This guy came into my area when KISS was the big deal. No comparison. This guy was (and remains) bruisin'! Rory was clad in a plaid shirt, faded flare-cut jeans, cowboy boots. His gear was his signature beat-up Strat with a mile-long coil cord plugged into a wall of amps. I never cared for the splashy big-arena concerts back in the 1970s. Small-hall performances did it for me. RIP -- Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore. Happy St. Patty's Day (in Heaven) to 'em both!
57, what bullsh*t. Saw Rory about six times.Rod, Lou and Gerry. All brilliant, but Rorystood out. I was never a Gunsn'Roses fan but go look up the interview he does about about Rory, also Clapton, Bruce, Edge, and the guy from Queen. No 1 in their eyes.Just listen to him here...dang. Thanks MotardKamikaze.
im watching this is protest to the rolling stones mag not even having Rory in the list of greatest guitarist clueless mother fuckers Rory stayed loyal to Ireland played in Northern Ireland during "The Troubles" when other bands were too scared for that ill forever be loyal to Rory
whenever i down or grievin the death of a loved one this legend lifts me!!!!!! on my bike with him in my ears cut up some country miles faaaaaaaaast!!!
wHAT MORE IN YOUR LIFE COULD YOU WANT, THAN TO LISTEN TO THESE GUY'S, MAN THIS IS THE WICKETEST ROCK N ROLL BAND EVER, MAN THESE GUY'S CAN PLAY, THEY KNOW THEIR TRADE.
Well, the fact is that he always knew how to play only with the best musicians, that's the key of his success, besides the fact that he was one of the BEST guitar players on Earth
hi number51oco....i could not have expessed what you said in better words... but would like to add for all rory fans....he is definitely more in our future than past...another planet when here and temporary we miss him here....see in you heaven......tony, sweden.
@daviemcf I met Rory in 1978 in Hollywood, Cali USA ... He and his band signed my cast, What a great guy! He was the best damn guitar player... and showman there was!
Yes, unfortunately we all do, man. I gave up the hard stuff the year he passed...although I still indulge apon occation. Now give me a hard rockin` woman to party with, won`t ya mate??!!!

Rory is a guitar God.
There is not a person on the planet that loves to tune the guitar like this man.
Thats why I want to go to heaven, to see this show.

I never noticed until you asked Rob! I`d say it was something stronger. Otherwise he`d have had his beer in a can or bottle, woundn`t you agree?
