Sonic 2 has got to be on my top ten most influential games. It's not a very complex game, but it is simple, fun and the overall experience was phenominal for its time. It also has one of the best soundtracks ever made for a video game.

The improved speed was not a hack, it is simply a glitch. At the beginnign where he goes into the tube, and jumps over the green ball, and hits himself with the spikes and lands on the right side of the other thing-a-ma-bob....is how to make him go uber fast like he did.

Where the hell did you learn about all those level cutting glitches? And how much practice did it take to master them? I never dreamed it was possible to go through Metropolis Zone so fast. And you got some Balls in Oil ocean risking death  to get across fast. I've only seen one faster time but they basicly bounced over the top of the entire map.

well whoever did this run was an expert, i was never able to finish Oil Ocean act 2 with the "hyper sonic" glitch (sonic's speed and jumping ability increase greatly).

At 5:46 I always do that move it beats waiting about 20 seconds to reach the boss at that part.

btw I can beat tha boss with out taking damage the first hit is the hardest but after you kill his clone wait for two seconds then high jump under robotnik it works for me.
