its more "leg/feet" martial art and its a Olympic sport game rule i dont think so, maybe you can in a real fight haha

  • this is garbage they are definitely wasting time by just standing there and not doing shit seriously they are just jumping at each other and juking GET IN THERE DAMNIT!!

  • Match starts after 1 min.....

    1:00....

  • @RsAndTechno

You can punch, you just score more points with kicking so they're 'inferior'

  • OMG half of you guys here are retards.....

Taekwondo is not fighting??? Yeah right..

Thats why its an olympic sport!!!!

You know wath the difference is between TKD and lets saaaaay Kick boks or muay thai

We have fucking dicciplinne for the sport.

  • @bruynseraedemichael

I have more then 10 yrs of International experience

Ive been to south korea for training.

I am from belgium, some times kickboksers en muay thai fighters come to our club to LEARN how to kick...

After 5 minutes we always see them crawling over the floor with tears and blood...and thats just the warming up part.

  • @bruynseraedemichael .very true

  • taekwondo has more discipline than those arts...just recently taekwondo was ranked strongest and fastest kicks vs kickboxing and muay thai....you only see what they have on you tube and other video sites..but let me tell you true taekwondo is not easy to fight...its an olympic sport because its physically hard to train and its very popular...

What i say is dont say sh*t if you dont understand the martial art to the fullest....

  • im taking tae kwan do and i wish you could punch

  • @RsAndTechno Where i was taught i think you can but to the chest

  • @RsAndTechno in some taekwondo styles you can punch & kick in tournaments!

  • Wish they enforced more work in here.

  • these guys couldn't even be good kick boxers. kick boxers have to throw at least 10 kicks a round:-)

  • Patience is the key to any fight. I would rather wait and get a couple good kicks in and possibly KO the opponent than 15 sloppy kicks that leave my wide open for an attack. -TaeKwonDoJosh

  • lik-a-suuhhmmmmmmBOOOAAADDDDYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

  • wtf they danced around more than they made contact...

  • This suck wrestling is so much better

  • blue guy at 6:58 great counter!!

  • Ok all you trollers think you can do better, go into a fight like that, but go in and make the first move, you will get destroyed, it's about waiting for the right moment to score a point and not get a point against you.

  • @Taischen

rightly said dude!!!! its not a movie..... u have to anticipate first what type of opponent are u facing.... then some kicks are for attacking and some for counter!! and how u execute!! its a thinking game

  • @sidmiestro i do normal taekwon-do, even then i don't just plow in with fists and kicks, i think about my moves and if he fails with an offencive movie i have to think about how i can counter it and return it into my favour. i agree it's not just a fight, its a mind challenger too to out witt your opponant.

  • @Taischen

cheers mate nice to see ur comment!!!! and cheers to TKD!!!

  • What You All Have To Understand Is That.. These Guy's Are Anticipating On The Other Guy Attacking.. In Taekwondo Distance Managment Is Vital... One Slip Up And You Can Find Urself Ko'd On The Ground... So You Have To Make Every Move Wisely.. And Be Very Carefull.

  • @flipingidiot2 in other words. Taekwondo would suck for MMA

  • @flipingidiot2 I must say WTF is WTF? Bring them to kyokushin and we shall teach all the distance in seconds :P

  • i have fought kyokushin in a no gear match...i won in 30 seconds with a spin heel to the jaw...all you guys do is stand and attack forward...to traditional you rely to much on power to much flaws...they have sport taekwondo and they have hardcore..if you fight hardcore the outcome will be very different..I guarantee...

  • i ment everything in respect...

  • @henry82484 I don,t know what type and caliber of fighter you came across. But, you kick me on jaw even in 03:30 minutes and I shall surrender my grades in front of you, pay you $330 and join Poomse Taekwondo from very beginning:)

I have seen Taekwondo fights especially of ITF and I must say that guys fighting in this video are just wasting time.

  • Uhmmm. I got sleepy in this video. Blehhhh

  • 80 s taekwondo sparring was much better

  • sleepy

  • Check out my tkd vids or your gonna die in 1 hour and 30 mins. "Tick Tock Tick Tock!"

  • BORING

  • I just want everyone to know this is not how a real tae kwon do fight goes

  • fierce hugs of doom!

  • Lance Krall

  • i fight in TKD and they suck hardcore...

  • and here i thought golf was boring

  • @B9King937 yea...dont know why they just stand there bouncing around the 1st half. if their gonna fight then fight. fuck the little dots on the pads and fight! and then at 2:22 he takes a water brake and acts all out of breath =_= but from what? =_= bouncing aruond and throw abuot 2 kicks the heck

  • -_- zZ

  • fight or only search of point?

  • Thanks god they wear gloves! They almost kill each-other with these constant powerful punches!...

    No, wait... Oh...

  • que sem graça...

  • nice fast good counter attack but dammit heavily lack of aggression and combo and attackin til the dahm guys is forced to walk out or fall out ring to get kiongo...need hell of a more passion to the fight and stop beeing scared to attack and only hoping for counter points...

  • 1:02: obviously a point for red, but it doesn't show on his score card.

  • omg! that so boring!!!!

  • bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce

  • USA taekwondo schools are listed in wegotfitness com

  • i really am not a fan of point fighting. but great fights non the less

  • pussies

  • @coldblud101 well if it was a point competition id be cautious about engaging too lol

  • won suk kim was teh best martial artist in karea no1 beat him and he wasi nvited 2 a meetign with the top 12 best martial artists in the world

  • This is a nice movie and the sparring was supper well done

  • people i am only white belt but in my first tournament i win a gold medal .....

  • @ThePivotRR

Yeah sure you did. You as a white belt beat 10+ matches against people two belts higher than you most likely, as a white belt. Either you are lying (most likely), you're a higher belt in another martial art, or you're other teammates carried you to the finals and you actually lost most of your matches. The only white belts I've ever seen make it to gold were black belts in karate or some other martial art.

  • Im in Tae-Kwan-Do it means Feet/Legs Hands/Arms Head

  • muay thai ! best in the world.

  • thumbs up if ur korean

  • Esos giros son los mejores, valen dos puntos.

  • Lol I was feeling the tension and I'm not even fighting! xD

  • i hate the red guy's motion..

  • 태권도를 안해봐서 모르겠지만 두 선수다 너무 신중해서 지루하다ㅠ.ㅠ

  • im guessin there only hitting the body cause there not aimming at the head and there arms are always low

  • por q traen peto y careta adidas, por q patrocina el torneo o por q son buenos equipos de proteccion y los competidores los eligieron ?

  • @terranmextkd por que son los mejores :) protectores y cuestan muy caros mas de los que te imaginas :)

  • 6:57

  • The most spectacular fights are always the Olympic qualifiers, it's when everyone's desperate to get in. The actual Olympic matches are like chess matches, much like this one; it's about thinking and countering instead of pure, raw speed and power.

  • Where are the combos? oh wait this is karate/TKD, so im a fool for assuming such things. these guys wouldnt last a second again Mi Zhong...

  • Something i would like to point out to all of you who think karate/TKD is worth anything: first of all, there werent more than maybe three punches thrown in the entire match. Secondly, NO COMBOS whatsoever, maybe two kicks in a row or a block and then a kick, but those arent TRUE combinations. its a little easier to throw something to set ur opponent up for something else, just take them out of their comfort zone and dont let them stand there and read you, just keep your techniques coming.U Win

  • i do tkd bu i dont do tournaments so i dont really know all the rules. Can you only use your legs?

  • @TheKrystianC when i was fighting we could punch to the body, but maybe olympics you can only kick...which is stupid if thats the case. Punches were the best thing for setting up head kicks

  • @TheKrystianC I've participated in many tournaments, so I know them pretty well. As far as I know, you are allowed to use your hands to punch, but I think it must only make contact with your torso and not anywhere else. Punching just isn't practical for TKD. We spend the entire time honing our kicks, so it's hard to maneuver around them in order to get close enough to punch. Basically, it's impractical. Then again, I could be wrong. My last tournament was 5 years ago! Good luck in TKD!

  • didn't get awarded with his jump dwit chagi, ripped...lol

  • Ahh you people just don't get that it's not always countering it's just these two, Some people have different tactics is all, these two both counter a lot, but if you only counter you won't always win. You need to have a balance between offensive and defensive.

  • come on guys start fighting i'm getting booooooored ,,, i'm still waiting 0:01 0:02 0:03 0:04 0:05 0:06 0:07 0:08 0:09 0:10 0:11 0:12 0:13 0:14 0:15 0:16 0:17 0:18 0:19 0:20 0:21 0:22 0:23 0:24 0:25 0:26 0:27 0:28 0:29 0:30 0:31 0:32 0:33 0:34 0:35 0:36 0:37 0:38 0:39 0:40 0:41 0:42 0:43 0:44 0:45 0:46 0:47 0:48 0:49 0:50 0:51 0:52 0:53 0:54 0:55 0:56 0:57 0:58 0:59 1:00 wow finally: they start fighting lol

  • @ahmadguitar87

i cant believe you wasted your time writing alll those numbers

  • @TKDmidgit

hhhhhhhhhhhhh ,,, and i can't believe that i wasted ( 1 minute ) before they fight each other ,,,,,, lol i'm kidding ,,, in fact i enjoyed this video , and i wrote those numbers cuz there was nothing to do before they start fighting ;pppppppppp

  • @ahmadguitar87 looks fake brother any attack, it can cost both pass out from shock and each other know about it and not walk -.- ariesgan put forward, and true that if you do something gross going down a blow that is going to stop looking stars.

  • @ahmadguitar87 you are right ... this is not fight ...

  • @ahmadguitar87 You obviously do not know anything about Taekwondo competition strategies. You don't just rush into your opponent with random and pointless kicks. You need to watch cautiously and attack when your opponent isn't expecting it. If you blindly kick, your opponent can easily counter back. You need to wait until your opponent has no counter attack ready in his mind or he isn't ready to react.

  • @NomNomSandwich

hhhhhhhhhhhhh you just an idiot ,,, in fact i'm a TaeKwondo Player ,,, and i didn't mean what i wrote in that comment ,,, i just wrote it to be at the top of this page, and you see now , i did it hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @ahmadguitar87 did you really just type all that down

  • @puzzypirate

    hhhhhhhhhh ..... yup i did ;p ;p ;p

  • @ahmadguitar87 you should never rush your attacker.

  • they are waiting if who will be the first 2 attack .. to much waiting ...but its okie ...the fight is good...

  • In my opinion TaeKwonDo is very impressive, but the fights are boring :|

  • Well of course it's not like in the movies. This is a competiton, they're not going to risk of their opponent earn points. They have to be patient. Let's say there is a fight in the street between martial artists, yes they would be exactly the same as in the movies because they don't have to risk anything, they could just beat the shit ot of themunlike the in olympic or any tournoment where you have to hit the sensor to get points.

  • KEEP YOUR GUARD UP GODDAMMIT!!

  • people expect crazy kung fu flying shit from movies, no get back to reality, tae kwon do sparring is more of counters and accuracy along with surviving the rounds

  • the people are used to see movies they think is the same in real fights but its not

  • boring

  • turtles mirror match lol. What is this SF4?

  • Taekwondo stances r epic

  • t0o much waiting..

  • Very good

  • no one is really fighting

  • (dyslexic) i did trained tkw when i was younger,80.s and 90,s..then we cick all the time,,wtf is this shit? they just stand there?and somtimes kick in the ass..this must be the most boring tkd i ever seen..but the worst is that many tkd fights this days are like this..when i did fights i kick all the time, they dont do that in tkd fights anymore,,just standing there and jump up and down..look so stupid,,and its killer boring..

  • obviously these guys have really gone some to get were they are now, but their kicks need to be honed and combined a little, and they need to work on their guard. Maybe throw in a back kick after that snap because at 58 secs in when hong throws a snap and chong is spinning out, he opens right up, a powerful back kick would have been devastating, and a point scorer.

  • boring........

  • mucho estudio nada de pelea un barrial se vee mas en korea nada

  • isso não é tae kwon do é uma porcaria os caras so sabem pular feito 2 retardados

  • Take out the F.U.A. guys.

  • even though its not mma as far as action goes these guys a fighting smart not just throwing kicks praying to hit theyer opponent

  • Most ppl say its a boring fight becuase ppl dont know how hard it is to fight someone that grew up learning the exact same stuff you did so stf^

  • laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame :-/

  • valen pa pura poronga nomas le tanteaban ya le ubieran puesto en su madre en una real :P

  • This is very professional

  • This makes TKD look bad/boring.

  • im only a 1st dan, and just started to take olympic sparing classes. can someone please explain to me why sometimes, when they're bouncing, their hands are completley down?

  • boring.. I think in 3 yrs time MMA will rule the world

  • @saijin91903 yeah of course because its the best thing since slice bread right? maybe krav maga will rule the world since it can beat a mma guy in the street right? or maybe shaolin kung fu will since a monk can kill a mma fighter right? fucking idiot

  • @THEpillows100 Your more than an idiot!! I'm referring it as a sport!! Asshole!!

  • More like tae kwon do do dance

  • that position look good for back kick

  • so boring :S

  • I have to agree this is boring. Both of these guys have trained in defensive stances. They prefer to get points by blocking or evading and doing a quick counter.

  • cool

  • Mind fucking each other.

  • Boring

  • i got sik of it in a min

  • -.- wasted a minute watching them bounce around... lol

  • Man with all that hopping in one spot, they must have some tired ankles.

  • They're waiting for each other to counter-kick each other. Its natural in a competition fight such as Taekwondo to wait for the opponent's first move before you make your next move, just like in chess.

  • taekwondo is jametttt

  • why it's taking so long???

  • This video approves how gay TKD really is...

  • @Opuliskii wow you said this because your small brain cannot learn the pumses and you always lose belts xD

  • @Opuliskii They're just doing it in a very tentative way. Most fights, in any style are much better than this. TKD is much better than this video lets on.

  • @Opuliskii Want to know the main reason why Taekwondo is an Olympic sport ? Unlike Karate. The IOC wanted to make a sport exactly like boxing but the total opposite of it. So hence came taekwondo and not much punching. SO its balanced. Boxing = Punching. Taekwondo = Kicking. Judo = Grapling. Three main pillars of basic fighting. If you are complaining about taekwondo rules. What about Judo which doesn't allow punching ? Sure it take down the opponent fast. Or boxing that doesnt have any kicks.

  • delete vid pls

  • i knew the guy in blue would win from the first 30 seconds... the guy in red leans forward too much...

  • adidas, clothing for people who just stand around all day doing nothing (chav reference also)

  • q pelea mas mierda le hago mas webo q ellos y apenas son cinta azul -_-

  • both guys here are the same style of fighting. they both are looking for less kicks more accuracy, and trying to counter. Its a great fight in my opinion, just because some people dont feel entertained because of the lack of constant action, doesnt mean anything. Great fight.

  • @ganitywaltz its true most fights carry on this way but...if ur really good u can actually attack and get past counters "-.-....these guys arent that good e-e......i have done many tournaments myself and its cuz my dad is a 5th degree black belt...so he isnt just looking for money like some other trainers he rly tought me what he knew...

  • @ganitywaltz you made a valid point, but its NOT a great fight.

  • @ganitywaltz

it is nice to focus on accuracy, but also for accuracy you need to do anything at all. That fight here was just a poor fight. And also beside the lack on "action" the fight was not great. They kicked very poorly and only used basic kicks - no combination at all. The best kick was a basic double round house kick - that is lame for a black belt. But it also prooves that South Corea and Japan give out black belts way too much and also on way too young ppl.

  • @ganitywaltz

Two boxers walk into the ring but keep dancing around because they want the 'perfect punch'. This would be boring and not a good fight imo. However, I understand what you are saying: a 'good' fight is not necessarily an entertaining one. I guess I prefer a home cooked steak pie with plenty of gravy than some slither of duck cooked by a Michelin chef...if you know what I mean.

  • @ganitywaltz those are the people who don't know tae kwon do themselves

  • @ganitywaltz I agree with you. Great fight!

  • @ganitywaltz because taekwendo is for pussys that don't want to receive some kicks in the face... practice, muay thai, or if you can muay boran, that's for real men, and you'll actualy learn how to fight

  • @bryan9ful oh yeah? notice how long ago that comment was. i train muay thai, boxing, jiu jitsu, judo, and wrestling 5 days a week,3-5 hours daily. yeah of course it was a shitty fight, its tae kwon do,but dont try to tell me im a pussy you fucking prick.you understand?

  • @bryan9ful Why you gotta dump on tae kwon do? I'm a noob at it I just started training, but the techniques I've seen so far are pretty aggresive. It just that these guys are to worried about getting hit and losing points. My master teaches us that you cannot be afraid to get hit, you have to except that there's a possibility you'll get hit. Sometimes you have to take one in order to get one in, but make sure your shot is better than there's. I think TKD is a good way to start in Matial arts.

  • @ganitywaltz if you look at fights as a sport, then you're right.

  • fucking beeps -.-

  • this is so boringgg x]

  • their hands are all over the place! pair of dicks. they need to keep their gaurd up.

  • @JabblesANDlynchyTV from your attitude alone one can tell you never got near a martial arts venue, so, I'll let your crude remarks slide... no more can be expected from couch potato expert...

  • @ngahu2iae couch potato expert? all i needed was three years of TKD to work out that it was the best martial art i ever did. i know roughly enough about it to know how it works. yes i've been in fights, and no i havnt won every single one. i know what it feels like to take hits like the ones u may see in this/other videos. it dnt tickle. which why i made the previously posted the comments i did. surely u cant it reasonable to make those accusations about me when you know nothing of me?

  • @JabblesANDlynchyTV it's funny how someone who call two strangers ' (a) pair of dicks', is ready to talk about making accusations (or, as it isn't an accusation, perhaps 'pre-judging' is a more correct).

Regardless, while 'couch potato expert' may not be applicable, I stand by what I said before that. Martial arts, specifically that from East Asia, should teach you manners as well. A whole lot of good it does you even if you win the Olympics, if you are someone who calls people 'dicks'...

  • @JabblesANDlynchyTV ...That is the prove of how ignorant about TKD you are.Go and watch some box matches and leave TKD for TKD lovers.

  • guys tae kwon do is for kids dont make fun of it, its like drawing with crayons and eating hotdogs your mom sliced up for you.

  • @Ditrix take an axe kick or a reverse turning kick to the head, then come back and talk shit ; )

  • Meh, taking too long and showing too much fear.

  • Ching chong suck mah ding dong

  • @pimpstrike this shouldn't of made me laugh..
