But as per todays stats, there are 6 million people who are Irish by Birth, or have Irish parents / grand parents who live in the UK. Is it fair to ask theses good Irish people to head back to Ireland?, I think not.

The IRA had thousands of scottish volunteers in the twenties and alot right throughout the PIRA's campaign, including english volunteers such as Diarmuid O Neill killed by the british in 1996 in his hometown of london. The IRA had thousands of scottish volunteers in the twenties and alot right throughout the PIRA's campaign, including english volunteers such as Diarmuid O Neill killed by the british in 1996 in his hometown of london. Many immigrants came to ireland and were treated the same as nationalists were/are and thus because ireland was there new home, they joined the IRA, including chinese, italians etc not in big numbers of course!

What do you say about all the Irish immigrants that came to the US and were met with hatred by the "Nativists" who called them "immigrant bastards"? "No Irish or dogs allowed" signs used to hang on pub doors in the US. We're all in bad shape because the rich, landed class keep us divided and weaker than we could be. @padraicohare Actually we sailed back laughing and drinking rum knowing we were perfectly safe from your Navy seeing as we'd just beaten them to a pulp. Funny thing is it was just seen as a sideshow back home as we were engaging Napoleon at the same time ,who was a much more formidable foe and demanded more effort.
