Anyone that didn't raid Naxx40 missed out on the hardest raid ever. I would say Sunwell and Naxx40 were the hardest ever in the history of the game and i'll doubt well ever see that again since its done a 180 since those days :(

@CloneWarrior001 Actually I was an officer of a raiding guild for two years during Vanilla, and while it could be painful to get 40 people together the rewards made up for the difficulty. It's funny, you'd think now 40 man raids would have been impossible to do since there were no server transfers back then, but they weren't impossible at all. I guess it had to do with the fact more people played on the older servers as well. God I miss those days

But the real reason why they dislike it is because they probably think it was easy because we're lvl 70 or something like that - which I can assure you it wasn't, but that's besides the point. :p Either way I only put this together as a memory for those who were there so I'm happy to see that some ppl did like it! :D

At the time, there were enough one-shot mechanics that could wipe you in Naxx 40 that it really was pretty much harder than much of the level 70 content - even with 40 people in the raid. The obviously big difference is that DPS was nearly double and thus the encounters went much faster and hence the opportunities to get hit by said AoE abilities were less, but other than that, the coordination needed was pretty high even with t6 gear.

@axeshredstorm69 If you mean the level 60 version of Naxxramas, then probably not. The main thing that made it easy enough to PUG at level 70 was the fact that DPS had doubled in most people's faces (there were still some low DPS retards :p) so that effectively meant that the one-shot mechanics that were on a timer could effectively be reduced by 50%. Say, the confusion and panic caused by polarity shifts on Thaddius and people damaging each other because of being slow

@axeshredstorm69 (and even 10 levels higher than intended, having more than 5 people around you when that happened meant you all got one-shotted, which wasn't as rare with 40 people in the raid) was effectively reduced in likeliness. Most of these encounters would be able to be done in under a minute since DPS has gone up by more than 10 times since then, so for many of them you wouldn't even get to see the one-shot mechanics, lol. I'm pretty sure you could kill Sapph before he breathes once. :p

Man I remember Naxx's release. I always wanted to see it but my guild just ran MC and BWL. Did AQ the first day of release though. It's cool when the server crashes in the middle of Kurinnaxx. And then the week after getting into 40 man and getting stuck on Fankriss. Fuck C'thun and his Stupid face :D. But it isn't much of an achieve while it's BC and there wasn't a need for attunement upon it's release. Grat's on the Brutal helm though.

Only reason I said on to play wotlk was to do naxx again which was done like 1 month into wotlk then i quit until recently because I wanted to try lich king which was a bit challenging but that is due to the fact that it was hard to find skilled players.

Yes, they do use some logic. You get epics in regular mode 5 man toc.

The fact is every expansion there is a higher percentage of epic items.

This xpac there are more epics than there are blue items and probably greens.

It's mean to show that Azeroth is getting stronger as a whole.

Anyways, who cares about epics. Someone can be in full epics this xpac and it still means their gear is complete shit.

I dont know where you get ur facts from, but the T2 Helm drops from Nefarian the last boss in BWL :P and the T3 sets is quest rewards and is still obtainebale if you have the right tokens (wich drops from the old Naxx tho)

Raided back in Vanilla, guild broke up as we got to sapphiron about 3 months before BC was to come out. Amazing instance, fights like 4 horseman was so technical. Needed multiple warrior tanks with 4 piece dreadnaught. 1 taunt miss it was gg. Too bad its all watered down at 80 =(

Nah, nowadays having the achievement is the way to "prove" someone is a good raider. Ah the amount of times people don't get invited, because they do not have the achievement... truly a great turn in World of Warcraft. On that note, the amount of times that someone with the achievement messes up the raid is very often... people don't learn, do they?
