sometimes the love animals give u back is more unconditional than humans. They dont lie, dont argue & always there for you. That deer is the most beautiful Bambi ive seen. :' )
It was an astounding time. I've got many more hours of video of her, her friend Baby Boomer and her babies. I really should add to the video -- now that it doesn't hurt so much. Thanks for your comment.
It still hurts to think about the day Blossom died. She was almost ten years old and started to cough a bit and at times strain to get a deep breath.
The day before, when we awoke in the morning, she was looking at us through the large window from our patio. Oh, so sweet and loving, as usual. I got up and fed her some baby carrots, brushed her and gave her a massage - face & body. Loved it!
Next morning she died -- curled up peacefully next to the house. All neighbors came to say goodbye:(
I do believe that certain wildlife really do love their adopted parents...You just have to do your research! You have the most beautiful relationship with your "Blossom"...GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
The song is sung by a native Hawaiian (IZ). It's a lovely melody full of love and lots of heart -- perfect for what we feel for Blossom. Thanks for commenting.
So many people here care for "wild" animals and, like you, cannot understand the need to kill such wonderful beings. Blossom has opened the minds of many hunters -- hopefully worldwide. I vividly remember one little boy telling his father "see Daddy, deer can love too. I told you so". It just takes time I guess..... Thanks so much for your comments.
Absolutely one of the sweetest things that ever happend to me. I only helped her and Baby Boomer because they were both near death. Blossom from dehydration and Boomer because he was frozen and pulled from a flash flood in shock. They didn't have a chance. Both of them were free to come and go when they wanted. They made it obvious that "no strings" are the strongest ties that bind.
@SyriusBelsferg The two bucks in the front of our home were her friends. Blossom had a huge impact on our community of deer -- and our human neighbors.
One day a neighbor was jogging down the street with Blossom jogging right next to her!
@Chimerism101 Good catch. Not many people noticed that the deer coming out of the front door was Baby Boomer -- a close yearling friend of Blossom's. The was an orphaned little boy and, although Blossom would not nurse him, she did adopt him. They were inseparable.
@Chimerism101 Both Blossom and Baby Boomer (the little buck coming out of the front door) wore the collars I made for them. I needed to let hunters know that they were part of our family and were loved (like a pet dog) hoping against the odds that, just because they were special, someone would want them for a trophy.
Most of the hunters had their pictures taken (many with their families) with Blossom. She always was friendly -- a very social little deer.
@UnicornEditions So how were her deer friends when they first met you? Did it take her example for them to be comfortable around you? They must've felt really comfortable if they let you put collars on them.
I also saw that Blossom's interacted with a dog and a cat.
Blossom seemed bemused when her "friends" seemed wary of us. However, she never let anything deter her from joining us in or out of the house. She loved to socialize and was always there, interacting, for parties -- even a wedding across the street. Her friends came closer and closer, until they too became part of our extended family. It was magic. Wish you could have met her.
Respond to this video...All animals (or most) interact well with each other if given the chance. Matter of fact, I rescued a little cardinal (bird) a few months ago who is now living in the house (till Springtime when he can fly free). We have a cat and 2 dogs -- all of them have learned to get along just fine. I'm starting to take videos of Hyacinth, the cardinal.
Blossom learned how to "kiss" when my little dog Kaya kissed her as a baby. She just kept on with it.
Strange as it may seem, she never seemed to understand when her "deer" friends would hang back and wait for her -- instead of coming right into the house like she did. She loved being massaged, and "facial" circles around her eyes almost put her to sleep.

Our Blossom passed on last year at the age of 10. However, a day does not go by when I don't think of her -- so, she will never be forgotten.
Thank you for your comment.

Thank you. Blossom really understood people and animals. Amazing to watch her acceptance of all living things -- except bugs (which she hated).

@DT5236 Yes, she was a lovely being. She lived 10 years and died naturally in her sleep. One of the saddest days in my life.
