I'm a fan of electronic music with heavy bass emphasis. I recently purchased a bass guitar and I'm looking to replicate that powerful synth bass sound on a live instrument. I love the sound coming from the bass in this video. How did you get that sound? What modifications am I looking for?

I dunno what this guys using but for a "synth"-like sound, I'd recommend a envelope-filter effect (obviously) plus some distortion (I'd use a FUZZ but it's a matter of taste). He's also using a phaser in this one.

There's a delay, looper, some pitch effect, too but those don't usually make your bass sound more synth-like.

Well, if it makes things clearer, the intro is a stupid joke. It's just me being sarcastic.

But, the jam itself was completely improvised and we never really played together aside from this. It developed quite nicely as it went on. Keep in mind I'm in college for guitar and not drums. Aside from that, you gotta kinda watch all 3 videos to kinda get it. They have some sort of continuity that is pretty cool (imo).

Other than that, it really isn't THAT great, it was just very fun and natural.

Actually, those sounds (and the software to make this video are standard with Macs. They are REALLY stupid, which was the point. The actual new software I have is the serious stuff, lol. Nothing retarded like this.
