@KudzuRunner nice thanks for tip enjoy your vids great sound. i need help with my setup. useing old bogen tube amp, and a boss dd6. also connect my little beringer solid state amp. both sound great can i get both through delay pedal. and 3 mics to choose from. green bullet new current model. a shaker madcat low output. and a bluesblaster also new and low output. but those two allow me to crank up the amp which ever one im using. hope to hit harpfest in mississippi next year. thanks for any tips
@KudzuRunner thanks for info. i just picked up a dd6 and it has two outs. stereo and mono. i tried both of those and i get both amps cranking. hope i don't mess anything up by that setup. using a vintage tube amp and a solidstate ampeg. and a off the shelf green bullet current model. i think i need to look into mic selection now
sounds great,. i was thinking of getting one but was out of budget. i did pick up a vavle jr head and cab for 250. i can't believe how good it sounds the head cab speaker is really nice to
Dirty amp Clean mic perfect match. I just bought a clean shure Hi Z dynamic mic today & it makes my Premier amp sound perfect with no feedback at all even up full. I have got a Harp Gear 30watt & that sounds better with a Dirty Bullet mic - Its not easy at first finding a good set up
Following Adam's tips, I play through 2 amps: a Harpgear HG30 and a small Epiphone Valve Junior and it sounds really great! I'm waiting to replace my Epiphone with this great little monster; I'll listen to this video again and again until I'll get the money to buy one.....Thank you Adam!
I don't need to do a commercial for Brian, but I purchased a Double Trouble from him about 2 months ago, and it is spectacular. The bass response that he manages to get out of 8" speakers is not to be believed. Also, he's very easy to deal with.
i thought you said on your forum that the new Gretsch (champ) type amp sounded as good as the harp gear & that cost a quater of the price. not bad for people who can not afford a HG2. I love the sound of the vintage amps .
It does indeed sound great, and costs roughly $200 as against the $695 or so Brian charges. But it's not nearly as loud. It's strictly a practice amp--although one could, I think, toss a mike in front of it and get a nice sound. Brian's little amp is so loud that it can hold its own, unmiked, in many gig situations. Of course Brian's is handmade, to the highest specs, and comes with a human being behind it, ready to help you further optimize. Two different amps; both offer great value.
i agree. i just brought it up as there will be alot of people looking for a suitable Harp amp that can not afford a harp gear & might not know where to look. I think the new Fender 600 is the same amp as the Gretsch. I tried the new Gretsch amp in the shop & it sounds as good as it looks.

what kind of splitter do you use for two amps
The01time 1 year ago
@The01time: It's an entirely passive 1-to-2 Y connector.

Wow that sounded great. What "clean" mic were you using?
JumpinJimMan 3 years ago
Didn't I ID it in the video? I thought I did. It's a Shure PE-5H. Billy Joel is singing into one in the video for "Piano Man."

WOW! What a great sound--and some snippets of really great harp playing too!
Thanks again, Adam. . .

For us DIY types .. would it be safe to say that this is a Champ/Princeton type with maybe reduced voltage on the 12A** tube?

Great question. I can't answer it, but maybe Brian P. can.

A tab for 'unlucky in Love' would be a wonderful thing.

Anyone know the tab for 'Unlucky in Love' and how Adam gets that honking blues sound in the thirb bar?
mcdookus 3 years ago
I actually started a tab. Is that something that would interest people?
KudzuRunner 3 years ago
I find that the hardest part of "Unlucky In Love" is the tongue slap thing in the third bar. I just can't seem to get that down.
What are you doing Mr. Gussow?
superchucker77 3 years ago
Please tell us, its hard to get from just just listening to.
moscularrulez 3 years ago
Absolute, that would be great! I can play the main riff but not that chorus part, with the octaves. It's one of my favorite S&A songs, Yes please.
neuropatico 3 years ago
Did you get that 'Amazing Grace' version from me Mr. Gussow ;)
superchucker77 3 years ago
No. I've been playing that much of the song for twenty years. But I don't really know the whole song. I should probably learn it.
KudzuRunner 3 years ago
It's the truth in the lyrics that make it great, but you playing it, makes it sound even more awesome.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, sounds like a new Harpgear 2--not even an old Harpgear 2.
Of course, I still love my old Premier Twin-8.
But I'm buying a new Harpgear 2.
